WWE worried about Undertaker's health

According to a report from PWInsider.com, the health of The Undertaker was a big topic of discussion behind the scenes earlier this week during Monday Night Raw. He was said to have been in a lot of pain just walking around backstage, and the general consensus backstage is that his match with Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 33 will most likely have to be Undertaker's last match.

There have been rumors for many years now that any given WrestleMania could be Undertaker's last, and there were numerous reports coming out of last year's WrestleMania that Undertaker was even telling people openly that he was finished as an in-ring performer after his Hell in a Cell Match against Shane McMahon. But it would appear as though this year's WrestleMania will actually be The Undertaker's final performance, as even WWE officials are under the impression that the legendary "Dead Man" will probably no longer be able to perform after WrestleMania 33.

He is also said to be in need of major surgeries that would prevent him from ever performing in the ring again. With the amount of pain that he was in backstage during Raw, it would seem as though he can't go for much longer without having those procedures done.

See that's where you're wrong

Retiring one of the greatest of all time as a face is exactly what Roman needs to reach that extra level. The fans are obviously going to cheer the man who retired a beloved legend, and even if they boo him, he's still a success because all reaction is good reaction
Anyone who thinks differently is an obsessed hater.

Sucks he couldn't go out with a good story or at his best. Nothing against Reigns, but this match just seems thrown together and it doesn't feel worthy of being his last match because they haven't really done much to promote that. I mean yeah Roman made one line about retiring him but even that kind of got lost in translation.

Point is though, he's contributed more than enough to the business and doesn't owe anyone anything. If this the end, and I'm not convinced it is, I just wish Taker's final years could have gone a little better.

I don't care if it's a 2 minute squash by Undertaker - with strowman interference- anything but a reigns win.

Undertaker may not be what he use to be but reigns is not deserving of going over taker at wrestlemania- I could see any other ppv but please not wrestlemania.

Hopefully Reigns pins him in under a minute the reaction would be great, WWE shouldn't care the reaction Roman would get anyway since they have brainwashed people into thinking any reaction is a good reaction.

Yep even if its not his last match there is no reason for Taker to win.

I do feel Taker is gonna go all out at WM to give us the best the best match he can. I do feel its gonna be better than what most are saying its gonna be. People will be eating crow by the end of the night.

Also why for those saying Reigns descent deserve to retire the Undertaker? Why the fuck not? Reigns is just as deserving as everyone else on the god dam roster. He is also the next face of the company. Taker is an old school guy and if this is his last match he will put Reigns over.

Yep. Because with his health the way it is, no way this match lasts too long so a squash match is the only way to go tbh. And Taker squashing Reigns would be kinda funny, but it doesn't benefit anyone as Taker gains nothing and Reigns looks like a geek. And Reigns squashing him and remaining face would make him even more hated then he is now, which is hard to believe. So Reigns just beating the shit out of him and maybe even slapping him around a bit ala him and Lesnar at WM 31, thus solidifying his heel turn, is the way to go imo.

Cena Rusev wasen't a filler feud. Besides Cena had Rock two years in a row at one time. i don't think it is that big of deal, he doesen't have one big match at mania this year. Apparently from what I read Taker Cena was scrapped by Vince. He decided to go in another creative direction. Ala Reigns Taker. To have some kinda long term impact on the future of WWE.

Would be appalling if it's his last match and he goes out on his back against a guy whom has already been given the earth, moon and stars. It's time to build others, and the only way this is halfway acceptable on a logical level is if Reigns goes full heel here. Otherwise, it's pretty disgusting and further speaks to the fact these people aren't simply attempting to "build" a guy but are openly and fanatically worshipping him. It's a borderline cult backstage with Joe Anoa'i & if it's truly Takers last match, this is an absolute waste barring a heel turn.

I mean, he's been banged up for a few years now, and he's coming off hip surgery, and will most likely need another surgery eventually it looks like. To have his health be something of a question mark isn't really that surprising in the slightest.

Hopefully he just retires forever after this match. He's 52 and has been active for nearly 30 years now. There's nothing else he needs to give, nor does WWE need to ask anymore of him.

So Takers go retire after a bad match, with no story, to a sea of boos, and a crowd that's gonna be shitting on it from beginning to end.. all for another futile attempt to get Reigns over.. sad.. very sad.

Maybe they can have Rock come out and help Reigns, that'll get Roman cheered...

Or maybe they can put the Authority in Takers corner...

Or maybe Taker can pledge allegiance to Russia...

Or maybe Romans next opponent can cost Roman the match...

Sad... very VERY sad.

This is exactly where I am with it.

It's not like the guy is on a hectic schedule so has very little time to truly evaluate his health for a big match. He literally has 364 days of recuperation to his next match. If he's still feeling shit 3 months from Mania maybe he should just call up Vince and say "you know what, I'm not feeling great, I might need to sit one out and let my body recover."

I know wrestling requires a certain degree of suspension of logic, but fucking hell this is Super Reigns here and are we supposed to believe he's going to have a hard time beating the shit out of what is, essentially, a crippled senior citizen.

Come on, it's a complete joke.

Can't wait for the Big Dawgs third coronation and then the next Mania for his 4th and so on.

I was starting to become neutral but this new situation pisses me off on a different level. A fan level so to speak.
Taker is my favorite wrestler of all time and yes I'm aware he's old and can't really go ; I'm not here to argue that.

HOWEVER....
I can't believe and I still don't that Reigns is gonna be the one to retire the guy who got me into wrestling in the first place. Straight up doesn't deserve it. He's had his time to get over, going on 4 years now and I legit don't care what you have to say ; that HE'S THE GUY and BUT THE LOOK and BUT EVERYONE IS TALKING ABOUT THE MATCH SO HE'S OVER, BUT HE'S IMPROVED.

I don't care.

The ONLY POSSIBLE WAY I see this working is if we get a Reigns heel turn out of it and even then I don't see it sitting well with me.
Just how I feel.

Nothing against Reigns, but this match at Mania with Taker is probably going to be a disaster.

Not sure why Taker puts his body through this every single year. Because unfortunately, this is a topic of conversation with him every Wrestlemania season. He should've retired years ago on a high. Now it's just sad watching him tarnish his legacy a bit by coming back looking worse every year.

Were most likely gonna be having this same conversation next year. Taker just is too much of a loyal guy to Vince. I have a feeling Taker will retire when Vince tells him too.

I know one thing, Taker is old school. If this is his last match, he is 100% losing.

It also makes sense to me why they didn't wanna go with Cena/Taker if this is truly his last match.. they see Reigns as the future and Cena is made and certainly do not need the W, so in their heads they are thinking long term opposed to short term. Whether they are right or wrong, time will tell.

To me Taker should have actually retired after the Brock match, yes it wasn't a match that was worthy of finishing his career, quality wise, but if you think of the story that he was the unbeatable giant when it comes to wrestlemania for then to be destroyed and dominated so horribly bad, he kinda knew at that point his time was over and he was no longer the unquestionable force he once was, would also story wise have made sense. Besides.. to me he was never the same in the ring after that match.

Argument could of course also be made that his last match should have been in the end of an era match, but Taker would probably refuse to not go out on his back and giving that to Triple H would be pointless.
