Okay then, I did a review of No Mercy 2001 a while back and I guess I'll just post that here.

No Mercy 2001

*Contains Full Spoilers*

*The show starts with that old WWF opening theme. Ah, how I miss that. Then it starts with a nice little video hyping up No Mercy. Very well written video here. It puts Angle, Austin and RVD over showing each man’s motives and missions for tonight. Showing what they could lose and could virtually win. They all have the common goal of being the WWF Champion. Very good video. Then it cuts straight to the opening pyro which always delivers. Then it cuts to the very pumped up crowd*

*Note: Brief history here in case you didn’t now. This is during the whole Invasion thing. So you are going to have some WCW vs. WWE matches and regular WWE vs. WWE matches. I do believe this is the PPV that is coming off of Summerslam 2001, which was a very good PPV as well.

WCW Tag Team Championship
Hardy Boyz vs. Lance Storm and The Hurricane

Ah, the good old days of having some solid Tag teams. Although, I don’t really understand the duo of Lance Storm and Hurricane. Lita is still hanging out with the Hardy’s when she actually had some credibility. The Hardy’s are also the WCW Tag Team Champions. So they will be defending the belts here. They are pretty over here with this crowd. Ah, interesting to note that Ivory is with Lance Storm. So I’m guessing something will go down with Lita and Ivory or something later in the match. And Hurricane is with Mighty Molly haha. Hurricane and Storm didn’t get much of a reaction. The match is ready to begin now. Hurricane and Jeff start off with some good back and forth wrestling action and Hurricane a few comedic spots. Matt even back then had those stiff punches. A huge Lita chant goes on when Ivory interfered on the behalf of Storm. Hurricane hits a nice cross body off the top turnbuckle on Storm and the Hardies. Although, Storm sold the move even though it didn’t touch him. Some nice double team spots from Hurricane/Storm duo. Playing the heel duo beat down of one of the face competitors of the tag team here. This is a nice mix of styles with Hardies unorthodox and Storm and Hurricane playing up the pure wrestling. Hardies now begin to make a comeback. The crowd is feeling it. They seem to be getting into this story being told here with the false finishes. A sickening double kick on Matt by Storm/Hurricane. Lita/Molly/Ivory get into a cat-fight. Lita takes down Storm with her Litacurrana and then allows for Matt to hit the Twist of Fate and Jeff to hit the Swanton Bomb and Matt gets the cover for the win. This ones over as the Hardies retain their Titles.

Match Time: Not sure.

Opinion on the Match: A good opener. Nothing special or spectacular though. Just your ordinary tag team match with a few good spots here and there. A solid match though. The crowd was very into it and that is a good sign for the rest of the PPV.

Rating of the match: ***/*****

*We cut to showing RVD entering the arena as William Regal approaches him. Regal wants RVD to apologize for Frog Splashing Stone Cold. RVD plays up the *individual* ideal and hinting at a joining with Vince McMahon (at the time feuding with Steph and Shane of the Alliance).

*Then it cuts to Vince entering the arena in a limo and he is walking quick and Cole approaches him and helps him with his jacket. Vince gives the hint that he will help RVD tonight without directly saying it.

Kane vs. Test

This is at a time when both Test and Kane were sort of getting a push if you want to say that. More so Test than Kane though. I always thought Test had a good look, but I never really cared for him in the ring. This match is happening because Test cost Undertaker a match and that was at a time when Taker and Kane were together. Kane is actually pretty damn over with the crowd and that is awesome to see. Damn, they dropped the ball with Kane. The match gets started quickly the second Kane is in the ring. Just a pure brawl and rough hitting match right now. Your average big man vs. big man type of brawl. JR is putting over the big boot finisher of Test a lot. Kane is just overpowering Test at every turn here. Test makes the small comebacks here and there though. Kane did a cool spot where he military presses Test from the ring to the floor outside with ease. Test hits Kane with the ring bell and Nick Patrick (the Referee) plays it off as if he didn’t see it. Whoa, there are actually some Kane chants. Test shows some strength by picking up Kane in a suplex. Test plays a good heel and Kane plays a good face. Kane makes the comebacks when he needs to and Test puts him back down when he needs to. Good storytelling. Basic, but still good. Both are getting good heat considering the lack of build for this match. Kane playing up the frustration with the Referee Patrick. Test makes the big boot look very painful. Test has been bleeding from the mouth for a while now. Test hits two of his finishers and Kane still kicks out. Good drama here, crowd is into it. Kane hits a dropkick to Test holding a chair. Haha, that was sweet. Patrick distracts Kane while Test hits a low blow and then the big boot for the win. After the match, Kane chokeslams Patrick and then again. Then Kane teases the crowd and comes back and hits Patrick with a huge Powerbomb and does his cool corner pyro and leaves.

Opinion on the match: A cool match that proved Kane can in fact wrestle and wrestle very well for his size. It was a good brawling of two big men that told a basic, yet easy and good story. I enjoyed it and found it very entertaining. The crowd was digging it and they seem to be hot for everything.

Match Time: 10:05

Rating of the match: ***½/*****

*We cut to the Coach trying to interview Stone Cold, but gets Debra instead. Debra then tells Coach what Austin says from inside the room back to Coach even though Coach can hear everything he is saying. Pretty funny segment.

*Then it cuts to Stacy walking around in a robe with lingerie under and she runs into Matt Hardy and asks him his opinion on what she is wearing. Then Lita comes up and Matt plays it off like he wasn’t doing anything. Funny segment as well.

1st Ever Lingerie Match
Stacy Keibler vs. Torrie Wilson

They show a video explaining how these two woman got together for tonight’s match up. Basically, an overview of the feud between them is all about Stacy kissing Torrie’s man Tajiri and they get into it and the heat between them builds. Stacy as the heel and Torrie as the face. And if you don’t remember, a Lingerie match is basically just fighting in Lingerie. The crowd is obviously hot for this one. Both Torrie and Stacy come out in robes. Torrie has on a nice red lingerie outfit and the crowd pops big time for it. Stacy gets jealous and attacks Torrie and we are under way here. A lot of camera flashes going on. Some comedic comedy from Heyman and JR. Stacy then finally takes off her robe and she has on black lingerie. The crowd pops big for her. Stacy takes out a whip and whips Torrie with it to the pleasure of the crowd. Torrie wins when she does that move Tajiri does when he bounces off of the ropes and hits the elbow. Torrie rolls up Stacy for the win and adds insult to injury by slapping the butt of Stacy.

Match Time: 3:09

Opinion on the match: Eh, nothing special obviously. Just a few comedic spots like them rolling over the Referee and spots like Stacy wrapping her legs around the head of Torrie that gets crowd going. Obviously nothing amazing here. Although, who doesn’t like to see two woman rolling around in the ring in their underwear?

Rating of the match: *3/4/*****

*We cut to Cole interviewing Kurt Angle. Angle is over with the crowd. He talks about how he has his eyes set on RVD and Austin. Then Vince comes in and wishes Kurt luck. Angle is unsure of Vince and says he doesn’t need luck. He says he will win the Title and says its True...oh Hell ya its True. Its van damn True. Ah the good ol’ days of the goofy Kurt.

*We cut then to Lilian (I didn’t realize she was with the WWF back then) with Christian the Intercontinental Champion of the WWF. She talks about how he has to face his brother Edge in a Ladder match for his Title. Christian brings up how they were a tag team and basically saying how Edge stole Christian’s spotlight. Christian getting some heel heat; cheap though. Christian wants to prove that he is better than his brother and former tag team partner Edge.

WWF Intercontinental Championship
Ladder Match
Christian vs. Edge

Before the match, we see another video showing how these two got together for tonight’s match up. This was the time that Edge was getting a pretty good push. He just came off a King of the Ring win. He won the Intercontinental Title. Then lost it to Christian because Christian cheated. Then Christian joined the Alliance by beating up Edge after a set up. Basically playing up the jealousy of Christian over Edge. This is pretty genius, a ladder match between these two. The tag team that won all the Ladder matches and now the two people of that tag team facing each other. Ah, Christian has that horrible entrance music with the opera singing or whatever it is. I hated that. But he has the Orton pyro which is cool. Not much of a response for Christian though. Edge has that badass Rob Zombie song. Edge gets a pretty decent reaction from the crowd. Too bad Edge gets injured a year later or so because he was on such a roll and could have been amazing Champion back in the day. The match gets underway on the ramp way quickly with some right hands. Edge is playing the pissed off brother who wants revenge and Christian is sort of playing the “innocent” little brother here, but he takes an opportunity when he sees it. Edge does some smart ring work by working on the leg of Christian. Thus, making it difficult to climb a ladder. We’ll see if Christian sells it. Ah, they are fighting into the crowd now. Edge looks pissed. Edge is playing the “one step ahead of the little brother” role now. The ladder is being put to use now. “Christian into the Home Depot device.” - JR. JR is awesome. They do a cool ladder spot with Christian falling on one of the rungs and catching his crotch. I feel in pain watching it. “This ruins Edge chances of ever becoming an Uncle.” - Heyman. Haha, nice comedic commentary by Heyman. Some stiff ladder spots. Christian getting some nice heat here now. More stiff ladder spots. Ouch, an Electric chair onto the ladder. Some more innovative ladder spots. Funny spot where Christian is getting up and accidently hits his head on the ladder. Two high impact spots off the ladder. A heck of a spot where Edge spears Christian off the ladder. Ah, the days of the Intercontinental Title having credibility. A very cool ending with Edge doing the one man Conchairdo (sp) off of the ladder and Edge reaches up and grabs the Intercontinental Title to win the match.

Match Time: 22:12

Opinion on the match: This was a very good ladder match. I’ve seen better, but this was still very impressive and it had some cool innovative spots. It was a good to see two young talented men fighting here and putting on a heck of a match. The spots were well placed, sold efficiently and it all culminated into a pretty good deal here.

Rating of the match: ****/*****

*Then we go to WWF New York and we see Spike Dudley there and he is downing a few drinks. This was around the time when he got injured from the Dudley’s when they through Spike through a table from inside the ring out. Very sickening bump. A lot of “What” chants from the WWF New York crowd. Then a hot chick approaches Spike and asks him to go back with him somewhere.

WWF Tag Team Championships
Dudley Boyz vs. Big Show and Tajiri

I always thought the Dudley’s had cool pyro. They are the Tag Team Champions here. Not much of a reaction. Big Show and Tajiri come out and they get a mild reaction. Not sure about the pairing of these two. I guess they didn’t have anything else for the Big Show. Bubba and Tajiri start the match here and Bubba plays the bigger, power game and Tajiri trys to get some kicks in, but the Dudley’s begin double teaming him and it becomes too much. Man, Tajiri’s kicks are so stiff. Ah, 2001, Big Show was in good shape and was looking good. Big Show basically overpowers both Dudley’s. Tajiri hits a nice canon ball over the top rope on the Dudley’s. JR tells us Tajiri has a degree in Economics because that matters in this match haha. JR though, is very good at putting over everyone in the match. That to me, is why JR is the best there is and ever will be. The crowd hasn’t really been cheering much or booing much during the match. They are kind of dead with a few mild chants here and there. Dudley’s begin to get a lot of heat when they cheat and hit that “Wazz Up” move on Tajiri. Yep, the crowd is awake now. Damn, Big Show is moving quick. Tajri gets the green mist on the Referee and then Rhino hits a gore on the Big Show and damn was that sick. Big Show is now out of it on the outside. Tajri’s finish is so sick, so stiff. Tajri gets hit with the 3D and D-Von covers him for th win and the Dudley’s retain their Tag Team Championships.

Match Time: 9:30

Opinion on the match: It was your basic formula for a Tag Team match. The heel Tag Team beats a member of the face tag team down for a little bit, the face Tag team makes the come back, but comes up short and ends up losing. Although, the comebacks were well timed and the crowd was very into them in the end. Not a bad match, but nothing too special to make it standout from your ordinary television tag team match.

Rating of the match: ***/*****

*It cuts to Rhino backstage and Regal approaches him and Rhino is sick of the Alliance being treated like a joke.

*Then it cuts to that promo saying, “Don’t try this at home.” Good video showing the injuries wrestlers get.

*It cuts backstage to Booker T and Test and they are celebrating. Booker says he will take down Taker and then the entire Alliance will finally have respect for Booker T. Shane gives them a pep talk. “Undertaker will be one dead sucka.” - Booker T.

*Click Click Boom is the theme of No Mercy and of course Saliva sings it. Good song. Just perfect for this PPV’s theme.

The Undertaker vs. Booker T

Booker T comes out to not much of a reaction from what I can hear. “Rolling” and Undertaker comes out on his bike and the crowd gets standing up and waving their hands and Taker gets one of the best reactions so far in the night I’d say. Undertaker revs his bike a bit. A badass entrance for sure. Undertaker looks to be in great shape here. Booker starts the match by attacking Taker on the outside. I think Taker has one of the best punches in the business. This is the story of basically the up and coming superstar vs. the veteran. Undertaker takes Booker to school early on here. Booker T begins to get aggressive on the Deadman. Undertaker is underrated when it comes to selling because he can in fact do it and pretty well. Undertaker starts working on the shoulder for old school. Crowd pops big for Old School. Taker seems to be dominating this match so far. Booker begins to swing the momentum though. Haha, Taker punches Booker and Booker accidently falls into a guy who spills his cups of beer. You aren’t suppose to spill the beer. The crowd pops big for when Booker teases doing the spinerooni. Taker makes his comeback and begins dominating again. Hitting some signature spots. Booker T keeps coming back though. Booker does the spinerooni and the crowd pops big and small boos. Booker goes to do the ten punches on Taker in the corner and Taker hits the Last Ride and covers Booker T for the pin and the win.

Match Time: 12:10

Opinon on the match: It was a pretty decent match. A good back and forth affair with Taker dominating in the beginning and then Booker dominating and then Taker makes small comebacks well timed and Booker stops the comebacks short and then finally Taker hits the big move that puts Booker away. So a pretty basic match, good story and an overall decent match here.

Rating of the match: ***1/4/*****

*We cut backstage where we see Chris Jericho walking and Coach approaches him. Jericho tells the Coach that he has to go win the big one.

WCW Championship
The Rock vs. Chris Jericho

The Rock is the Champion here and Jericho the challenger. They start by showing a video hyping up the match before it begins. The feud was centered around Jericho screwing the Rock out of a match with RVD and they begin to get bitter with each other. They start brawling and some tension between them. It is all centered around Jericho not able to win the big one. Good video. Jericho gets a good reaction when he comes out. The Rock comes out and it is the Rock, so of course he gets a good reaction. As noted by JR, last year at No Mercy the Rock lost the WWF Title. A bit of foreshadowing of this match. The crowd is alive for this match and they start a quick Rocky chant. Rock and Jericho start the match with a lock up in the center of the ring. Mild Rocky Sucks chants. The Rock is sort of playing of course that Great One role and wrestling as if superior to Jericho. Some good back and forth wrestling in the beginning. It quickly turns into a brawl. The crowd seems a bit split here. But they are indeed hot for this match. Jericho is just one step ahead Rock here at this point. Rock sucks at doing chops. Leave it to Flair. Rock though, is very good at selling Jericho’s offense. Heyman continues playing up the fact that Jericho has never won the big one. Things move to the outside where we get a bit more physical. Heyman tells JR to get some Stacker 2 so he can get out of their quicker when the wrestlers come over to the announce table and JR responds by saying, “Ya, give me a raise.” I found that funny. Just some good back and forth action here with Rock and Jericho. Rock getting some boos here as he knocks down Jericho. Rock has been dominating for the last few minutes now. Jericho hits Rock with his own Rock Bottom. Rock does a crappy sharpshooter in my opinion. The Rock starts preparing the Spanish Announce table. Poor guys always having their table screwed up. Rock just hit a very hard Rock Bottom on Jericho through the table, that was awesome. Rock sort of playing a heel role here judging by the expressions on his face. Stephanie now comes out to interfere. And Rock hits a Rock Bottom on her. This allow Jericho to his a full nelson face buster on the steel chair and Jericho pins the Rock and Jericho wins. Jericho is the new WCW Champion! After the match, the Rock picks up a chair and it seems like he is going to hit Jericho with it. Rock just hands him the chair, the same chair that Jericho used to beat the Rock. Kind of weird.

Match Time: 23:44

Opinion on the match: Pretty damn good match. It proves that the Rock is a very underrated worker and that Jericho is of course very good. It was a great back and forth action and drama filled match with a lot of false finishes. It had some cool spots and high spots, but they were well placed. I liked how in the beginning they start with traditional wrestling and then it quickly becomes a brawl and then a race to win. Good match. Very entertaining. Although, I found the finish a bit lackluster. He could have used a different move to finish off the Rock. Jericho’s expression after he won was great. He seemed truly happy.

Rating of the match: ****/*****

*Backstage we come upon the dressing room of Vince McMahon and remember nobody is sure what impact he will make on the following match.

WWF Championship Match
Triple Threat
Stone Cold Steve Austin vs. Rob Van Damn vs. Kurt Angle

Stone Cold is the Champion and Rob and Kurt are the challengers here. They show a video further hyping up the match before it begins. Stone Cold is jealous of Rob Van Damn becoming friendly and the leader of the Alliance. Austin is back and ready to become the leader again. So Foley is the new WWF Commissioner and Foley makes this match. Foley asks RVD if he wants to go through with the match and Austin is pissed off because RVD accepts the idea to do the match. Austin thinks RVD is against him. Then two weeks in a row, RVD hit a Frog Splash on Angle and then Austin. RVD then walks out of the limo of Vince McMahon adding to the surprise element of the match here with Vince swirling around it. Pretty good storyline behind this match. Great video. Anyhow, on to the match and Kurt gets a good reaction when he comes out. This was when Angle was like the big face hero for the WWF. The Fink reminds us that this match is No Disqualification. Adding to the all ready drama-filled match. RVD gets a good reaction when he comes out. RVD at the time, was the only real face of the Alliance. Austin comes out to the badass Disturbed theme music and gets a good reaction as well. Austin is so good at playing his role effectively. This match is finally ready to begin here. Austin goes to RVD making sure RVD is on Austin’s side. Angle starts the match by hitting German’s on Austin and RVD and the crowd is popping bit time. Then Austin and RVD begin to double team Angle. RVD is over big time as he teases a confrontation with Austin. Austin takes control of the match by beating up both RVD and Angle. A funny moment I thought. Austin goes for the Stunner and Angle grabs his foot and Austin yells, “Shit.” Austin hits a good spinebuster. Austin begins working on the legs of RVD and he keeps knocking Angle back out of the ring, smart. A lot of “What” chants from the crowd. Austin is playing the aggressive heel. Angle is playing the aggressive face that just won’t go away. And RVD is playing the popular face that gets his ass kicked but won’t stay down and takes the high risks to get it done. A lot of conflicting styles in this match. Some reason, even though I all ready know the outcome from seeing this before, I want RVD to win. They must be telling the story in the ring pretty damn good then. Angle hits a sweet Belly-to-Belly when RVD goes for a kick and Angle catches it and then does the Belly-to-Belly. Angle has THE greatest moonsault I’ve ever seen. With all three competitors down on the outside. Vince walks down to the ringside. Vince hits Austin with a steel chair from behind and remember it is No Disqualification. RVD hits the Frog Splash and it looks like it will be over. But Angle rolls in the ring and stops it. The crowd is all on their feet now. Austin gets a bad cut on the back of his head. Now Shane comes out and takes out Angle on the outside. This leads to Vince and Shane fighting. A pretty funny brawl there. This leaves Austin to a Stunner on RVD and it was a sick Stunner and Austin covers RVD to retain the WWF Championship. Vince can’t believe it. The crowd seems upset that RVD didn’t win. Austin playing up the story of just barely escaping with the Title.

Opinion on the match: Well I’ve seen this match before and actually the first time I saw it, I wasn’t that impressed and didn’t care for it as much. Now amazingly, the second time I watched it, I was impressed and I loved the match. It had a great storyline behind it. The match was drama packed. The match told a great story. All these conflicting styles in the ring. It made for one heck of an entertaining match with some good spots here and there. Then add Vince and Shane to the drama and it makes for a cool match. It would have been cool to see RVD come out the winner, but nonetheless a very good match in my opinion. Probably my second favorite Triple Threat I’ve seen right behind the Vengeance 2002 Triple Threat between Angle, Taker and The Rock.

Match Time: 9:10

Rating of the match: ****/*****

Overall Opinion on the show: It was a damn good show. Not that bad for a little No Mercy show. It had two great Main Events in Jericho/Rock and Austin/RVD/Angle and one saw Jericho win the big one and one saw the bad heel Austin retain. Both Main Events delivered and were very entertaining and the crowd was into each one. The under-card wasn’t too bad either. You had solid matches in Undertaker/Booker T and Kane/Test. Nothing special, but they were solid. You had fun Tag Team matches for the WCW and WWF Tag Team Championships. You had one hell of a Ladder match and a very innovative one at that between Christian and Edge for the Intercontinental Title. Then you had your beauty match between Stacy and Torrie. So this PPV in my opinion, had something for just about everyone. It had some entertaining, fun and good matches. A great PPV during a not so good overall storyline of the Invasion because of it being poorly booked. The crowd was hot for just about every match all night long and that makes a PPV even that much better. So overall, great PPV I’d say.

Rating of the PPV: Now if we were to average the ratings I had for each match it be about a: ***1/4/***** show. However, I feel it to be a bit better than that. So my overall rating of the PPV would be about a: ****/*****. I really feel it to be a 4 star PPV.

As for your question, I haven't personally seen any of them. But I've heard many, many good things about the Pillman DVD. The matches alone are worth it, much less the documentary.

I Just bought the Loose Cannon dvd, and it was damn pretty great! I Didn't know much about him but I thought it would be good to hear about it. It is a great interesting story about him, by people I guess who really knew him, I just don't agree with the fact that how in a way, they try to pinn all the blame of his passing on him, in a way they did, but it's a real emotional story even if I really didn't know him. I Haven't checked out the extras yet, but for the story itself it's worth the buy.

Lets see, I guess I will post this easter egg while it's still fresh in my head, two easter eggs for the Mcmahon DVD. If you go to the extas menu on disc one and highlight "the sleeping giant", and hit the left button twice, you see HHH telling the story that Vince told him about the big show.

For the second egg, Highlight the "Vince training video", and push the left button twice to see why you never see vince chasing the chicken, only chasing the camera.

Yup, I would also like some reviews for that.

Also, I got 50 bucks to blow on some DVD's on monday. I've narrowed my choices down 4 DVD's.

1. The ultimate Ric Flair collection.

2. Tombstone: History of the undertaker.

3. The monday night wars. (is it a 2 disc?)

4. Bret Hart: The best their is/was/ever be.
