Wrestlemania XXIV Review

1-JBL Defeats Finlay by pinfall in a Belfast Brawl(8:35)

Of course this wasn't meant to be a classis technical match but it did it's job to keep the audience and crowd entertained. This was a good brawl betweem the two big guys with, surprisingly, JBL getting the win. Good match but nothing special.

2-CM Punk Defeats Shelton Benjamin, John Morrison, Chris Jericho, MVP, Carlito and Mr. Kennedy in a Money in the Bank Ladder Match (13:55)

A very good match with a fair amount of spots. The match was fast paced troughout and earned a, in my opinion, second place in the MITB Matches. I was kind of expecting CM Punk to win but I was still shocked that he did win. Great match.

3-Batista Defeats Umaga by Pinfall (7:06)

I wasn't expecting much if this match but somehow it was worse than what I expected. I was bored to death from the very beggining. Not much to say.

4-Kane Defeats Chavo Guerrero to win the ECW Championship (0:08)

The match started, the match ended. That's about it.

5-Shawn Michaels Defeats Ric Flair by Pinfall in a Career Threatening Match (20:23)

A very emotional match with HBK retiring one of the greatest of all time. The match was awesome but I won't give it a 5 star rating like other people have. While the match was extremely good it just wasn't 5 stars to me.

6-Beth Phoenix and Melina Defeats Maria and Ashley in a Bunny Mania Lumberjack Match (5:56)

The match was better than what I expected but it was used to let the crowd "rest" after the roller coaster of a match that was HBK/Flair. Not much to say here.

7-Randy Orton Defeats John Cena and Triple H to retain the WWE Championship in a Triple Threat Match (14:09)

A good triple threat match. Nothing exceptional but still a very enyojable match troughout. I was shocked to see Orton retain, but I liked it.

8-Floyd Mayweather Defeats The Big Show in a No Disqualification Match (11:36)

This match turned out very well. Both of them did what they had to do and provided an entertaining encounter. FM winning was no shocker for me. Again, an entertaining match and probably the best non wrestler/wrestler match.

9-The Undertaker Defeats Edge to win the World Heavyweight Championship (23:50)

Fantastic match. These two did not disappoint the fans and gave us the MOTN and probably MOTY in my opinion. Edge did a great job in his first Wrestlemania main event and the Undertaker was great as usual. The match did have 5 minutes of slow action but it was still awesome.

WM 24 was one of the best manias ever.

I rated some higher,but it's how you feel I guess,so no problem.

Wrestlemania XXIV was awesome and still the best WWE show for the year, imo. But as far as all time Mania's go, I don't think this would be in my top three favorite. Maybe pushing it, I'd say top five though.

Yeah. Hogan vs. McMahon was a very entertaining match up with memorable visuals (Vince's bloody face coming over the side of the ring), amazing spots (a guy in his 50s doing legdrops off of ladders! What the fuck?!?!), a shocking return by Roddy Piper, and an all around fun match to watch.

Angle vs. Lesnar - The only thing people seem to remember about this match is the botched finish. Ok, I don't think a match where the finish is botched should be held up as one of the best of all time. And to be honest, I've watched the match 3 times. It's good, but I didn't think it was anything special besides the botched finish, which is not a reason to praise it.

That said, I will give Brock & Kurt all the credit in the world. Kurt worked the match with a broken neck when he could have easily sat out of Mania. And Brock somehow managed to finish the match after damn near killing himself.
