The Undertaker's Last Ride?

It sounds like this might be the case for The Dead Man. Everyone meets their end, including The Undertaker. We can all say it was a historical run and there are doubts about it. He is certainly one of my all time favorites. He has to be on on everyone's top 25 any lower and you're losing my respect. His role changed over time, but he did it better than anyone else around him. You can't teach that.

You would think that this would be a moment to savor. However, I can't. Nothing against Roman Reigns, but if that's his last match I am truly embarrassed to call myself a fan. What's even worse are people begging for Taker vs Cena like that's some kind of history in the making type of moment. The Rock went up against Cena and damn near embarrassed him. The Rock did not want to pass the torch, the moment proves that. Yet, it all comes down to this over pushed former member of The Shield, Roman Reigns.

What the fuck do I know then? Roman Reigns gets the torch passed from Taker at Mania and that's it. This company never ceases to disappoint. Again, nothing against Roman Reigns, but I'll take Kane vs Taker in his last match over Reigns, or Cena any day of the week. Fuck, I'll take Goldberg vs Taker, Sting vs Taker in a wheelchair match where all four turnbuckles have to be touched to win. Passing the torch in such a way is most certainly going to start a fire, but not a good fire, think X-Pac type fire, or X-Pac type heat.

Again nothing against Roman Reigns because I ultimately feel he is getting the wrong end of the stick in terms of booking. Can you blame him for wanting to make more money. They threw money at him and basically told him he is the face of the brand. It's a career move you don't turn down. This company has no idea how to give the fans a larger than life star anymore. It's a dying art that this company has literally forgotten all about. Damn shame because Roman could be that guy, but he still isn't and he won't be the Monday after WM 33.

This is true, but his health is always the deciding factor.

People always talk about what a warrior Taker is and rightfully so. Putting a flak jacket over broken ribs, wrestling with a mask over a broken orbital bone, wrestling through a bicep tear. He is the epitome of a wrestling warrior. But all of those things add up over time especially when he’s been doing this for 30 years.

He already has a bad hip and apparently the surgery he needs would likely rule out anymore wrestling. So, it might be a situation where he gets through this match, goes to the doctor afterwards and they tell him, you need this now, you’re done. Would be unfortunate but it’s possible.

Personally, whether Taker knows right now what he is going to next, it’s not his last match. He’ll go one more year to WM 34 in the same building where the streak died, where he will take his last ride.

There is no Cena match. The whole point of why they didn't do it this year is because they wanted to give it to a younger guy and a future star. The problem is they chose Reigns, but I wish people just stopped talking about it. There will be no John Cena vs. The Undertaker at WrestleMania.

I hope its the last ride, and Reigns stops showing "All due respect". If Taker is one of these "Once in a lifetime" performers, then showing disrespect during his final match is once-in-a-lifetime heat for a heel-turn.

I give WWE more credit than most, but I don't actually think they're that smart.

I really hope it is - for the guy's own sake. I don't want to see my favourite guy hobbling around grimacing in pain for real after doing his old spots.

After seeing him at the Rumble - I hate to say this as a big fan but please retire Taker.

I don't care that it's against Reigns. I don't think they're going to put him over anyway, unless they have the sense to turn him.

I'm gonna be really really sad when he actually does retire. I wish he could magically be younger again, he's my favorite character ever. I can't imagine the thought of him not being there anymore. I know he's barely there now, but when he really doesn't ever come back it's gonna be tough. I don't think this is his last match though, I wouldn't be surprised if he somehow manages to still wrestle at mania 35.

I don't think this will even be the last we see of Taker this year. Survivor Series -- the PPV where he made his debut -- he is in Houston this year. It's the 30th anniversary of the event, and I can see Taker being in a program for that. I've predicted that this is where they will do Taker vs. Cena. It's a wild one, but given the event and the venue, it would make sense. Even less sure than I am about that, I think Taker heads into New Orleans, where he tries to redeem himself in the city where he lost his streak. I know people would complain about this, but given that they clearly like working together, and given the significance of him as an opponent -- Brock Lesnar would make sense, whether we internet nerds like it or not.

You can do a series of videos to songs about New Orleans, or musicians from that region. Try not wiping a tear from your eye as Undertaker marches knowingly to his destruction. So my prediction for Undertaker's Last Ride Tour is a loss to Roman Reigns, a win against John Cena, and then a loss to Brock Lesnar. Hell, maybe they even give him the surprise win in his final match? It won't hurt Brock, who might even be finishing up with the company at that point.

I know a lot of people are saying that The Undertaker is old school and would want to go out on his back without any fanfare, however, I find it hard to believe that WWE would allow that to happen. If it's The Undertaker's last match, I would expect them to promote the hell out of it.

Cena should retire Taker next year Wrestlemania. Having Roman beat him this year would cause an outrage, and furthermore, if this match is his last I can imagine chairs being thrown into the ring.
