Starts at 12:30.

Couldn't of put it better myself to be honest. 12 heel champions, plus 2 heel money in the bank contract holders, what a joke.

Simplified version.

1) They broke up Enzo and Cass solely to "get heat".
2) Being a heel is fucking easy compared to being a babyface.
3) Bryan watched 8 Raws from 1998 and only in 1 of them did Vince get the upper hand on Austin.
4) The writers are too young and inexperienced, they're always thinking about "getting heat" rather than using the heat to get the babyfaces over.
5) Former Bayley superfan Izzy was spotted with an Alexa Bliss T-shirt (although I think this was just a one off thing) and some writers are giddy about working this in a way that gets heat on Alexa and humiliating Bayley again.
6) They have only 1 face champion in the whole company. Heat, heat, heat.

How they fucked Bayley up from being one of the hottest babyfaces for kids in NXT to a burial in all but name on Raw is amazing.

I mentioned this in the other thread. Bryan is right. These people don't know that you can't build the Joker forever, without having Batman foil his plans once in a while.

Remember Batman 1989? In WWE's version, after an average fist fight, Batman wouldn't have dragged Joker over the ledge, Batman would have just slipped and plunged to his death.

But tune in next week, when Joker takes on Robin!

WWE getting cheap heat is the pro-wrestling equivalent of a Kartrashian/celebrity leaking nudes or doing something controversial in a music video for "controversy creates cash". It's cheap and lazy writing.

They like trolling their fans with decisions that doesn't get heat on the wrestlers but on the company. Ellsworth basically winning the Women's in the Bank match is not what you should do during a women's revolution. Pushing Mahal from a jobber to champion is not convincing and people see right through the company's vision of global expansion through a lazy appeal (he's Indian).

You should be rewarding people like AJ Styles and Becky Lynch, not putting them in the midcard or constantly screwing them over with no payoff. Your top female merchandise seller Sasha Banks should be the centerpiece of the division.

With respect to Austin/Helm's podcast, we would be less concerned about the backstage politics/writing if WWE could write good storylines that are logical and consistent.

Cut some slack on Bayley. She may not be the best in promos, but she did not book herself to look like an idiot for Miss Piggy Alexa Bliss.

Agreed. The fact that Bayley is being called childish by someone who use to blow glitter and prance around in a tutu still annoys me

They fucked up with AJ or Sami winning the Money In The Bank. My dog could write better storylines at this point.

Vince and Co are idiots. DB was over as hell, and instead of running with it they tried and tried and tried to bury him. Finally they gave in and he was the hottest thing they'd had since Rocky. They wasted at least a year refusing to accept what their customers wanted. Now, the crowd hates RR. Hates him. They could just turn him heel, and they should have several years ago. But no, Instead they keep trying to get him over. People have wanted to cheer Rusev, wanted to cheer Cesaro but the E won't have any of that shit. We're going to like who we're told to like, dammit. Because Vince has a small dick and this is how he compensates.

Agree, CM Punk and Bryan were both in this boat. two guys who WWE didn't see as a top guys because Vince saw Cena and Roman in that role. Even though fans were crying out for Punk and Bryan.

Who is the biggest over face now in the company? I really cannot think of anyone

I cannot think of anyone who gets a massive pop when they come out as a face. I am talking as much as Bryan or Punk used to get, not mild pops.

WWE need to look at why heels are getting cheered and apply that to their faces. Also listening to your audiences helps too.

WWE is running itself into hell with all this dang "heat" :eyeroll this is why the product is so bad. There aren't any decent baby faces to root for anymore. The last baby face I remember rooting for was Daniel Bryan and most recently, Becky when she won her first title. There's no hard climb to the top and payoff for the good-guy, just heat heat heat. The Enzo and Cass situation is so stupid, I mean, they both never held the tag titles on neither NXT or the main roster and then look at what they did to Bayley. It's all just a mess, a stupid mess.

It seems that this company forgets what "real heat" is and it is big shame.

It's so ridiculous that most of the Champions are heels because this company forgot how to book faces and Champion faces. Backwards heat is one of the main things that is killing this company. Bayley got ruined the most out of anyone the Raw roster and it's thanks to this company that Bayley is a fucking joke because they never really gave a damn about her. The same Bayley that had epic battles with Charlotte, Becky Lynch, Sasha Banks and Emma, plus beat them with her underdog gimmick booking. The same woman that gave Kana a run for her money a year ago. Once she came to the roster and gets fucked over with her character.

The reason why babyfaces doesn't worry anymore is because they never get the big ending that they deserve by beating the heels at the end game. It's fucked up on how 10 to 20 years ago, this company had it all in their hands but in this current era they don't. They don't get it. They are stuck on this boring bland cookie cutter formula booking. Vince is so washed up that he won't even keep up with the times. At this point I am numb when I watch the product. Most times I either want to Smoke Weed or drink while watching the product on Monday and Tuesday Nights.

Like Paul Heyman said in 2001 Invasion storyline: SCREW YOU VINCE, SCREW YOUR COMPANY!!!

I feel like we are in some kind of dark age waiting for the light to break over the hill.

I mean good fook, when is there anything actually positive to say about wwe these days? they create a lot of shit and yet they even manage to balls up the things that work well.

wwe loves heat because they set fire to mostly anything that moves.

Being a heel, a true heel, is the hardest these days. Not a face. The only true heels in men's side are Miz and Mahal, and now Cass. Everyone else is a tweener. Heat is hard as hell to get, which is why most people who are going to go heel are tweeners. The only way to get heat these days is usually 'go away heat.' That's why they kept Reigns as a face. If he went heel, he'd get just as much cheers.

Here's Hurricane on Stone Cold's podcast explaining it better than anyone can.

Bryan Alvarez rants on WWE's booking of heels and babyfaces

It's a broken record at this point, but yeah, the WWE seems to constantly be looking for ways to get "heat" on their heels at the expense of their babyfaces. I have not seen that picture of young Izzy that Alvarez talks about, but if what he says about WWE's reaction to that is true, then nobody can help this company.

The thing about the picture of Bayley's fan is that it's from months ago when she went to an episode of SD (think it was the post-WM SD)... So everyone is making it out like WWE's booking even made Bayley's # 1 fan ditch her but it was a case of she went to an event that didn't have Bayley and apparently she likes Bliss so she wore a Bliss shirt.

Yeah, but what Alvarez said is that there are people in WWE (the writers or whoever) who are apparently excited about what an opportunity that presents to them to get heat on Alexa Bliss.

Re: Bryan Alvarez rants on WWE's booking of heels and babyfaces

Heels in wwe are just better than the faces right now, sometimes it happens.

I mean reigns (as a face) beating everyone and it did nothing for him.
Rollins beating HHH and Joe in consecutive ppvs did nothing for him.
Goldberg was doing great and they made a fool out of Owens and Goldberg was hurt not helped.

Bayley was hurt not because a heel beat her but because they moved away from what got her over in nxt. She debuted and beat the unstoppable Charlotte how many times in a row, then won title, then acted all heelish not giving back the title when Sasha clearly cheated to help her win.

Cuz hes a terrible babyface

Rollins beating HHH and Joe in consecutive ppvs did nothing for him.
Some would say the same for Rollins but it's mostly because they spent what felt like ages getting HEAT on him

Goldberg was doing great and they made a fool out of Owens and Goldberg was hurt not helped.
The story was positioned the way they wanted it to go for crowd reactions for the most part, I think. Brock was the one staying and facing Braun so gotta be positioned in the face role

Bayley was hurt not because a heel beat her but because they moved away from what got her over in nxt. She debuted and beat the unstoppable Charlotte how many times in a row, then won title, then acted all heelish not giving back the title when Sasha clearly cheated to help her win.
Yeah there were a shitload of moments where they just threw away what Bayley was based on. THEN after making her the champion and all this shit, they want HEAT on her and now she's worse off than literally ever before

The other main problem besides the constant heat mongering, is that they don't want to give fans clean and satisfying stories anymore, and instead are just focused on being unpredictable.
MITB is THE prime example of this. Fuck who people want to see, give it to Corbin and Carmella - twice! Giving people what they expect is NOT A BAD THING, fuckers!

Not even Wrestlemania, which used to be the ultimate payoff, can have satisfying clean story finales anymore. For some absurd reason, the argument there is that so-and-so will get his or her win at Raw or the PPV after Wrestlemania. What the actual fuck?

Alvarez rants more than he talks. But I'm OK with that because he's a cool dude. I'd be in a state of despair having to do 3 shows a week with Meltzer.
Bryan rants a lot, but that's really needed. Meltzer is far too forgiving on WWE these days. Actually, I feel like he's mostly Meh about it these days. Do you know how hard it is to make the biggest wrestling fanatic on the planet feel Meh about your #1 wrestling show?
