WCW
right, i was thinking the other day about WCW and why did it go out of business, i have my reasons why i think it went out of business but why do you think it did so badly in 1999-2001 and why the matches where so horrible? this is mainly for the wcw fans so dont come on this thread saying wcw sucks or wwe rules or some bull like that, i want to know why you as the viewwers turned of our sets? and what your opinions are and what happened.

Re: WCW
WCW died because it refused to evolve. It kept the same small group of guys in the main events without creating fresh, new talent. Whenever it did do something right (Goldberg or NWO for example) it always managed to spoil it (turning Goldberg into a stalker). Even the NWO was lame towards the end. For a while, WCW was the better product; it had more exciting characters, better storylines and great talent. It's kind of sad that it got so shit towards the end. I miss WCW.

Re: WCW
When wcw was only focusing on their main superstars and people like rey, chris benoit, y2j werent getting any push. On the other hand wwe at the same time was promoting new talents mainly edge and christan. I also feel nWo became too big in size than it should be. Also eric bishoff was fired, i guess this was also one of their mistake

Re: WCW
Yeah, Bischoff getting fired kind of ruined WCW as well.

Re: WCW
WCW had quality wrestlers, just there booking was horrid and they misused talent.

Re: WCW
Overusing the nWo in storylines (3 years running they had the mian event spot) and refusing to book younger talent in old dried-up hacks spots at the top.

Re: WCW
1999 was do or die for WCW. They chose death.
Honestly, it's just as simple as that. Watch the matches, angles, and shows from 1998. Everything was set for them. Goldberg was every bit as big a name as Steve Austin. The New World Order was as popular as ever, especially with the Wolfpac stable. Merchandise was selling like nobody's business. And guys like Booker T, Eddie Guerrero, Chris Jericho, Rey Mysterio, Chris Benoit, Dean Malenko, DDP, and Raven all looked like major contenders to move up the ladder within a year.
By 1999, only DDP moved up.
And instead of following up on the pushes of ANY of the young stars on that list, WCW chose to "stay the course" with Hogan, Flair, Nash, and Savage.
It cost them. And it cost WCW fans.
By the time they realized their mistake, it was too late. The New Blood angle fell flat. Every attempt at correcting the mistake fell flat. Because it was just do or die. And you just don't get a "re-do" for a mistake that big and crucial.

Re: WCW
The reason why WCW died in March 2001 was because of a number of reasons:
1. Lots of talent of big guranteed deals in the six figures. This even included talent that never got used got huge paydays.
2. Not letting the next generation through Hulk Hogan and others never lets the like of Chris Beniot or Chris Jericho have a chance at the big time in WCW. They were considered by Kevin Nash as too small for main eventers.
3. Used up all there main event matches
4. Got too stale and never changed the gimmick of the NWO which was watered down after just a few months

Re: WCW
You guys should read "The Death of WCW," which pretty much chronicles all of the reasons that you guys are mentioning, but it also gets down to the definitive reasons why WCW actually died.
