What if
Austin still would've been big despite what JBL says. He sounded in character the whole time with what he said.

what do you think?

WWE wouldn't have taken over WCW, and defeated them IMO, or atleast not for a good period longer.

HHH was meant to win it, but after the MSG Incident, SCSA was given the KOTR. The speech that he did after he won, was the single thing that got him over the most with the fans, which built him up to Bret, and eventually Vince. The Vince/Austin fued was the fued that got WWE back on top. With Russo's booking etc, there is nothing to say that WCW wouldn't have been defeated eventually, just in a longer time.

I'm inclined to agree. JBL probably was just in character...
