Re: Austin was supposed to headline WM 18
I think that might be false. I heard elsewhere that Austin was supposed to face Hogan but that the match didn't happened because the two couldn't agree on the finish.

Re: Austin was supposed to headline WM 18
It was always supposed to be Rock Vs. Hogan. The reason why a Austin and Hogan match was not even talked about was because Austin/Hogan did not get along around that time in 2002. Neither one would job to the other.

Re: Austin was supposed to headline WM 18
To be honest, an Austin vs Triple H match would've been better than the one we got. I like Jericho and all, but that match was pretty standard and there was no chemistry or heat from the crowds.

Re: Austin was supposed to headline WM 18
Steve Austin was so burned out in 2002 that I don't think it would have been all that great either way.
I'm just thankful he came back to wrestling in 1997 took the business to unthinkable heights and then gave us that brilliant 2001 year especially.
For that he is the greatest of all time IMO (and about a million other reasons)

Couldn't they have just made it Jericho/Austin?

No it actually can't.
HBK never took the company to unthinkable heights in the least but he did come back from injury to but on some great matches for sure, and I don't have a problem with people putting him as the top ever but he is in my top 5.

Well the two had wrestled at Vengeance 2001.
Then again on Raw in a cage match.
Then at NWO 02.
I don't think a fourth match in three months would be to appealing for a WM main event.
Also where would Triple H have then gone?
