So many bloody ECW matches on PPVs with so little superstars involved. Punk/Chavo/Morrison were probably the main PPV challengers/holders in nearly a year. That's stupid, but I'm not rating. Im off to watch ROH Dragon Gate Challenge II as you all love it (Y)

Same. The turn was great but the entire finish seemed like overkill to me. Here's how I feel the match should've ended, Rock sets Austin up for the Rock Bottom but Vince enters the ring with a chair and first low blows Rock. Next, hands Austin the chair and Austin nails the Rock once with a huge chair chair shot. Austin pins Rock then Vince and him celebrate. Gets the same point across without all the nonsense that occurred.

Just a reminder, I've watched three segments and wrote three segments while I watched it for my first Raw in 1999 Review!

I've also watched one Armageddonh match! MVP and Mysterio which was decent. I will for sure have one of these reviews up tonight if not both....but it'll take some time I estimate 4 hours till the first one, probably midnight pacific time, 1 mountain, 2 central, 3 am eastern, and 8am in the UK (Where cal Lives) LOL.

Goin good though!

Great American Bash and One Night Stand looked absolutely horrid so I put those away. Backlash I might get, No Mercy I might get.
I thought I was the one that rates everything highly? J/K

GAB 07 wasn't that special and good you didn't bother with ONS. Backlash is a must have and if you appreciate HHH/Orton or just for history get No Mercy. I was there and had an awesome time.

Here's a review:

WWE No Mercy 2007
October 7, 2007

WWE’s tri-branded event emanated from Chicago, IL at the sold out Allstate Arena in front of over 15,000 fans. I sat in row six ringside behind the Smackdown announcers and everyone was in anticipation over what could possibly happen on the most historic and unpredictable night of 2007. John Cena was injured and the WWE Championship was left vacated. History was guaranteed to be made and a new WWE champion would be crowned on this night!

Before the PPV began, Lillian Garcia while looking very hot sang a beautiful rendition of the Star Spangled Banner. Up next was a dark match between Hardcore Holly and Cody Rhodes. Holly got a huge pop from the crowd and his knife edge chops to Cody's chest popped loudly throughout the arena. Holly wins with the Alabama Slama. PPV time!

Opening Segment

Mr. McMahon and Raw G.M. William Regal entered the ring to a loud chorus of boos from the white hot crowd in Chi-town to present us with a new WWE Champion. There was much speculation Chris Jericho would return and the crowd let Mr. McMahon know we wanted Y2J (Jericho has stated he should have returned here and I agree).

Mr. McMahon instead gave us something else and that was the crowning of the new WWE Champion – Randy Orton! While Orton celebrated, Triple H interrupted and goateed Mr. McMahon into making a WWE title match to kick the show off.

WWE Championship
Randy Orton(c) v. Triple H

This match was so unexpected and the booking really took me back to the Attitude Era days when the unexpected would happen and the fans were on the edge of their seats waiting to see what happens next.

The match receives good time considering what would come later on and with a quick roll-up, Triple H becomes the WWE Champion for the 11th time! We marked the f*ck when Triple H won! Oh my God what a moment seeing The Game with the belt again. Orton looked so devastated not only because he lost the title but he now holds the second shortest WWE title reign in history.

*** 1/4

Six-Man Tag Team Match
Mr. Kennedy, Lance Cade & Trevor Murdoch v. Jeff Hardy, Paul London & Brian Kendrick

Kennedy used cheap heat by throwing the Packers winning streak over Chicago in our faces. I think he jinxed them because they actually lost to the Bears that night. Hardy, London and Kendrick were running and flying all over the place in this one and it seemed likely they would pick up the victory. But Hardy and friends crashed and burned one too many times which left an opening for Kennedy to lead his team to victory with a Green Bay Plunge on Paul London.

** 3/4

ECW Championship
CM Punk(c) v. Big Daddy V w/Matt Striker

CM Punk deserved to have a better showing in his hometown than these two minutes with Big Daddy V. Daddy put a vicious beating on Punk throwing all his weight on top of him with a huge elbow drop. Punk spat up blood and sold his rib injury very well.

N/R

Chicago Style Pizza Eating Contest

Would have preferred another match in place of this but seeing Melina and Maria in the ring made up for it I guess. Matt Hardy and MVP had such an entertaining and competitive rivalry going and this was a funny chapter in the feud. Matt wins the contest and throws it all up on Montel.

WWE Championship
Triple H(c) v. Umaga

This match was originally scheduled for the PPV and Mr. McMahon was sure to give the fans what they wanted plus Triple H would now have to defend his newly won championship belt. Umaga is a meticulous predator attacking The Game’s ribs possibly cracking them. Triple H sold the injury as if he was about to die. In spite of that, Triple H finds a way to stick a quick Pedigree to stop the Samoan Bulldozer and retain the WWE Championship! Wow, what a night for the King of Kings!

** 1/2

Rey Mysterio v. Finlay

The Mysterio/Finlay rivalry was just heating up here and this match was pretty quick but good. Rey did a leg drop off the top rope onto Finlay who fell out the ring and hit his head on the floor with a strong impact.

EMT’s came out for help but Finlay was just playing with everyone’s emotions and showed how dirty he could be by attacking Rey from behind. The ending was a great way to continue the feud. I thought it was so funny how Cole and JBL were arguing over Finlay’s shady actions. Finlay is such an effective heel.

** 3/4

Backstage Triple H is with a trainer tending to his rib injury when Mr. McMahon informs him that history is not over for this PPV and he will be defending the WWE Championship one last time tonight against Randy Orton. Orton has issued his rematch clause and it will be a Last Man Standing Match!

Women’s Championship
Candice Michelle(c) v. Beth Phoenix

It was certainly about time for “The Glamazon” to take her reign over the women’s division and she did it in quick and dominating fashion. Beth is sexy in person believe it or not. She is better looking than Candice and the perfect combination of strength and beauty.

1/2*

World Heavyweight Championship: Punjabi Prison Match
Batista(c) v. The Great Khali

Match turned out way better than expected considering the two behemoths locking it up within the confines of this strange gimmick match. The bamboo structured Punjabi Prison was a cool sight to see and an even cooler or surprising sight was the 7 foot Khali climbing two cages. Batista needed to do something out of his element to hold on to his championship because Khali was about to climb over the finally bamboo structure for the win.

Batista had been knocked down and was thought to be out but he sprung back to life and climbed the first bamboo cage and then jumped to the second structure! Batista has never flown like that before and the crowd went crazy in the race to the outside. Batista wants it more and his feet touch the floor before Khali. The Animal retains the title! This is one of Khali’s best matches of his career.

** 1/2

WWE Championship: Last Man Standing Match
Triple H(c) v. Randy Orton

“Get ready to get hurt!” – Triple H

This is the defining moment in the career of Randy Orton. It may also be a defining moment for Triple H too because both men went to the ring and with time running out on this historic PPV, they put on one of the most intense fights I have ever witnessed.

This wasn’t just a basic brawl; it had an old school vibe and the story was that Orton would do anything to regain everything he lost just hours earlier and the injured champion Triple H would do anything to keep his belt. Every punch, use of weapons and count out was executed perfectly to keep the attending audience and television audience enthralled in the psychology of the match.

Several of my favorite spots are Triple H countering Orton’s RKO by slamming him threw the ECW announce table, DDT on a steel chair, RKO to Triple H on a steel chair and some sick steel step shots to the head. Triple H of course blades which only adds more affect to the violence of the match. I truly felt like both men gave it their all throughout the match and it was immense watching the action unfold before my eyes.

The entire audience stood up for the final ten minutes of the match because this was something special occurring and a WWE Championship match hasn’t felt this important in so long. I want to take my hat off to J.R. for calling this match with such emotion and excitement for every move performed. I could tell J.R. truly enjoyed himself as did everyone.

I really wasn’t sure who was going to win although I anticipated Randy Orton to win, there was still that chance Triple H would win his third match of the night and retain. There were many long 9 counts and I thought it would have been over a number of times before it was.

Triple H made a great come back and I marked when he gave the D-X chop in defiance to losing. The ending saw Triple H go for the Pedigree on the Raw announce table but Orton countered with a swift RKO out of nowhere which cracked Triple H’s skull off the table!

After Orton hit the RKO he got back into the ring and stood tall as Triple H tried to fight his way back up and make the count, but he had been threw too much for one night already. In the closing moments J.R. shouted, “We're at 9! We're at 9!! We're 9!!! We're 9!!! We're at 10!!!! It’s over!!!” Randy Orton has become the WWE Champion for the second time in one night! This was a tremendous job done by both great champions.

The Age of Orton began on this night and I am honored to have witnessed it live. Orton coldly walked out of the arena with the WWE Championship “after winning this match in a by God war!”

**** 1/4

But what happened after the PPV went off the air was truly inspiring. The bloody and defeated Triple H stood up to a standing ovation from all of us in attendance. I have never seen anything like it in my life and I cherish that moment as well as the entire PPV. Lillian thanked us all for attending and wished us good night. I had an awesome night. Just for historical purposes alone, I recommend this DVD.

Are you going to review HBK/Flair from WM 24 in the future I am wondering what you think of it as so many people have been given it ratings anywhere from ***-*****.
