Main eventers that can fit in the mid-card
Main event wrestlers are known for staying at the top of the card or at the very least, the upper card or in a high profile feud. However, there are also main event wrestlers that can fit in the mid-card. I really like main eventers that can fit into the mid-card and make it believable because essentially it makes them more useful to the show than others since they can be used in ways that other wrestlers can't be used. Shawn Michaels is the perfect example of that. He went to main event level feud with Orton to a mid-card feud with Kennedy and it was perfectly acceptable and believable.
WWE could benefit from this. Of course they will still need their top main eventers, but having some main-eventers that can work the mid-card helps out the mid-card credibility by a lot.

Chris Jericho is a good example of this, I believe. He has the ability to main event, and he does time to time, but he usually works in the midcard putting people over.

Re: Main eventers that can fit in the mid-card
I wonder if Triple H would accept a role like this? Well wait a minute he was out of the title feud for quite some time. And when him and Shawn reunited they weren't in a main event feud, sorry folks Spirit Squad by far weren't no damn main eventers..

Re: Main eventers that can fit in the mid-card
Agreed with Jericho. If I had to make a list of guys that are perfect for it, I'd probably go with HBK, Jericho, Big Show, Kane (even though his status is questionable) and JBL.
I would go with Jeff Hardy too but his few months as a main-eventer doesn't really solidify him as one. Even though he could be used in both the mid-card and main-event.
I don't see Hunter in a mid-card feud. He tried it upon his return but you just got that sense that he was just going to go over everybody. It wasn't as believable.

Re: Main eventers that can fit in the mid-card
JBL comes to mind,CM Punk I guess is considered a main-eventer and I could see him going back to the mid-card.Big Show,Kane,Rey Mysterio,Mark Henry,Jeff Hardy, although they're kind of questionable as they either used to be main-eventers,bounce between that and the mid-card,or in Henry's case is the main-eventer of the C-Show.

Re: Main eventers that can fit in the mid-card
JBL definately fits this, when he was WWE Champion during 2004-05 he dominated the Main Event scene. After dropping the belt to Cena at WM21 JBL was in the midcard, feuding with Chris Benoit and Boogeyman in 2006. To me JBL is an
Main Event/Upper-midcarder.
Chris Jericho and Kane are also perfect examples. Rey Mysterio fits this too, Rey was champion reignited a personal rivalry in a upper-midcard feud with Chavo Guerrero.

Re: Main eventers that can fit in the mid-card
Basically guys who haven't held the world title in a long time like Michaels, Jericho and JBL. They're credible but not out of place lower down the card, unlike HHH, Cena and Taker since they're constantly associated with the top belt.
Smaller guys can make the transition easily too.

Cena and Taker haven't been in the mid-card in ages.

Sting and Vader are a couple good examples.
