But why? This is the thing that confuses me the most, as soon as someone gets involved with WWE, the fans think that it's completely normal and pretty much demand for that person to make appearances every now and then for as long as the fans want, simply because they were part of the company at one time. WWE made The Rock a star, and that enabled him to go on to Hollywood. He's given up the name, so it would be ridiculous for him to make appearances if he wants to be taken seriously in movies.
eg. George Clooney was in ER, and that's where he became a star. Eventually, he decided to go into movies and he eventually left the show. I recall him making ONE appearance a year later in the last episode of the following season; he didn't talk or anything. He just hugged Carol and that was that. To my knowledge, he hasn't returned since and he's quite the respected actor/director in Hollywood. So, why would he ever need to go back to ER and keep making appearances? It would just be a step back. And as much as we love WWE, going from movies to WWE is a step DOWN.
It might be a silly example, but it's the same principle. WWE is entertainment, so is Hollywood. Rock made the jump and wants to stay there. Clooney did the same thing.

Of course, from a money and health perspective, it was good, but otherwise.. nah.
I would understand the rock (sorry, dwayne) much more if he was actually any good at acting. But he isnt. Hes gone from greatness to mediocrity.

A fake Rock fan, I see. Nothing new yet still pathetic on every level. The Rock is the greatest sports entertainer of all time. That's why you, Austin fans, Michaels fans, and Cena fans hate him to the core of your soul over how successful and loved he remains in the core of pop culture. He's a god in the wrestling industry. Everybody wants to be like him or wish they could emulate his mic skills to the point of some modicum of success but it's not possible without swagger jacking the man.
And his last movie made over $100 million at the box office and sold crazy copies on DVD/rental locales as it topped the DVD Billboard charts. That's not mediocrity ala Condemned or Marine. That's utter greatness.

Re: THE ROCK CHARACTER IS DEAD, INTERESTING THEORY ON WRESTLER'S EARLY MORTALITY RATE
The Rock did make occasional appearances from 2002-2007. They would have started to bury him if he had continued being in the WWE. Look at what they did to Austin. Sheriff of Raw? At least they couldn't soften up and weaken the Rock like they did to guys like Roddy Piper. If you compare Piper in his prime to now, it's sad and this is coming from someone who wasn't even watching wrestling when Piper was at the top of the WWE.
All The Rock needs to do is win an Oscar so that it will make his haters in pro wrestling, Hollywood, and the Internet even madder. That would be pure comedy.

UM, Excuse me.
Don't subject all Austin fans being Rock haters.
I give Rock all the credit in the world but I'm definately not a hater of him. He's one of my top 5 favourites ever.
And best entertainer? Sorry, that's only your opinion. A ton of people would pick Austin or Hogan over him.

Lmao at you. Youve completely missed the point of my post.
Firstly, i am a massive rock fan, and have been since i saw him debut. He is imo the most talented entertainer of all time, and just because i have a different opinion to you on his movie career does not make me 'fake'.
Its very simple hollywood. I challenge you to find me someone who is a dwayne Johnston fan. There are millions of 'rock' fans, but ive never met a fan of the actor. The people who watch his films are his wrestling fans.
Total fail dude.

I saw that episode. I can't even remember him saying any of that to be honest. Must've been a quick sentence and a change topic?
I recall him almost avoiding himself as being a wrestler, only recall his Dad/Granddad wrestling and his Samoan heritage and his movie career. I mean, I don't see that as a bad thing, but I didn't (and should have) expect it.

your post is a total fail indeed. if only wrasslin fans were to watch his movies, he would be a failure like hogan austin cena. couple of his movies have made more than 100mill dollars and some have come close. you need to face it your wrasslin hero the rock is now a mainstream movie star dwayne johnson.
