Re: Official WWE DVD Help/Discussion/Review Thread
Time for a match review
4 way ladder match at Armageddon 2006
JBL quoted that Johnny nitro just gave regal a vertical suplex on the floor, But it doesnt stand out in this match up." Thats how good this match was! Also the infamous match where Mercury got his face smashed in by the same move Hardy used in the Terri invitational at No mercy 99.. Anyway this is MOTY for 2006 IMO and one of the best spotfests you will find, Great action by all 8 man involed.
Memorable spots include Regal using a modified back suplex on london which threw london to the ladder sitting in the corner, Kendrick jumping off the turnbuckle then double stomping matt hardy who was on a ladder being held up by London on the 2nd rope, Multiple throws off the lader, Joey Mercury incident, Mercurying thrown off ladder to the outside onto nitro, Hardy going for the swanton from a ladder on the outside to the ring on both regal and Taylor but Nitro Dropkicking it out from under him, Nitro leapfrogging a ladder then bringing it onto regal, London springboard dropkicking Nitro off a ladder, Matt hardy Hiptossing Kendrick off a ladder, Hardy backdropping London off the ladder, Hardy Sunset flip powerbombing nitro off a ladder,
Those last 4 happened with in about 1 minute.
Still more spots left.
Matt climbing 2 ladders but regal and taylor pulling them out beneath him and Kendrick running up a ladder and sort of leg sweeping Regal off.
Awesome! ***** MOTY of 2006 easily@ Just brilliant, words dont do it justice, Well reccomended!

You're awesome for putting Scott Steiner ahead of Kurt Angle. He was wrestling the suplex oriented style 10 years before Angle. Better too.

Steamboat was over HUGE during '87 and his feud with Savage during the start of the sports entertainment era, so that won't work.

I completely agree that most ladder matches can be overrated, ESPECIALLY MITB's and TLC's

I actually should have put Steiner above DiBiase and maybe Jericho now that I think about it but yeah as good as Angle is in terms of skill I wouldn't say hes as great of a worker as a lot of the other guys on the list.
I totally forgot to put the Undertaker on my list as well.

Armageddon 4 Way-****-****1/4
Now I know he's not the most technical guy of all time, but I think that Foley deserves more credit on these lists than most people are giving him.
Foley has a ton of ****+ matches from WCW, ECW, and WWF/WWE. Plus although he is noted for his "hardcore" abilities, he does have quite a bit of diversity when given the oppurtunity.(Mind Games for instance)
Also, along with Funk he possesses that ability to suck you into a match and really feel like what your seeing is 100% real.(Not as much as Funk, but he's up there)
He also sold really well for pretty much anybody he got in the ring with and still made his ability to withstand tremendous punishment believeable.
I honestly, would probably put him in my top 10-12 as far as North America is concerned.

That's fine.
Most of the guys you named are better then he is although he's great for a big guy.
Agreed that Angle isn't as high as some think.
Edit-Taroo, you're right about Foley.
He's also one of the best ever on the mic, was a very good draw and is one of the nicest people in the business.
His Smoky Mountain wrestling match with Candido is even high, he has success$everywhere with new characters AND puts his body on the line more then most.

Re: Official WWE DVD Help/Discussion/Review Thread
If Angle could have stayed at the top of his game longer than 2002-2005 he could be considered the greatest ever.
Too bad he started pro wrestling at around the age of 30.
