Vince McMahon Making Even More Big WWE Changes; WWE Testing Out Knockout Finishes
Quote:
As posted last week, Vince McMahon wants the WWE Superstars to become better actors and improve on filming their backstage segments. Vince is also talking about wanting a more realistic style in the ring. Norman Smiley was hired at WWE developmental and told he was being brought in because of his background in the more realistic Japanese style of wrestling. WWE doesn’t want moves and blows that look like they miss and are still sold. They also want to bring back a more realistic feel to the matches and have less light showing in the moves done.
WWE officials have gone back and forth for over a year now on the concept of the knockout finish, which we saw at No Mercy with Big Show and The Undertaker. Obviously they are trying it out but if it doesn’t get over it will probably not be used anymore. Earlier in the year when the company was making the move over to HD, they were wanting to make sure everything looked solid on TV because HD would make missed spots more obvious.

this doesnt make sense without the use of blood.
so we want it to look more real, but not show real effects?
its stupid

It's actually a great idea. Blading isn't realistic so how is it stupid? They seem to just be going with being stiffer and if someone bleeds it happens but they aren't gonna cut themselves to make themselves bleed. It makes perfect sense, and I'm all for a more realistic style in the ring. I've liked how they have let CM Punk for example make his moveset look even better with him actually being a bit stiff now. But yeah being more realistic is just basically letting whatever happens, happens, and let it be natural.
And as far as the knockout finish I liked it prob more than anybody else did, but hopefully they don't overuse it though. I think they should just keep it strickly for the Big Show and every blue moon pull out one of those stone cold steve austin pass out knockouts when in submissions and such.

Vince should be more concerned about having Vickie Guerrero in HD on a big screen...
But im not a big fan of the KO's, even though it was ok for the Undertaker at No Mercy. But they shouldt use it to often.

I liked the Big Show KO of The Undertaker. It looked very realistic and really put the Big Show over as a dominant heel. Hopefully it wont be used all the time, but infrequent use would be cool

LOL at the thought of Big Wiggle being skilled in the art of the Japanese style of wrestling. Why wouldn't they bring somebody like Tomko or Albert, who have gone over to Japan and successfully adapted to the Japanese style of wrestling and become far better performers for it, back to help train and go out there if they want somebody prolific in that style?

I'd mark for the big wiggle...
I'm interested to see if this works out because honestly, I just bought a 42"LCD, and the missed spots are really noticeable, and I don't even have HD yet.

dont get me wrong its a good idea, although i think that to show more effective punches one would think blood would occur, its just strange to see harder punches with no effect except for acting by the person taking the hit.
Give me a good blade anyday, but props for trying
