Why it’s great: These days, the Money in the Bank Ladder Match is an institution. At WrestleMania 21, it was a demolition derby experiment, one that included a flying Shelton Benjamin and concluded with Edge claiming the first-ever Money in the Bank contract.
Jericho invented that: According to Chris Jericho’s book “Undisputed,” the original concept for this match was a “Hollywood Dream Ladder Match” where the winner would have any wish fulfilled. When that idea was nixed, Jericho himself came up with the first iteration of the contract as it exists today.
NO ONE say shit, just let WWE do their thing, and stop giving them a reason to hide their under belly.
I want them to do things for us fans, cause a lot of us liked Benoit's work, but they basically giving him special treatment, and he doesn't deserve it. Just treat him like any other wrestler.....who won a title......at wrestlemania.....in the main event.....oh shit, he's been Hulk'd.
I've watched tons of Benoit matches since his double murder, suicide and it's completely understandable and justified for the WWE to never mention the guy that killed his wife, killed his son (reportedly with his own submission hold) and then killed himself.
It's not a groundbreaking news... they have no problem mentioning some benoit matches by totally cutting him out
They were also able to produce mini-highlights of wrestlemania 20 and summerslam 2004 without showing chris ONCE
This list proves why Shawn Michaels is Mr wrestlemania. Out of the 33 he is involved in 8 of them, all in the top 19 and 5 in the top 10. And it would be 9 if Benoit was allowed to be mentioned.
Honestly, I know this a very touchy subject, but Benoit did a lot for pro wrestling, I know OUTSIDE of wrestling he was a bad person, a LOT of people were. Stone Cold beat his wife. No I'm not comparing the severity of the things they did but I am saying at that time wrestling was in general a dark and gritty kind of line of work, Benoit was damaged, and the things he did were unforgivable, but I like Benoit the wrestler, maybe not Benoit the person but the wrestler I actually did love watching and was a huge favorite of mine.
I'll never understand the obsession some people have with Benoit being recognised for his work. Nobody gives a fuck how good any other murderer was at their job.
Forever baffled by people who want Benoit to be mentioned by WWE. Can you honestly not see why it's a terrible idea to bring him up and/or celebrate his work?
Its been 10 years. Much of the new generation barely remember him. I get not putting him in the hof but he,s a big part of mid 2000s wwe and I'd like to see him mentioned here and there.
If you watched the edited version of the match on the MITB DVD / BR, Benoit is barely in it with all the camera angle changes they made, its weird! :lol
Didn't they claim Goldberg and Lesnar main evented WM20 a couple months back :cole
