For all of these I'm leaving out WrestleMania. IMO that's a given as one of the better PPV's of the year. Of the 5 I would choose Mania 17 by far with 19 second, 20 in third place, followed by 18, then 16.
2000: This was a decent year in wrestling. Some great matches between Rock and Triple H.
Royal Rumble: Always a good event. Triple H vs Cactus Jack in the Street Fight was awesome. IMO it put Trips on the map and it is one of my favorite matches to this day.
SummerSlam: Kurt Angle gets his first title shot in a Triple Threat with the Rock and Triple H.
Armageddon: Just for the six man Hell in a Cell, I would get this. I didn't really enjoy the PPV, but I have to recommend it just because of that match.
If you're not into the whole Cell thing, I would go with King of the Ring. Kurt Angle wins it and it's just a very good tourney.
2001: The year of the Invasion and the return of the Rock, and of course the heel turn of Stone Cold.
Mania was awesome. If you don't already have it, buy it. That is ten times better than anything I could list here.
Backlash: Two Man Power Trip (Triple H and Stone Cold) battle The Undertaker and Kane in a 4 title match. That's without a doubt the highlight of the card.
SummerSlam: Austin-Angle in a bloody one for the title. One of my favorite matches of all time. Plus the Rock vs Booker T for the WCW belt.
Survivor Series: Good one with WCW/ECW vs WWF.
King of the Ring and Invasion get honorable mention from me. I enjoyed both events with Edge winning the KOTR and Invasion being the beginning of the WCW/ECW stuff.
2002: The year of the brand split.
No Way Out: Stone Cold vs Jericho, Angle vs Triple H, and the return of the NWO. Not a great event, but it holds some significance.
SummerSlam: Brock vs Rock for the title.
Survivor Series: First ever elimination chamber match.
Honorable mention goes to the KOTR with Brock winning and a 3-way title match between Undertaker, Angle, and Rock. I would also suggest checking out Armageddon with the 3 stages of hell match between Triple H and Shawn Michaels.
I will stop there because I haven't seen all of 2003 or 2004 yet. I am in the process of doing that through Netflix. Definitely check out WrestleMania from both years though.

Re: Official WWE DVD Help & Review Thread
Thank you, SamoaJoeBucsFan. I value your opinion on wrestling DVDs so dearly. If I can I will definately get WM X-7. I am only getting like 1-2 DVDs and I want something older because my mom is doing her shopping off Ebay because it's cheaper and less stressed plus you can find miscalleneous things not available in stores. I would request for her to get more but she recently bought me my new laptop so money is tight for a couple of months.
Anyways, I'm just going to put down everything you've reccomended besides Armaggedon 2002 because I have it already. The three stages of Hell was quite a show. It had good legnth and a great finish. Yet, I still wonder about the point of having HBK as champion for just one month, could you clear me up on that or is it forever un known?

Eddie Vs Rey 8/10 I really enjoyed this match.
Money in the bank ladder match 9/10 I love ladder matches this one was great.
Undertaker Vs Orton 8/10 excellent performance by Taker.
Michaels Vs Angle 10/10 possibly the best match ever, so many great moves and reversals.
JBL Vs Cena 2/10 absolute shite.
Batista Vs Triple H 6/10 pretty good mat ch thanx to Triple H, not good enough to main event wrestlemania though.
Overall 8/10 worth buying.

Haw, I'll rate it too. I loved the DVD.
Eddie vs Rey
Awesome start for WM21, great way to kick it off by firing up the fans. Good fast pace and lucha libre. Mysterio hits a nice corkscrew plancha during the match. Eddie took kinda long to sinch in the surfboard.
***3/4
MITB Ladder Match
I liked this one more than the first one. Awesome for a second match, good way to fire up the crowd for the ME's and such. Good spots all throughout the match with Jericho doing a plancha, followed by Christian run up splash, Shelton with the Senton, and Kane with a clothesline onto everyone. Benoit's arm selling was sick.
***1/2
Randy Orton vs The Undertaker
If I had to name all my favorite Orton matches ever, this would be number 2 (Orton/Foley was better)Good phycology in here, with Orton winning the speed/resliant game. Bob Orton's interference was unnecessary. Sick ass RKO reverse from the Chokeslam position.
***3/4
Shawn Michaels vs Kurt Angle
Sick matchup, the story was built up fantastically. The promo about Angle being jealous and such was sweet. The crowd wasn't too fired up here but the wrestling owned. With Shawn beating Kurt in his own game. Shawn kicks out of everything in Kurt's arsenal including the top rope angle slam. Good spot by HBK with the springboard turning splash onto Kurt not breaking the table. A few slow spots may have been better not there. Good ending with HBK in the Ankle lock for 1~2 mins.
****3/4
As for the rest, they're decent/average matches (the main events) And I don't rate womens matches, but the 4 matches I did rate should make the PPV already worth it.
EDIT: my bad for the double post BTW.

That's a really good question. To me it made no sense at the time and it makes no sense to this day. But when you really think about it, it would have been a huge letdown to have all that Shawn buildup, and the Chamber, and then have HBK lose. I think they realized they needed a heel champ for Mania also, so they stuck the belt back on Triple H. Just my opinion.

Yeah i know someone else helped out but here is my two cents....
2001
Wrestlemania X-7
King Of The Ring
Summerslam
Those are the 3 best in 01, don't let anyone tell you otherwise
2002
Wrestlemania X8
Summerslam or King Of the Ring
Surivior Series(best show of the year)
2003
Wrestlemania 19(my fav mania the 5 main events are great)
Vengeance
Summerslam
Survivor Series
Lets just say 03 didn't have to greatest PPVs but those 4 have stellar matches.
2004
Unforgiven
No Mercy
Surivor Series
Those 3 are great, trust me. but Backlash has Foley/Orton and Mania has Eddie/Angle, Benoit/Shawn/HHH & Jericho/Christian which are all very good match too.
I hope that helps, and i have seen all of them too.

Re: Official WWE DVD Help & Review Thread
You must get 2000 Backlash and 2003 Vengeance, IMO those are the two best WWE ppv's of all time NOT COUNTING THE BIG 4.
Surprised no ones mentioned 2001 Royal Rumble
-Great Rumble match, not as good as 92 or 04, but the most entertaining
- Dudleys/E and C (***), Angle/HHH(***3/4) and Jericho/Benoit Ladder Match(****)are all excellent matches
Mania's and a lot of the other big 4 arent that hard to find even for a decent price. So I'd get some of the other reccommended shows instead.
You can get anything on Ebay, but sometimes the prices will be jacked up, especially for those hard to find shows.

you do have a good point for the Rumble though, it was a soild rumble show and the ladder match up is killer. Backlash 00, meh but no disrespect to you of couse, i just didn't feel it was all great. Benoit/Jericho had a very dissapointing ending, Show/angle was 3 min, The Main Event came off well but i remember it being overbooked and the Dudleyz match up was only very solid due to Trish finally getting powerbombed. One of the best matches at Backlash 2000 was Malenko vs Scotty, wow what a match up they had there. Hey if you want to reccommend it you can, but i feel that the royal rumble 2000's Street Fight was better than that whole show. I hope you don't take that the wrong way dude, just stating my point towards it.

Re: Official WWE DVD Help & Review Thread
I liked Vengeance 2005 as it had Angle/HBK, Kane/Edge, Cena/Christian/Jericho and Batista vs. Triple H in HIAC.

Best Batista Match Ever
I thought it was a great show, it came off very well, sure Shelton vs Carlito was a bit slower than normal and the womens match was meh, it still was a good show.
