WWE bosses Triple H and Vince McMahon were not happy with the Punk part of Rock's segment, according to PWInsider. The segment was not something WWE came up with or even approved. This was described as something Rock did "in the moment" for the crowd. It was also noted that it was clear to anyone near Vince and Triple H, especially Triple H, that they did not want this going on. Word was eventually sent from the back that Rock needed to wrap it up.
The last bridge Vince wants to burn is the one connected to the Rock. As out of touch as Vince likes to be, even he knows the Rock is doing them a favor. The Rock doesn't have to give a damn about anything wrestling related, he can easily write all of that off and focus entirely on his movie career if he wanted to.
The Rock is not going to take time away from his crazy schedule just to be dictated by the WWE and their bullshit nor should he. The man has earned the right to do whatever he wants and those who don't like it can suck it.
There must be something going on with WWE and Rock for him to do this. It could be something regarding Trump. Rock was upset that the Under Armour CEO praised President Trump. Around that same time The McMahons were at the White House celebrating Linda's new position.
If Vince and HHH are that upset imagine how would they be feeling if The Rock had actually reached CM Punk and Punk dropped a legit pipe bomb, saying whatever the fuck he wanted about them, WWE and whoever else in the company (be it management or talent).

It would legitimately inject some much needed attention to the product.
I think WWE signed a deal with Rock's production company, and that deal has rendered them helpless when it comes to the Rock. He pretty much has unscripted mic privileges in that company, and unlike a certain son-in-law of a billion dollar industry, he doesnt use the privilege to expose the business or shoot/disparage other wrestlers in front of an audience or on live TV.
Luckily the Rock has been making appearances for WWE and promoting WWE wrestling on his social media to do a favor to Vince and H and his career is not dependent on what they think of him.
I think it was plain as day that Vince and HHH would not be happy, they are still butt hurt over Punk and would see this as a slap in the face. Maybe that was a secret f*ck you from The Rock for The McMahons public affection for Donald Trump.
Dwayne does what he wants and he will get away with it as he has Vince wrapped round his little finger, He's The Rock for gods sake and now he's also a world mega star.
Sorry (not sorry) but after hearing over the years how much of a vindictive and petty control freak Vince can be I can't help but smile at the fact that Rocky can walk in, bend him over and make him take it up the ass with his own product. Sorta like Lesnar.
Punk chants still in 2017 too, that would have had them boiling haha
i'm sure they're not happy with the rock on a bunch of things but yknow business is business and like a lot of people have said, they need him so they'll suck it up and have probably got his next lot appearances booked in already.
Truthfully none of us really know how Triple H and Vince felt about it. This dirt sheet nonsense is something that any of us could have written just from watching it happen from a youtube video or in the stands.
The Rock does have a pull with the WWE I am sure. They NEED him way more than he needs them. That much has been repeated many times.
Triple H and Vince may have not liked it and may still be sour on CM Punk, but they have let guys do things in the spirit of being entertaining and getting a buzz out of it even though it would be controversial (CM Punk and Joey Styles with their pipe bombs). Plus it was off TV, so why really care?
Its just sad that the most entertaining thing of that night that happened wasn't on RAW. Thats my biggest hang up, not what Triple H and Vince may think about Rocks phone call to CM Punk.
Do you smell what the Rock is cooking...oh wait he is not cooking. That is smoke coming out of Vince's ears. Quick, show him some puppies to calm him down >
Wish the full-time roster had the freedom to do whatever they want. Some of the guys are very good talkers outside WWE, but they look horrible with those scripted promos. The talents should have the freedom to be what they are rather then fitting in a certain mould.
When did this happen? date/show/pre-show/post-show ?
