I just realized what the original brand split had developed that this one should eventually do itself. Raw had HBK pretty much stay there until he retired, Smackdown had Undertaker stay there until the brand split ended. It made both shows feel like there are staples that are from older days that will be the go to veteran. These guys didn't win titles a lot but you always felt that they could and sometimes they did as a shock. I would also imagine they would always be babyface too (for the most part). They also usually were able to be relied on to have the most interesting match of the night if all else failed on the card.
I feel like the brand split needs to start developing this too.
Who would you say they should set up to be like that in todays Brand Split for Raw and Smackdown, what names would you nominate for these roles and why? I'm curious as to what some of you make think about this.
Rubbish. Are you Vince? Roman is your Shawn Michaels DUH. BUT, Rubbish. This is the 21st century and everyone is a staple. No one man is better than the company.
Agreed. Thats why i never really bought the roman for Styles trade rumors. It doesnt take an investigative journalist to see WWE cares about Raw a hell of a lot more than they do Smackdown.
That being said that doesn't mean Raw's the better show, imo Smackdowns better right now, I'm not saying it's God's gift to wrestling, just saying it's better than Raw, not that it's hard lol I will say though if Smackdown is better, it's not by design.
Does it really "need" to though? Reigns will be holding the fort on Raw, as he does not work Tuesdays (B show) so I guess he's the Raw mainstay in your example?
And Cena is the face of the entire WWE and will be until he goes away.
