I've seen a fair share of complaints about Taker's WM opponent, Reigns and even gripes about Taker facing Cena. So I ask the question, if neither of those guys tickle your fancy for a Taker match at Mania 33, who would you prefer?
Personally, I feel like Taker streak matches should've ended after 28. It just seemed like the perfect culmination of the streak and no story since then has topped it, in fact they've only gone downhill since then.
On topic:
AJ Styles or Cena should be the one to face The Undertaker I was surprised when I know they tried Shawn Michaels to come back for AJ Styles so they are treating him well and they trust him that much to have a match with Shane so they should let him face Undertaker because everyone wanted it to see it at the Royal Rumble when we thought Cena VS Undertaker would be for the championship.
I don't have that much problem with Roman match expect that I hope Roman doesn't win the match.
I wouldn't vote for AJ because I don't think Taker can follow with the pace of AJ and take his flying moves without killing himself. He'd be better off wrestling someone with a similar style, someone like Kane would be nice.
Finn Balor as the Demon King. Taker loses & retires. Balor's new finisher is the Tombstone and he begins his own mania streak. If there's anyone The Undertaker could be proud to lose to and not look bad, it's a guy like a Finn Balor.
I think Strowman would have been a good choice. I don't really have an issue with Reigns but I know Taker doesen't have long left, and this could be the last. I think they should have put more thought into his opponents for the last couple of years. The shane feud was pointless, Taker won and then shane stayed anyway, he could have had a great feud with someone else for that mania.
A lot of people would prefer Cena on here, I'm sure - even though you don't have him listed?
Reigns is fine this year, he just shouldn't be Taker's last opponent and therefore shouldn't retire him. Reigns will have enough handed to him, he doesn't need that honor as well.
Taker shouldn't lose at WM again until he's retired, which should probably be next year, if he can last that long. Bray would be ideal for me, but Strowman or another young(er) guy wouldn't be bad either.
My arc for Taker, again if he could physically hold up. Win vs. Reigns at WM, a loss to Reigns at MITB in the rematch. A loss to Cena at SummerSlam due to interference from Wyatt, which then begins a long retirement build and match at WM 34.
No one...he should be at home with his feet up and Michelle McCool pampering the shit out of him
I love you to death DeadMan...but you have nothing left to prove
John Cena, easily. Otherwise, I would've been fine with either Seth Rollins, Finn Balor, or AJ Styles to have faced The Undertaker at WM 33. :cozy
Hell, I even would've liked Shinsuke Nakamura as an option for Taker's WM match. Could you imagine that? Instead of all those choices, we end up with Roman Reigns. :reigns2
After Brock Lesnar's drug scandal, all his wins (including the WM win) should have been reversed.
Perfect opportunity to undo a colossal fuck up. You could issue a short statement on the website, & at the start of RAW have Michael Cole point to this & be done. The crowd will be like "wtf, Undertaker is undefeated still?"; Give the Undertaker's match some purpose because they are no longer a spectacle.
Voted no one, not because I personally don't want to see him again, but for erring on the side of health and safety I don't personally know his true status, but things have not exactly been looking 100% on the wheels there. And hip (surgeries)..
He's had a career few in the business will even sniff at the soles of his shoes let alone live up to, it's time to stop before we get a nasty surprise quality of life over entertainment. It is something to consider.
He should have retired... but as that didn't happen he should have faced AJ, he's the only one capable of getting a solid match out a Taker and it would have gone over huge with the crowd... but as that didn't happen...
If this is Taker's last match then he should have faced Kane, there's nobody better than Kane to end Taker's career, they had an iconic feud, the buildup would write itself and it would be epic.
He should have put Bray over at 30, then the last time anyone should have seen him is after he beats Sting and disappears into the darkness/fog or some shit at 31.
If he absolutely had to face someone this year though, it should have been Cena, and it aint even close.
