I picked it up Monday, a day before the official release. Wal-Mart stocks their stuff early sometimes. Well worth it for the old school fan.

They interview a lot of the AWA stars from the past, not just WWE guys who used to work there. Lots of good stuff from Nick Bockwinkel, Baron Von Rachke and Eric Bischoff. They were the highlights, lot of good stuff to say.

You get the backstory on Hogan leaving, Stan Hansen no-showing and going to Japan after winning the AWA title, why Larry Zybysko, supposedly, won the AWA title and why the Superclash PPV's flopped.

I still have to watch second CD with the matches. The extras are awesome too, lots of stuff from Nick Bockwinkel and a great story from Bischoff on how he ended up becoming an announcer for the AWA.

Picked up the AWA DVD today. Might watch it tonight. Will give my thoughts once I finish.

Thanks for the info on the AWA DVD. I was thinking about Netflixing that one. Glad to hear it's worth it.

To add to discussion; when I bought WM 20, there was the Hogan DVD at similar price, did I make a good buy?

SamoaJoeBucsFan, I too love the Bucs, I hope they smash the Cowboys tommorrow. Hopefully Gradkowski can up his game versus the ball hawk Roy Williams. Nice avatar, at least I like it.

I love Gradkowski. I'm wearing the jersey right now. How many people do you know with a Grads jersey? Lol. I don't think we'll win, but hey, ya never know.

I think you made the right choice as far as DVD's go. I like Hogan, don't get me wrong, but I really enjoyed Mania 20, and IMO, Mania's are always worth the money.

I watched the Eddie DVD last night, and I must say I am very disappointed. I'm glad to hear he overcame his demons and all that, but how about we hear some more about his wrestling career? There wasn't enough WRESTLING in the documentary. I hope the extras make up for that, as I expect them too. All in all, the documentary is disappointing if you're looking to hear about his wrestling career.

They used to show classic AWA stuff on PPV when I was a little kid. The matches were pretty decent. Especially the Road Warriors and The Rockers. Bockwinkle, Hogan, Andre, all of them were there so you know the matches were at least ok.

I hope the matches on the AWA set have good video quality. A couple matches on the Piper DVD from the early 80's are horrible. Worse than VHS.

You're right some of the quality of the AWA stuff that I've seen is not very good. As I said before they used to run best of's on PPV and the quality was awful.
