Re: Official WWE DVD Help/Discussion/Review Thread
Before I say this, I just want to say that Michaels is one of my top 10 favorite guys to watch ever. This post is in no way meant to take away from what he is, which is one of the best workers in North American history. Here it goes...
Has anyone else noticed that a lot of his all time great matches seem to fall in a handful of areas:
1. Gimmick
2. Matches where one guy (particularly Michaels) blades
3. Matches with a table spot.
I know he's had some all timers, but I bet a lot (haven't really counted) of his **** matches from 94 on have fallen in these categories. He doesn't have that many ****1/2 matches that don't fall into this category (off the top of my head, vs. Austin at KOTR 97, Jericho at Mania and Angle at Vengeance are exceptions, I bet there are more but I haven't really sat down and analyzed). Maybe you can say this about a ton of guys in the WWE, I'm just concentrating on Shawn because he seems to have more matches like this than anyone.

Re: Official WWE DVD Help/Discussion/Review Thread
Great review Clique. Was a good read, you were pretty accurate with most of the ratings as well! Especially with the important matches with Eddie, Calo and Liger. I would of had the outside match vs Psichosis a little lower but still an awesome read.
BTW, you haven't seen Savage vs Warrior. The fuck is wrong with this picture? LOL, you're missing one of the best stories ever told in a wrestling match.
Right on Wes, I'm a D-Lo fan as well and rated that match very high also....

I think Vince's best match is actually the one against Hogan. Not seen the Austin steel cage match and I think the Shawn one is too much of a squash to be the best. For sheer entertainment value (Piper coming out is still amazing) the one with Hogan is his best.

They're both 4 stars for me but WM22 is just... better
DLO/Xpac Fully Loaded 98 - **3/4, decent effort, loved the Nation v DX feud. (The Nation went 3-0 against DX on this PPV btw )

Jeff Jarrett was a pretty amazing worker, actually. Don't let his old shell of his self in TNA fool you.

I didn't say he wasn't good, just that his body of work isn't that impressive. He really didn't have alot of ****+ matches in either the WWF or WCW, TBH he's actually probably had more in TNA than he ever did in either of the big two.

You think Shawn vs Vince is the full 4?
BTW D-Lo is awesome, could put on a good match almost all the time.

Yeah , was very exciting live and on rewatches and had me fully engrossed with the ladder teases, sick bumps and JRs hilarious commentary. The whole event is awesome really, save for Boogey/Booker and the playboy match.

Never seen the Raw match between Orton and Benoit, but I thought their SummerSlam match was rather awesome.

Re: Official WWE DVD Help/Discussion/Review Thread
Vince v.s Michaels *** maybe ***1/4. Other than some fun spots it was pretty boring.

Re: Official WWE DVD Help/Discussion/Review Thread
Yeah, I had Michaels/Vince at ***. Not really much else other than HBK beating Vince up.
