Not really match, but it could be a segment, or recurring theme or storyline aspect.
For me, I cannot think of anything worse than the Anonymous Laptop GM era - The Anonymous GM keeps making new rules throughout the show and communicates via laptop next to the ring.
I can't believe they though it was a good idea to take this as far as adding the 'message received' tone over the PA system doing a retarded thing with the lights
I mean, who pays their money to come and watch that shit? It's just such a stupid idea. No one wants to hear a fucking laptop outside the ring receive a message. It doesn't fit any which way, it's fucking insanely idiotic and to emphasise the whole thing wit the lights and the message tone.
It doesn't help anyone, doesn't add anything to any storyline apart from 'who is the GM' which turned out to be a plane crash anyway.
I cannot overstate how bad I think this concept is. Who the fuck thought of this? It's the kind of thing you wouldn't even say as a joke because you would get laughed at for suggesting it.
I would've been embarrassed to be there as a fan. It's this sort of thing that makes non-fans laugh at wrestling and rightly so.
I mean ofcourse there's been plenty of terrible characters and stupid storylines over the years but just the notion of stopping your in ring stuff so a laptop can go off is just the worse.
I don't see how this was a bad concept. Sure, it ended being that Benoit did something horrible. However at the time WWE had NO clue about it and simply wanted to honour a friend and great worker.
If they ended up doing it AFTER, though. That would be a totally different story.
This idea from modern WWE that EVERYTHING is Even Steven
Heel authority figures NEVER getting their comeuppance in the end
3 hour weekly Raws
Multi-person commentary teams
Not knowing how to properly book faces and heels if their lives depended on it
I didn't mind the anonymous GM, idk why it gets so much hate.
Worst concept is this idea that part timers for some reason are bigger and better FT wrestlers and should get all the spotlight at WM while others work their ass off and end up in some shitty battle royal or a multiman tag match or whatever.
I don't mind Part Timers, as long as they put the current talent over. And to be fair most of these part timers, are more special attractions, and they have earnt that status.
I agree. And that whole McMahon money give away he did. Calling people up on live TV. Either they don't answer. Or they hangup. Nothing but dead silents. Stupid idea. The only part that was good is when the set fell on Vince. And they played it off as being real. And yet we never found out who did it ?!
The idea that having a love triangle storyline in modern WWE was a good idea. I'm talking about the AJ Lee/Daniel Bryan/CM Punk storyline with added Kane in 2012 lol. I hated that angle, it was so stupid. I love AJ, but she was a pain in the ass in 2012 (she got much better in 2013 and became my favourite female in WWE), the entire storyline ended up revolving around her instead of the WWE Championship...
It was pretty funny that Punk rejected her in that storyline then they got married in real life, though.
the worst concept is 50/50 booking in an attempt to get everyone over. If everyone is good then nobody is good. it's the ultra parity roger goodell wet dream that turned the NFL to trash by trying to eliminate top tier teams and keep as many teams in the playoff hunt as long as possible so they can make more money. but rather than skew rules in an actual competition to make that happen, in mcmahon world Vince controls the outcomes to easily achieve this.
Katie Vick is the worse, followed by Mae Young giving birth to a hand. In recent memory "The Four Horse Women"/Womens Revolution is the worst concept and nothing comes anywhere close.
lol its funny how the all time and most recent worst concepts imo all involve women in some form or another.
