Just a question I was wondering. I started really getting into wrestling in 1998 so by then it was common knowledge that Vince was the owner.
Looking at old videos though it seems like Vince used to always give subliminal messages to smart fans by calling himself "The Voice of the WWF".
So when did you know Vince owned the WWF/E?

Triple H: There's a lot of bi things I am but lingual isn't one of them... hey, wait a minute, did I mean to say that?
JR: I don't think you did, but be that as it may, we're live.
Lol since day one...the first episode of Raw I ever watched(back in 2000), he was standing in the ring bragging about it for like 15 minutes. He wouldn't let me live it down!

I say at least the early part of the 90's. As a kid when I watched him as an announcer, I didn't have one clue to who the hell was he besides what he did there. I remember my cousin telling me that he was the owner the company when we watched a show back then.

The steroid trial gave it away to a lot of people. Other than that it was hidden really well. His onscreen role for his first twenty years was as an announcer. It wasn't until September '97 when the Austin/McMahon angle was born that it came out onscreen.
I started watching heavily around 1998. This was when he was fueding with Austin and had just formed The Corporation. He would make note that he owned the company all the time in promos so it would have to had been at that moment that I knew.
Umm Hi. Anyway, I found out in the when I first started watching and just didn't understand how important he really was. I just couldn't get how stiff & scrawny he was next to " The Body" & being young wondering how in the hell Jesse got away with talking to his boss like that... I was young...and I'm Polish
