Re: Biggest Kiss Ass in the business?
I've heard Cena's a huge kiss ass and is Vince's 'boy'. Apparently they hang out together outside of wrestling circles. This doesn't surprise me one bit to be honest, I knew there had to be at least one good reason for the 'super-push'.
Although I dislike Cena, he is over (just) with the majority of fans and he does sell merchandise. But he just can't wrestle. And since he can't wrestle, he must have been doing something right backstage in order to get his push in the first place ie. being McMahons 'boy' and being so 'Pro-Wrestling' that it's borderline ridiculous.
I never heard of Taker/Austin/Michaels/Rock hanging out with Vince outside of wrestling, nor did I hear them sound off and defend the wrestling business as much as Cena does. We know they love(d) the business, but they didn't need to shove it down our throats. But Cena will do anything Vince or Management asks him to, why? Because he's a kiss ass.
I await my flaming from the Cena marks.

Re: Biggest Kiss Ass in the business?
This isn't a good thread because we all knew it would lead to HHH and Cena bashing. I hate people that say Cena can't wrestle, not everyone has to be a technical god like Hart. Hogan wasn't that good of a wrestler either, just punches, kicks, scoop slams, and the Legdrop.
As for biggest kiss-ass, it's JBL by far currently.

Re: Biggest Kiss Ass in the business?
From his early WCW days, there was no bigger ass kissed than Buff Bagwell... I mean, when a guy carries other wreslter's bags and enjoys it... that's kissing ass. (Or so Scorpio says... although he's been known to be high sometimes, I'd believe him over someone that was fired over egotistical bs during his short WWE tenure)
What is really shameful about all of this is that Buff never got a push higher than probably upper midcard in WCW...

Exactly... just like Hogan, he CAN'T wrestle. I never said he couldn't draw, wasn't over or wasn't great on the stick like Hogan did I? He's an entertainer, not a wrestler in the purest sense of the word.

Re: Biggest Kiss Ass in the business?
Come to think about it Ric Flair is a big kiss ass he said that Shawn Micheals was a better wrestler then Bret Hart and yes HBK is good but c'mon, Bret Hart is proberly the best wrestler alive, then he talks about HHH, Undertaker, big Show, Vince McMahon and Stone Cold as if they're gods.
Triple H as well because he always has his balls in his Wife's handbag.
Shawn Micheals, i mean c'mon he's said to be taking over the WWE with Steph and HHH when Vince retires, what dose that tell you.
Jim Ross because he's such a company and always says what Vince is thinking
JBL
Edge

Most of the main-eventers have had close relationships with Vince. According to Bret, he considered Vince to be a second father and even drew a picture for him after he got the belt (might have been the IC belt).
Michaels: Despite arguing with him alot, apparently Vince liked what the Kliq was doing according to Nash and Hall. Also, he participated in the Montreal Screwjob.
Austin: They were pretty close until 2002.
Taker: He's loyal and I remember reading somewhere that they would ride motorcycles together.
Rock: Rock was able to buy his name from Vince because of the good relationship he had (and might still have) with Vince and the WWE. Also, he had the advantage of knowing Pat Patterson as a kid (he was a friend of his father and grandfather).
As for Cena, so long as he doesn't wrestle like this, he'll be fine.

I think Cena should be allowed to be himself more. He has charisma in his interviews, but somehow it gets dampened on Raw. Then again, the last time I saw Cena on TV was when he was a heel on Smackdown.

I understand what you're saying but I literally meant outside of wrestling altogether, not just backstage. I've heard Cena rides in Limos with Vince and drinks with him etc.
The wrestlers I mentioned and you commented upon all have good WORKING relationships with Vince.
The Kliq was business/wrestling related, Hall/Nash/HHH/HBK may have hung out outside of wrestling, but I'm pretty sure they didn't hang out with Vince although he may have appreciated what they were doing. The screwjob was business too.
Austin had a very good working relationship with Vince until 2002 just like you stated, but as for them having a personal relationship outside of wrestling where they hung out, as far as I'm aware that didn't happen either.
Rock buying his name out was because he was on good business terms with McMahon, again not because they personally hung out together or were good friends to the point of hanging out outside of the wrestling business.
If what you say about Taker and Vince riding motorcycles together is true, then I stand corrected on that point my friend.
I guess the fine line is defining the difference between a business relationship and a personal one. As far as I'm aware, John Cena has both a good business relationship and a good personal relationship OUTSIDE of anything wrestling orientated, with Vince McMahon.
