Let's get the list of reasons why Roman outsells everyone not named Cena
1. Vince buys all his merch
2. Roman has a lot of much merch thus, this somehow forces people who dislike him to buy his shirts too.
3. Numbers are a lie to make Roman look strong
4. Only his merch is at live events (lies) so you're forced to buy his stuff even though it makes zero logical sense for someone to hate the guy and also go on to purchase his shit.
5. Meltzer is a shill for WWE
Remember, there is a thing called supply and demand. WWE can push all the merch they want, but it means nothing if no one is buying it. And as someone on reddit wrote:
"Before people start making a point about how much more merch Roman has, let me show some numbers.
Roman hasn't had a new shirt released since the summer, but he has 43 items currently on WWE Shop. Currently, Cena has 55 items, Enzo & Cass has 51, The New Day has 51.
Seth Rollins has 41, Dean Ambrose has 38, AJ Styles has 38, Finn Balor has 36, and Bayley has 24., "
WWE whores out all their top guys in merchandise, so Roman isn't someone special snowflake in that regard.
He's been pushed to the moon, yes and that helps a lot. But it also shows he isn't this complete failure like many want to believe. It also shows big pops don't translate into money. People can list all the talents they feel are way more over than Roman, but that doesn't make them more profitable.
With that said, this surely fucks any chance of this man turning, huh?
:wow You've covered just about everything. That's great, because I'm on my phone and damn sure didn't want to text that much information :curry!
OH WAIT, YOU DID MISS ONE! There will be a certain enraged AJ Styles fan that comes in here and points to ratings as cause to call Roman a failure. So, if AJ Styles just had the best year of his career and couldn't push Smackdown over RAW more than twice in 9 months, what does that make him :mj?
Except that he was the #2 merch seller in Fall 2014 and people still made excuses. Let me remind you, that's before he won a Rumble or won a title. He was a glorified hot tag specialist that just went singles with 5 moves of doom.
The denial and excuses are strong. He moves product. Stop putting an asterisk next to that fact. Just because some of you have a hard on hate for Roman Reigns doesn't mean the next person does. And no amount of a push can force anyone to buy Roman's merch. I've been a fan for three years plus and have never purchased a single shirt of his because the designs aren't my style. But I have been to a few WWE shows where I've seen plenty of folks, including men, wearing his gear. Reigns fans are not unicorns. We actually exist.
Of course he is... he is being pushed as the face of the company... man is supposed to be selling more merch... the only thing that sucks is the fact that WWE will probably certainly not turn him heel now because of it... which means Roman will be as boring as he has ever been.
I just want the man to be good, and keeping him face isn't the way to go, he can sell all the merch he likes, but I really dont want another top face to get boo'ed every night for the next 15 years until they make another top guy.
Don't know if valid but this is also interesting. From reddit comment,
Before people start making a point about how much more merch Roman has, let me show some numbers.
Roman hasn't had a new shirt released since the summer, but he has 43 items currently on WWE Shop. Currently, Cena has 55 items, Enzo & Cass has 51, The New Day has 51.
Seth Rollins has 41, Dean Ambrose has 38, AJ Styles has 38, Finn Balor has 36, and Bayley has 24.
Edit: I should also add that I went to two different Hot Topics in recent weeks, because that's the only retailer I know that sells WWE Merch and found zero Roman shirts. Plenty of Zo & Cass, Ambrose, Rollins, New Day, Revival, NXT, Owens and Tye though.
Somehow I find that hard to believe. I know he's got more than enough fanboys and fangirls that swarm and swoon over him to be feasible, but his merch just doesn't look as good as other wrestlers. I always thought he got shafted when it came to logos...I think it's supposed to look like a back to back R, but it looks like a hideous combo of Spiderman, Taker, and Hardy's logos.
If true, good for him, but meh. Even if I was a fan I'd still find AJ's or Ambrose's merch cooler looking.
Edit: Just checked the shop and the newest shirts look even worse. Who the fuck designed these? It's way too much.
I'm a Reigns fan and I can't buy any of his shit because it's so ugly but I support my favorites so I bought a pendant and the least ugly shirt I could find and even then I couldn't bear to wear it in public.
Having gone to Raw a few weeks ago, I was blown away by the number of GROWN-ASS MEN wearing this replica of Roman's vest. I didn't go to the merch stand because lol but I imagine that's not a cheap item.
I mean, I assume it was for sale by WWE... otherwise there is way to many GROWN-ASS MEN who made their own Roman vests.
I hope his marks find validation in this. All of your reasons for liking him are now justified. Those who disliked him are now factually wrong because he sells the most merch out of any full timer. Therefore, you have to like him.
For those that don't like Roman Reigns, it's always assumed that those that do are women, brainwashed or trying to be hipster. I don't judge anyone for their preference of wrestler. That courtesy is not always returned.
Also, this isn't really directed towards you, but there's a lot of shade being thrown on @Legit BOSS because he made this post to brag and rub it in. As though many don't rush for the "Post New Thread" or "Submit Reply" when it comes to any bit of news that can discredit Reigns. It's always routinely asked why isn't he selling more than Cena. Or he's not selling enough. Putting up receipts is not a sign of insecurity but making facts plain.
If Reigns were as radio active as some of you believe, the free market would've prevailed. No one would be paying a cent for any item associated with him. Reigns being pushed hasn't stopped other talents from getting their own pushes and merch. In fact, some have even more products but Reigns is still selling more. That's not slight of magic, trickery or the unseen hand forcing any buys. He has been a consistent seller, through all the highs and lows of his push.
If the women and children are buying his merch, and the nerds are reacting to him, then he's not a failure. They've got the best of both like they did with Cena. He's a face to all the people that buy his shit, and he's a heel to all the people that boo him and want him gone, but still go to live shows and boo him.
Turning him would be counter-productive because you'll just reverse the roles. The nerds will start cheering him like they do with almost every other heel, and the women and children will stop buying his merch. Plus they probably sell more merch to kids than they do to nerds, although I don't have any figures on that so that's just an assumption.
"DUUH HE SHALL SELL MERCH CUZ HE THE MOST PUSHED DUUH"
Oh, excuseme, I always was tought by smarks that Roman had no fans, that he was a failure because he was booed.. "Vince is stupid he can't push somebody we don't like, it will not work".
But now you wanna act like you always though he was supossed to draw, how convenient ah? Motherfuckers.
2 WM main events, 1 Royal Rumble and booked above everyone else on the roster. Being a distant second to part time Cena is considered a win with all that? He should have overtaken Cena by now.
Don't think it's that impressive tbh. He's by far the most strongly booked guy of the full timers. Ambrose and Rollins are damaged goods now, Owens and Styles are heels.
This. Plus there is a list of guys (a long list IMO) of guys the WWE could take and have given the exact same push, exposure, etc to as Reigns and that person would be the #1 full-time talent merch seller. You can try to tell me I'm wrong, but I'm not...
I think the keyword people are missing is "as of late". There's a reason why no one really talked about his merch sales until recently. I don't think anyone would deny he has fans but he's still at a distance behind Cena and if I recall correctly he wasn't that far ahead of someone like AJ Styles according to Meltzer just last week. With his booking of 2 Wrestlemania main events, a rumble win and being booked as the best guy on the roster, he should be near the top , but judging by the sounds of it , it isn't nearly as impressive as people are trying to make it otu to be. Seeing as Aj Styles was #1-2 for a good while despite having less than a year in the company. Though, this should tell you about the current status of part timers vs full timers
But hey, lets not ignore the little details in the statement though
Is he outselling Cena or the other part timers though?
If you look at the full timer roster nowadays, there's no actual top tier stars. There's no Punk or Bryan on the roster. It's just a bunch of new gen guys. It makes sense for the guy they've marketed and pushed as the top face out of all them to be selling the most merch.
Well, if Fandango was pushed in he ludicrous manner that Reigns was and was overall presented the same way, he would be the number one merch seller.
I feel like people that make these threads to make some sort of weird point as to say "Haha, despite your absolutely accurate criticisms Roman is still successful, YOU SO SALTY!!" It's silly and puerile.
You're thread title should just really be "Vince Mcmahon has completely conned me and told me what to like and I am a bigger mark than most 13 year old WWe fans"

It sure is better than being told what to like by some bitter indy fans who bitch about everything WWE approved for the sake of being contrarian and edgy :hunter.
Yet, unlike CM Punk, he hasn't even gotten close to Cena, let alone surpass him.
He sells the minimum amount that someone in his position would sell. Of course the geek who started this thread would celebrate that non accomplishment.
