Re: Official WWE DVD Help & Review Thread
just in case anyones wondering the ric flair dvd has 10.5 hours of material, including great matches against ricky steamboat, dusty rhodes, barry windham, sting.
The first disc consists of him vs dusty rhodes in a steel cage at starrcade 85 , other matches against rhodes, and 1 match against barry windham.
The 2nd disc consists of 2 matches against ricky steamboat
which i must add, are amzing matches.
And sadly i havent watched the emtire ric flair dvd set (just got it) but it was supposed to come with one of those little book things that tells you what exactly is on the dvds but tbhat wasn't in there.
so four 4 out of 5, but iam a huge flair fan so that might be osmewhat biased.

Re: Official WWE DVD Help & Review Thread
I just finished watching No Way Out 2004. If anyone would like a Review let me know and I will get one up as soon as possible.
I should be receiving Chris Benoit's DVD within the next couple of days from Netflix and I will review that for anyone who wants the review. Just ask what I have and I will review it. Especially No Way Out 2004 currently.

No Way Out 2004 Review (SmackDown PPV)
NO SPOILERS
Basham Brothers vs Rikishi and Scotty 2 Hotty (WWE Tag Team Titles)
About what you would expect. I didn't like that they added the woman to the match to make it a 3-2 advantage. Overall, it was just okay. Nothing really special here. Rikishi attempts a Stinkface on the woman and doesn't get it. Sorry, I just really wasn't into this. I'm trying not to give out any spoilers so it's hard to talk about this one.
Jamie Noble vs Nidia
Not liking all the female involvement. Making Noble wear the hood was a good idea to give him a disadvantage. This was really more of a comical match than anything. A shame really. Considering the huge amount of talent that Noble has. Another match that was hard to get into.
World's Greatest Tag Team vs APA
I really liked this one. Great match-up of power against technical prowess. You can really tell that Ron Simmons (Faarooq) was starting to slow down, because Bradshaw (JBL) worked 90% of the match. I like the match and I actually liked the ending. Bradshaw looked very strong and so did the WGTT. It seemed like a handicap match, but it wasn't. Overall, the best match so far.
Rhyno vs Hardcore Holly
This match came after an AWESOME Goldberg-Brock segment. Goldberg had a "ticket" to the event from Stone Cold, and he locked horns with Brock. It's a shame that they're Mania match was so terrible. The other bad part of this segment was that it really gave away who was going to win the main event. But yeah, Holly and Rhyno was a snooze fest. All I could think about the whole match was Goldberg and Lesnar. Horrible place on the card for this one. It should have been the curtain-jerker.
Rey Mysterio vs Chavo Guerrero (Cruiserweight Title)
One of the better matches these two have had. Good little recap of the feud before the match too. Mysterio had some boxer with him and Chavo had his dad. Great match, but the finish was horrible. Definitely the best match on the card up to this point. The finish was just unfortunate. They could have come up with something a little better.
Eddie Guererro vs Brock Lesnar (WWE Title)
Wow, the package before this really shows how last minute and thrown together this match was. Just goes to show how good alternate plans can turn out. Anyway, the match was very good, probably the MOTN just because of the awesome atmosphere and the love for Eddie. This match really makes me remember how much I miss the guy. Same for Lesnar to be honest. He was actually a decent heel. He doesn't get the credit he deserves for the things he did in WWE. Since everyone knows who won this match I will issue a SPOILER WARNING!! DO NOT READ FURTHER IF YOU DON'T WANT TO KNOW THE OUTCOME!!! Eddie wins. I like the way he won also. Usually having someone run-in and help a face win a title, makes the winning face look weak. But since Eddie's character was all about the lying, the cheating, and the stealing. Just doing whatever it takes to win, it was ok. Plus, Eddie had to finish him off with the Frog Splash. Great finish and what an eruption from the crowd. Without the crowd reaction and this match, this PPV would have sucked.
3 1/2 out 5 (Mostly because of the main event and the awesome reaction for Eddie)

Re: Official WWE DVD Help & Review Thread
You forgot the triple threat match : Kurt Angle vs. Big SHOW vs. Cena...
Overall I agree, the undercard wasnt anything to memorable but not horrific either. But what makes this pay per view is the last three matches, just tremendous matches imo.

Re: Official WWE DVD Help & Review Thread
I just realized I forgot it. Here's the review for that match.
Angle-Big Show-Cena (Triple Threat for #1 Contendership)
It was pretty obvious who was going to win this one. Decent rap by Cena before the match, but this is when WWE started to ruin him. They made him more of a face then a tweener or a heel. IMO this was the beginning of the Cena character getting to where it is right now. Anyway, good match. All of the guys looked very strong. No one was made to look weak. The only problem with this is that the winner gets a shot at WrestleMania. For the biggest PPV of the year, there wasn't alot of time given to build a feud between the two men. The match that they had at Mania was awesome, but there just wasn't time to build the feud to make it more memorable.
I can't believe I forgot that. It was a decent match actually. I agree with what you said though, the undercard sucked!
I'm about to re-watch WrestleMania XX tomorrow. I will drop by a review if anyone wants me to?

Re: Official WWE DVD Help & Review Thread
My pick for underrated DVD/PPV of the week is Backlash '03....I didn't think it was as bad as a lot of people say it is. Perhaps because Goldberg was in the ME, and everyone hates him....anyway, not to say it was a great DVD, but I found it to be entertaining, and it has the Rock saying goodbye as one of the extras.
