WWE has balls

I genuinely love that Vince plays to the beat of his own drum. The fan base is so authoritarion these days so I love when Vince throws it in their face that they don't run the company.

Also, I love how they're brave enough to take risks like this. It's things like this that will go down in history as big shocking, moments.

I respect the WWE for their balls.

It wasn't a big shock or anything, just a stupid decision that will be remembered like Khali and Swagger's title reigns. I'd be more shocked if he took the title off AJ Styles.

It absolutely was a shock. The majority were positive Jinder was losing. The fans reactions after the match proves that.

Nobody gives a fuck about Jinder Mahal. At least Roman Reigns gets the biggest boo of the night.. nobody buys a Jinder Mahal t-shirt. People are sitting on their hands in any sort of match or segment to do with him. Plus, he's a fucking jobber. This wasn't smart or clever but I'm sure that's what they think it is. Nobody cares now about Jinder Mahal and nobody will care in 30 years either. He didn't earn this and it stains the legacy of the title, spits in the face of past champions, and especially recent champions.. someone like Bray Wyatt who busted his ass for YEARS before finally getting that title. This is so bad that it is laughable.
lol you can say all that but it isn't true. This has shaken the entire wrestling community. A lot of people are either loving this or outraged.

Didn't deserve it? Yeah because Jinder just came out of NXT a couple years ago and was just given a shot. He wasn't protected like many other wrestlers. He jobbed for years and didn't complain. Never a wellness violation, never seen him in the news for some kind of bad behavior, never a bad thing said about him. The guy paid his dues and it's good for other wrestlers to see someone get the title, for whatever behind the scenes reason it might be.

You need to switch to decaf and enjoy the show a little more.

Not true. It's not just about shock value. A lot of people like Jinder. Ellsworth could never be credible as a champion. Jinder looks and acts like a top guy.

Yea because it takes balls to realize there's a few billion people in India the WWE needs to placate, what will take real balls is going to India and having AJ pin him for the belt.

If you were really shocked by this result....sorry you have not been paying attention to the sport for very long.
I've been watching it for over 20 years. This might not have been a shock to you since you're supposedly this wrestling guru, but to most people it was a shock.

Actually, this is the polar opposite of balls. This is what happens when you have an absolute monopoly over the wrestling business. Jinder Mahal as champion would be like making Al Snow the champion in 1998. Do you think Al Snow would've ever won the title when Vince had WCW to deal with? Get real.

Balls would've been putting the title on whoever the jobber equivalent of Jinder would've been right after TNA moved to Monday nights, that would've been balls, and even then, TNA was so far behind WWE I don't know how it could've changed anything, but that would've been at least a risk that people wouldn't flock to the other show. This is nothing. This is as safe as it gets.
lmao, Al Snow is nothing like Jinder. Al Snow never drastically gained size and reinvented himself the way Jinder has in the WWE… and lol @ "This is as safe as it gets"… yeah when you have neckbeard indy nerd smarks threatening to "quit watching" , and pulling a risky move like this when ratings have been dropping is incredibly ballsy whether you want to admit it or not.

Vince just tainted the WWE title especially if Jinder fails as champion. It's gonna take more work to recover its image. Big names won that title in the past 5 years and now we have Jinder. Essentially Jinder is now Vince's new JBL/ADR. His gonna get a strong run as champion, but I'm not too sure until how long his run will last. Pretty much the WWE title has lost it's credibility among a lot of fans. Honestly I can't see many fans tuning in to watch Jinder as the champion. But you gotta give credit to Vince for actually trying to make Jinder into a star.

The way I see it now is WWE should have no issue in making Zayn, Ziggler, Harper, Rusev or Neville into their WWE Champion, especially if Jinder can win it who is less credible than the guys listed.

Since the Brand Split, the WWE Title has become what the World Heavyweight Title was. A second tier title after the Raw Championship, there to placate those who Vince never would put the A Title on. Benoit, Booker, Goldberg (2004), Rey, Bryan etc.
It's Vince's B-plus-player-title.

They needed a foreign heel for Cena to smash on his 4th of July return. Jinder is so disliked that fans will embrace Cena 's 17th title win.

It'll likely be Cena vs Nak at Summerslam for the title. Jinder's run will be transitional, I'm almost certain of that.

It would have made more sense if Jinder was in a feud for the U.S title and won that instead because here you'd have a Canadian-Indian promoting WWE in India as the U.S Champion....but nope, someone such as HHH, Steph, or even Vince must have said something like this at the meetings:

Vince: "Well, since there's already a feud with the U.S Championship between Jericho and Kevin, and Wyatt is going to Raw it will only make sense to put Jinder on SmackDown and have him feud with Randy as we try to grow the market in India, and by Jinder becoming World Champion means more subscribers....now Steph since you are the CBO, and Paul loves to expand tournaments, this is your chance to showcase to India while we lose ratings and viewers in America, our strongest market"

Paul: "Amazing idea, I get to show my ideas for a tournament in front of 1 Billion people while ignoring the American and Canadian markets"

Steph: "Omg, 1 Billion people get to see me advertise....yay"

This isn't balls, this is a marketing ploy while ignoring the core.

Having balls doesn't always have to be a good thing. What good comes of killing any prestige left in your own company's major prize just to pander to a country with a big population?

One thing I find interesting is that people are talking about realism in the sense he's moved from a jobber to a world champion within a short span of time. Doesn't realism not matter anymore now that kayfabe is "dead"?

Anyways, interested to see how this goes.

Vince knows majority of the people who complain will still watch. So it doesn't take balls to know. That IWC is whiny babies who will complain or boo all day long. But still watch the show every week and pay to go to the shows. So every fan who still pays for WWE network or watches Smackdown with this trash booking going on. Well you only have yourself to blame. Personally I stopped watching Smackdown when Jinder became number 1 contender a week after jobbing to Mojo Rawley. I won't let that show insult my intelligence.

Yeah, people still watch.
I'd visit the ratings thread and follow attendance numbers more often if that's your delusional point of view.

Who do we bump off the Mount Rushmore of wrestling for Mahal? I was initially thinking Hogan but we could just replace Hogan, Rock, Austin, and Flair with the various angry expressions of Mahal. The rationale is it would be best not to hinder the Jinder. Instead, we can bestow upon him every honor and hope that as our new God, Lord, and savior, the maharajah is indeed a benevolent being.
