Nah, seriously though, ** seems low even for most. Although everybody has ratings that most people disagree with (like Brock/Taker HIAC in my case).

The last time I saw that match, I only gave it around ***. I didn't like it too much, though I have only seen it once back in 2002. I think like most people, I was kinda sick of their feud and probably expected more from the match.

See, what makes a rating like that for the match justifiable to me is the way you described how you came about that rating. You said it also surprised you in that, I think anyway, it was the first time you had seen it and it pretty much blew you away when you weren't expecting it to. That's an intangible to me and if a match has it, by all means it should be rated higher. I'm probably reading too much into it, but that's what I look for in a match I rate high anyway.

Even though I haven't seen it in a while, ****+ seems perfectly fine if you enjoyed it that much, just like ** seems fine if straightedge didn't enjoy it. I'm going to stop now before this turns into incoherent shit lol.

And 'cal, I have Brock/Taker at ***3/4-****. I know, I know, it seems way too low for most on here, but it just never connected with me on the same level as a lot of matches. You yourself alway say that if a match doesn't "get you" (or something to that effect ), then you won't rate it that high. It wasn't at all bad really, it just never had "it" is all. "It", to me of course.

Asking me to rate matches would be utterly useless right now, considering I have A LOT of material to re-watch before rating & so on. I'm currently retrieving all the PPVs from the year 2000 & 2001 (WWF only), and I should have a review on all of those . I should get started on that project sometime soon, I just need to find the time & have all the material available.

I don't really see how. I gave it the exact same rating when I did my Backlash 2001 review. It was a great 30 minute ultimate submission match.

Thanks you, that was what i was trying to say. First time i seen this match and i was expecting another HHH/HBK run of the mill match but found something very different, it's no secret i hate HBK yet here i am praising him, i loved the match.


and oh btw i think you may have opened up a can of worms with your Taker/Brock rating, i'm not gonna get involved.lol

Lawl, the statement corresponded with the JBL/Cena & Hart/Austin ratings . Not saying their off or anything, I just believe some people may get find it -ish that I gave matches of those caliber the EXACT same rating.
