Nah, I picked up SvR and The Da Vinci Code instead. Didn't really have the budget for all 3
I wanna know if the documentary is any good though.
I'll probably pick it up in a couple weeks anyway.

Re: Official WWE DVD Help & Review Thread
I'm going to get the Piper DVD soon, it's 3 discs so you know it's going to be crammed full of entertaining matches and great Piper's Pit promos. But yeah, like -Mystery- said, anyone actually get it yet?

I will say that Backlash had the weakest of all the Jericho/Benoit matches, but then again the worst Benoit/Jericho match is better than a lot of matches. I liked Show and Angle match for the same reason you liked the Brothers of Destruction squashing DDP and Kanyon. Eddie and Essa Rios also had a fantastic match and yes Scotty and Dean Malenko is one of the more underrated PPV matches.
The only bad match on that show was APA vs Bull Buchanan and Bossman. The Dudleys vs T and A was better than it had any right to be. T and A was genuine surprise and the post match table spot with Trish was great. The crowd loved it and it really got the Dudleys over at that point.

You do make good points for you what you said, i actually forgot about Eddie/Rios match up, short but good. I can't actually remember all of the T & A vs Dudleys match up but i remember it being so-so. Don't get me wrong, i liked Show/Angle it was funny but as far as a ppv goes it just stinks to have a less than 3 min match take up space is all, kinda like Umaga vs Eugene at Vengeance of this year. Well i do agree with you and now i know what you mean by showing those shows to him.

Re: Official WWE DVD Help & Review Thread
So I've just watched the Piper DVD. It was good. Has his best matches on it, in full, which I have yet to look at, since I have a copy of just about every event ever held anyway.
The Piper's Pit segments are great, and are my favorite part of the compilation. Funny, entertaining, and most of all nostalgic. Great pieces of history to have on film. Took me back. Has just about every Pit ever on it, and at the very least, the significant ones.
The documentary portion was good, but I was honestly expecting a bit more. Piper is so controversial, in and out of the ring, that I just wanted more dirt. It dug into some of the serious issues, but just when you wanted it to dig deeper, it pulled out. The documentary will be wonderful for all the younger fans, which is most of you on this site, bringing you up to speed on Piper's history. I think the problem for me was that I watched it all happen over my lifespan, so the DVD didn't tell me much more than I already knew. It was nice to hear comments from some of the other personalities regarding Roddy, and he seems to be held high by everyone. ALthough, I would have liked to hear more from guys like Flair, Hogan, and Heenan, and instead the lion's share of outside comments came from Jim Ross and Bruce Prichard. But again, a very informative "kayfabe" look at Piper's whole career.
Ratings:
For the Layman - 10/10
For the Old School Fan- 6.5/10

Thanks for the review. I'm very sorry to hear the DVD was kayfabed though. I hate when they do that.
