Deep into the 2010s... huh. Guess we are. It's funny, because if I look back in history, the period 1990-1997 feels like ages, as does 2000-2007, but 2010-2017 feels like a fraction of the time. We've been spoiled by the athleticism and general match quality skyrocketing in recent years, so there's no chance in hell I could manage a top 5 of all the great matches over the last 7-8 years (it's hard enough year to year). So, if you'll beg my indulgence (Sandow TM), I'm going to do a top 20- and likely going to miss a ton of great matches in the process anyway.
1. CM Punk vs. John Cena- Money In The Bank 2011
2. Shawn Michaels vs. Undertaker- Wrestlemania 26
3. Brock Lesnar vs. John Cena- Extreme Rules 2012
4. Daniel Bryan vs. Triple H- Wrestlemania 30
5. Sami Zayn vs. Shinsuke Nakamura- NXT Takeover Dallas
6. Brock Lesnar vs. CM Punk- Summerslam 2013
7. John Cena vs. AJ Styles- Summerslam 2016
8. The Shield vs. The Wyatt Family- Elimination Chamber 2014
9. Sami Zayn vs. Cesaro- 2/3 Falls- NXT August 21, 2013
10. Brock Lesnar vs. John Cena vs. Seth Rollins- Royal Rumble 2015
11. John Cena vs. Daniel Bryan- Summerslam 2013
12. Sasha Banks vs. Bayley- NXT Takeover Brooklyn
13. The Revival vs. DIY- NXT Takeover Toronto
14. Randy Orton vs. Christian- Summerslam 2011
15. John Cena vs. CM Punk- Raw February 25, 2013
16. The Shield vs. Team Hell No & Ryback- TLC 2012
17. The Miz vs. Dolph Ziggler- No Mercy 2016
18. Undertaker vs. CM Punk- Wrestlemania 29
19. Bray Wyatt vs. Daniel Bryan- Royal Rumble 2014
20. Brock Lesnar vs. Goldberg- Wrestlemania 33.
We really have been spoiled, honestly. I could have included several more Shield matches, AJ's matches with Reigns and the Rumble win with Cena, lots more NXT stuff, especially with Sami Zayn, DIY, Revival and I loved the Roode vs. Nakamura match at Takeover San Antonio. I have a soft spot in my heart for the Brock vs. Taker 2015 matches (the last great Taker matches IMO). More stuff from Punk and Bryan. As much as some people hate to hear it, some great John Cena matches didn't make it in, especially his run as US Champ.
And I didn't include Wee-LC because it seemed unfair to make every other match fight for a distant second place.
EDIT: *Scans topic* Goddammit! Bate vs Dunne! It just happened, how did I forget that? It probably belongs somewhere in the 10-15 range of my list at the very least, but I can't be bothered shuffling things around. Fuck it, that match was amazing. UK boys owned that ring.
