How WWE Are Going To Make Any Money From India?

WWE Network Subscriptions? WWE PPVs are on free tv in india. They can watch WWE PPVs, Raw, SD & NXT live on "Ten Sports" for FREE! why would they subscribe to the WWE Network?

India Tour? There is no scheduled India dates at all this year!!! On WOL Alvarez said that there is no india dates in 2017(the show is free on their site http://www.f4wonline.com/wrestling-...l-wwe-ppv-india-no-september-tour-more-236266)
Right now there is no planned india tour at least for 2017.

So, "The big money that will come from india" will be from his 1 t-shirt? You can see that WWE didn't plan any of this and just gave Jinder the title out of nowhere.
People that actually think they will make big money from india are the same people that thought Shane McMahon will successfully bring China into the PPV market.

Vince didn't have any specific business plan for the indian market. He gave Jinder the title with no long term plan.
Wyatt supposed to win the title back from Orton but he went to Raw, so Vince gave it to Jinder instead.

Vince don't care who is the SD champion, Vince only cares about the Universal Championship picture.

Whatever they're getting from their TV deal in India, it can't be very much. Revenues from Asia Pacific as a whole account for about 7-8% of their overall revenue.

So let's review - people from India do not subscribe to the Network, they don't pay for PPV, they don't buy merchandise that isn't counterfeit, and the TV revenue the WWE gets from there is insignificant.

Actually, all of these are the exact reasons why WWE is in overdrive to try to convert it's popularity to tangible monetary units at the earliest. They know that they're far from fulfilling their true money making potential in these regions with regards to the foothold that it commands in these regions.

It's exactly for this reason that they resumed their tours to India last year after a gap of 14 years! and did 15,000+ crowds on consecutive days in the Highest GDP/Capita city of the country. Multiple tours are sure to be lined up in the near future and WWE recently launched an exclusive online store for Indian audiences with far more affordable pricing with regards to the Indian cost of living index.

The primary issue that the WWE faces in the Indian market is obviously of logistics. It's just too damn far away from the States for them to establish a continuous flow of goods and services into and out the country. Secondly, unlike the US, live streaming is far from being a realistic substitute to live T.V. It would take at least 25-30 years for India to come to par with the scenario that the US faces today with regards to the TV-Internet dynamics. The TV graph in the Indian Subcontinent is actually still going up and hasn't reached it's peak yet with many people being added to the middle and upper middle classes by the year. It's exactly for these reasons the future TV deals become of paramount importance to the WWE to offset (if any) loss of revenue it faces in the future US TV deals.

The WWE has (finally) realised that the Indian Subcontinent / Middle East is a highly lucrative market which is practically untapped. I wouldn't be surprised if the revenue from these regions overtakes that of at least the UK in the next 5-6 years or so. It would be interesting to see how they play their cards in that region in the near future.

The whole September talk started when Del Rio brought it up in his promotional tour here last year, but I guess the dates were never locked. Jinder did a post match interview at Backlash with the Indian announce team for Youtube where him and the Singh brothers pretty much confirmed that they're coming to India. Plus Hunter just tweeted last week that something big is on the way for the Indian fans, so yeah..

It's very possible that making Jinder the champion has nothing to do with India. It's just because he is the best wrestler they have now, India or no India. Suck it haters!

Mate, can you honestly be a more obvious troll? All your posts on Jinder have been how anyone who criticizes him are haters even though they give actual logical reasons. Honestly you Jinder fans who are only fans of him because his push allows you to and i quote "drink smark tears" can go fuck right of.

This is basically another Jinder Mahal hate thread, let's be honest.

People are entitled to their opinions but there's surely been enough of these now? What you said in your OP surely could have just been posted in one of the other Jinder hate/Indian market threads?!

The saltiness is real. May the Modern Day Maharaja have a long reign!!

I find Jinder extremely entertaining and even if they don't tour India i'd like him to have a long reign to give the title some stability, a lot of the recent title reigns since AJ have been quite short.

TV station, as said above India is different to the Western folk, there's obviously a plan of some sort, E do some stupid ass things but not THIS bad

According to Wrestling News World – so take this with a pinch of salt, as they’ve been pretty patchy as of late – “Currently, unless there is a SIGNIFICANT dive in ratings or ticket sales, the plan is for Jinder Mahal to carry the WWE Title until the Royal Rumble in which he would drop it to…John Cena.”
lol, pinch that sodium dudes, no chance this lasts till January

The fact that WWE dropped the Rusev angle is a proof Jinder winning came out of nowhere.

The plan was Randy Orton vs Rusev at MITB.
I think Rusev was supposed to win because Wyatt was the original guy to get the title back from Orton right after WM.
So Because of Jinder we didn't get a Rusev title reign.

When Rusev didn't came to SD to confront Shane i knew Jinder will win.
I think the 1st time Jinder was on Talking Smack he really impressed Vince with his determination and then he won the no.1 contender match.

They can still describe to the network for the archives and the ability to see PPVs anytime. Plus its all about merchandise. Jinder Mahal is the carrot on the stick for the Indians, but WWE is hoping that after they get into the merch for him, it expands into the other popular stars.
