the invasion angle - what a waste
this has probably been done before, but im new so..
The invasion could have been the best angle of the attitude era if it was done right. all they needed to do was bring in the biggest stars, even if it meant having to wait for their contracts to expire (i think their contracts went up in november of that year, which means HHH would have made it). then you would have goldberg, hogan, kevin nash, scott hall, jeff jarret etc.. on team wcw. the WWE wouldnt have had to make stone cold switch sides or even hire ecw talent to fill out the invasion roster either.
imagine some of the fueds that could have branched off from it.
goldberg/austin - highly anticipated during attitude era
DDP/austin - both men were smash mouth tough guys
rock/booker - without the rock burying booker
rock/DDP - who is the real "peoples champion"
sting/taker - does this even need an explanation?
hogan/HHH - HHH would have recovered by then
jarret/jericho - im sure this would have been great to see
Even with the talent that was brought in could have made it a good angle. but they absolutely buried DDP and made booker t the rocks whipping boy. i think the whole angle was just vince's way of saying "my companies better than yours".

Re: the invasion angle - what a waste
The InvasioN angle would have been better had WWE had Sting, Goldberg, nWo, Flair, New Jack, Sandman and others working on the alliance.
ALso, if Vince MCmahon wasn't such a keen enemy against kayfabe then maybe the invasion angle would have been more believeable.
You might not be saying this had WWE bought WCW in secret.

I must say... I really enjoyed the Invasion Angle. It really pumped me up from the beginning till the end!
I don't get why so many people don't like it, in general!

Re: the invasion angle - what a waste
I liked the Invasion angle. Granted, it would have been more effective if some of the bigger names from WCW came in, I'm kind of glad they didn't. It gave us a chance to see what the younger stars of WCW could do in front of a WWE Audience, and I think the older veterans would have made the match quality drop. We all saw what happened less than a year later when the NWO came in, they pretty much sucked to put it politely, except for Hogan who did at least have some moderate success. The invasion angle gave us some great matches and moments, and 2001 was my favorite year in wrestling, largely in part due to the Invasion angle.

Re: the invasion angle - what a waste
I always thought that the nWo should have came in during the invasion angle, but I dont think McMahon wanted to do that.

Re: the invasion angle - what a waste
I thought the invasion angle was decent. It made the casuals go crazy. Its to bad they didn't get the true star power of each companys wrestlers. It had a lot of great fueds during that time. Like Angle/Austin, Rock/Jericho, and RVD/Hardy had a lot of great matches also.

Because it buried WCW, and it should have. I would have done exactly what Vince did, make sure EVERYONE at the end was dang well sure that WWF was at least 100 times better than WCW. That is what the final match did. RVD and Booker T were the only people from WCW and ECW, and the final 4 were Jericho, Rock, SCSA, and Angle, could there be ANY bigger **** you to the WCW than that. The last match their brand ever had, was won by the Rock, how great is that?

I have NEVER liked him, never cheered for him, he never got stale for me, cause he always sucked. I am not a bandwagon hater, I am just a Cena Hater. The whole rest of the WWE fans on Earth could love him, I will still hate John Cena the wrestler.
