Default Mick Foley

I've always wanted to make this thread, and just thought of making it today.

Mick Foley has always been one of my favorite wrestlers, sure he didnt have the best in-ring skills and he wasnt a great bulid, but just how he played his characters and all the memorible matches he's had over the years, make him a great wrestler in my mind.

I never hear alot of Mick Foley on these Forums, but I was just recently watching some of his old matches and I just remember how much I liked seeing him. And I just want to know from you guys what your views on Foley are?

I think it's sad that he doesnt wrestle anymore on a regular basis, but with all the things he's sacrificed in the ring i'm glad I grew up watching him, and he'll always go down in my mind as one of my all-time favs in the WWE.

So, Discuss

I, for one, am HUGE on Mick Foley. I didn't necessarily grow up on Cactus Jack...but Mankind. I fell in love with the character back when I was 6 years old (1996) and he grew on me ever since. As he changed from the "Deranged One" to Dude Love and to Cactus Jack ... and switching between the three, he continued to grow on me and I loved every minute of it. Sure his in-ring ability isn't Bret Hart like but he did what he was best at...putting on a show that made the fans happy. He would go out, every match and run knee first into the steps and flip over them...and still does...Why? Because he does it for the fans.

The way he developed his characters was just incredible, not many could, can or ever will do it like him. I remember seeing his debut promo as Mankind with his pet rat, George, a huge rat none-the-less. Yeah, he scared me but he set the stage for what this character Mankind would be like. And over the years, he began to grow on me, like I stated above...and I couldn't seem to get enough of him.

Man, thanks for creating this thread...I love watching him in the ring and listening to him on the mic...such passion he brings with him.

Yeah, I'm a bit of a Foley mark as well. He knows that he can't wrestle so he puts all of his energy into pure entertainment. A great guy in and out of the ring.

Check out his book, Tietem Brown, it's really good.

Yeah Mick Foley is pretty amazing. His Mic skills are definitely one of the top in the WWE and his in ring work is good, considering that most of his good matches were gimmick matches though
