I'm not sure if you read all the pages or just the recent ones but you must skip a lot of material. Anyway...

Another match review...

Shawn Michaels vs. Ric Flair w/Mr. Perfect

This I'm pretty sure was the first ever meeting between the two. Funny because Shawn was still a Rocker and looks a lot more buff than he does now. The match itself wasn't anything spectacular, just a decent, fast paced match. Unlike the past couple years, Ric Flair could wrestle real good in 1991 and the fact that he can keep up with Shawn is surprising. Flair uses all his usual tactics like the eyepoke and an oddly timed flop. Strange seeing Michaels hit the superkick as a regular move to set up an elbow drop that Flair kicks out of. What baffles me is the ending. Michaels attempts a crossbody on Flair to the outside but Flair moves causing Michaels to fall. This knocks Michaels out and he starts to get counted out but Flair keeps on breaking the count. Marty Jannetty comes out and helps Shawn back in the ring where Flair, for some reason puts his feet on the ropes in plain sight of the referee and manages to get the win. LOL at the large amount of pixelation to censor the NWA/WCW belt. What I don't get is how a simple miss to the outside knocks Michaels out for that long and why Flair needed to put his feet on the ropes for leverage. Anyway, after the match Shawn gets pissed at Marty for his loss (even though he would have been counted out anyway)and shoves him as the video ends. This I believe led to the breakup of the Rockers the next week. So even though It's not a standout match, you have that and the significance of the first matchup between Michaels and Flair.

Rating: ** 1/2

The match wasn't really that long and nothing really stood out. Probably due to the fact that Shawn was still an up and comer so there wasn't a need for the two to go all out. It's entertaining though and has a lot of historical significance. Don't get why they didn't use this match in the build for their WM 24 match.

Ok, its after 3am here, so seems like a good time to finally start my next Raw review. I have been putting it off for a few hours now, but I have actually put the disc in the player, so I am definitely going to do it now.
