That would be toooooooo sweeeeeeet!
Also, I can understand the Rock dropping the gimmick and using his real name. He wants to be taken seriously as an actor; howoever, if he keeps making boring, bullshit dross like "The Gameplan" he'll be forced to come back to wrestling (whether he wants to or not) just to pay the bills!

Vince gets a piece of the Rock name. Thats why Dwayne doesn't want to use it. Would you like 30 percent of your pay going to your former employer?

You do realise that "The Gameplan" made over a $100 million and is consider a box office success which was very profitable for both Disney and The Rock.
Quote:
The film was produced at a modest $22 million budget. It opened at #1 at the box office grossing $22,950,971 in its first weekend in 3,103 theaters and averaging $7,396 per venue. It closed on February 18, 2008 with a final domestic gross of $90,636,983, and an additional $47,129,669 in other territories bringing the worldwide total gross to $137,766,652. This as well as the $45.79 million the film earned on DVD in its stay on the Top 50 chart, clearly makes this film an extremely profitable venture for Disney.
As of April 23, 2008 it has grossed $140,652,786.

Whether you like the film or not it certainly wasnt a failure
Consider the fact that the Rock personally made over $40 million between 2002 and 2005 from movies, the Rock aint never going to be short of money, the guy is made for life, he is a multi millionaire many times over.

Good point.
It is completely irrelevant whether or not we as wrestling fans like the movies that Dwayne makes. They're making money, and nobody can tell me that every audience is completely made up of his old WWE fans. Kids and they're parents are seeing these movies. If we don't like them, then we don't watch them. But other people obviously do.

Hells NO! I'd do what Dwayne did, then I'd choose to get Disney money over Vince money.
And when it comes to career moves, Dwayne made the right decision if you think about it. As the Rock in wrestling entertainment, he accomplished EVERYTHING one wrestling entertainer dreams of doing. He won numerous titles, headlined numerous WM's, became the top billed star, had great moments, worked his ass off building a solid character that fans stuck to and were entertained by, and most importantly, for many years he was THE FAN FAVORITE. If Dwayne stayed in the wwe, his character would have fizzled out. Sure he might be main-eventing and given feuds here and there, but he'd be nowhere near what he was years ago. He'd be boring. But since he was a natural, has a great look for the camera, and compared to most big men in the business, he can act. Hollywood needs a good action star, since they are hard to come by, the film industry knocked on his door, and since he accomplished everything he could with the wwe, he'd be an idiot to follow Flair's and Cena's opinions, and he took the next big step. The Film Industry.

Will be looking forward to Velvet Sky and here debut booty shot on film. Beats Cena's film career anytime.

Re: THE ROCK CHARACTER IS DEAD, INTERESTING THEORY ON WRESTLER'S EARLY MORTALITY RATE
"Well, contractually, my contract was up, it came and went last year, at the end of the year last year, and it was an interesting way it all came out. I wasn't contacted or notified or anything like that. It wasn't until my own team had basically congratulated me [saying], 'Oh my God, what a wonderful career you've had. Congratulations!' It's like, 'Really. It's done?' I wish it would have gone down a little bit different. For that part, I'm sad about it…"
A follow-up question is asked about whether The Rock was simply dropped from WWE without an offer of a contract extension. "It was never brought up. Yeah, basically. And I was over in Prague, as my man there was saying, filming, and again, it was just one of those things that kinda like hit like a ton of bricks. Because again, my own team, my managers and everybody, they're congratulating me. It moved me, because I had so much love from them, I thought well…"
Wow if I was ever as big as the rock i would be pretty pissed at that cause come on he is no less than austin and not having him go out the way austin or hogan has gone out he has to be pretty fucking pissed and act the way he has been acting.Who doesnt have an ego? everyone that big has twice the amount of ego that he has. No matter how much you are nice on the camera and how much he says to everyone I have the feeling he is mad the way he went out.Hopefully he comes back and goes out the way he was ment to go...Rock Vs Hbk maybe?

but imo the rock was only getting better as he got older. he was at his very best as the 'hollywood rock' and had one of my favourite feuds ever with...... the hurricane .
i wouldn't say that his acting career has exactly gone great. rated at 11% on rotten tomatoes and his last film, southland tales, only made $227,365 at box office.
grrr, its a shame he left. was so entertaining to watch...

Re: THE ROCK CHARACTER IS DEAD, INTERESTING THEORY ON WRESTLER'S EARLY MORTALITY RATE
The Rock made the right decision to let go of wrestling. It's not worth it anymore.
I don't know if all wrestlers break their necks. It's an interesting theory though.
What the hell are you thinking putting the entire topic title in caps?

Oh, and marks suck too... Do something useful instead of stupefying a wrestler to the point where he needs a cheer section.
