Interview via Skype on the Taz radio show. Very interesting.

I thought his whole free agent thing was a huge work but after this interview Im really not so sure. Im beyond confused at this point.

Find out which surprise entrants WWE Superstars like The Miz, Sasha Banks and The New Day want to see in the 2017 Royal Rumble Match.

Re: Seth Rollins wants Kenny Omega in the Royal Rumble Match: WWE Pop Question

I swear if Omega comes out during the rumble i'm gonna mark out harder than anyone ever has. The entire time during the Rumble, everytime it starts counting down i'm gonna be on the edge of my seat thinking its gonna be Omega, as will most of the audience i'm guessing.

Jesus Christ, you people are so easily worked. Loyalty is a huge thing in Japan. There's no way he's leaving now, when they are about to expand to the US territory, when they likely intend to use him as their face there. He's just making waves, and that RR video is exactly what he and NJPW want. It's just a publicity stunt to get the eyes of WWE marks on NJPW product. WWE itself just got worked. Why do you think they pulled it off ASAP?

No thanks. People have bigged him up so much he cant live up to such hype.
The same thing happened with Dean Ambrose. Now while Ambrose certainly contributed to The Shield's success as a group, he didn't exactly go on to be the game changer that he was hyped up to be as a singles star.

You are one of the reasons why wrestling business is what it is. Give other promotions a chance and watch some matches from other promotions here and there. WWE sucks very much at the moment. They devalue their stars and cannot build up feuds properly. Also their storylines are non-existent and there is no legitimate fight feel or hatred between competitors in matches. I have not watched WWE for awhile cause it is just boring! For example watch some matches from NJPW, ROH, TNA etc and follow Youngbucks on Youtube. Much better entertainment than WWE!

After the 4FW show on Saturday, Kenny had a Q&A with about 30 fans and these are the bits I can remember.

* He is 75% decided on what he is doing next in his career.

* When asked if he is worried that the Bullet Club will turn into the NWO and have too many members - He's not worried "because it's already happened. That's why we made the Elite. I suppose I'm the leader of the Bullet Club but please remember I am first and foremost a member of the Elite."

* When asked who he would most like to wrestle in the world at the moment - He mentioned he would love to wrestle some older guys in their prime such as Foley, HBK & Hogan. He then went on to say Vince McMahon for the story and said "he'd love to work AJ at Wrestlemania. That's a career aspiration."

* He has "0% interest in going NXT"

* He believes that if he went to WWE he needs to go in as Kenny Omega as there's money to be made with that moniker. He thinks they missed out on a great opportunity by not keeping Zayn as El Generico.

* He said he really wants to wrestle Ishii 1-1 as they've only had multi-man matches. Thinks there's a special aura around a big money match between himself and Shibata.

* His favorite match is the one versus the young girl. Said if he had to show one match to his family, it'd be that, not him flying 20 foot through the air into a table. He loves doing comedy matches because everybody loves to laugh and you don't need to be a wrestling fan to enjoy the match versus the young girl. He loved his match versus Yano at the G1 last year.

* He thinks AJ will top his WK11 match because "that's just who he is." Mentioned that he's jealous of how naturally wrestling comes to AJ and how he has to bust his ass to be just as good as AJ "coming in and clocking in his card for a normal day at work."

* He said it'd take a whole lot of magic for him to end up being in the Rumble, but if he is then he's winning it.

* After wrestling he'd like to take up gaming as a profession in tournaments etc.

If I can remember anything else I'll be sure to add more!

Edit 1: He was asked if NJPW know who is going to win the G1 before it starts/how it works and he said he doesn't know as the foreigners tend to not get given much information, perhaps because they're not as trustworthy but also because they're not full time.

Thanks for this. The situation continues to be interesting but I'm still leaning toward him staying, at least for another year. IF he is going to the WWE though, I really hope they'll be able to keep it a surprise. That's probably asking for a lot this day and age though.

Disagree with this. Don't think they missed out on anything. He simply wasn't a big enough star that it was paramount that they kept his original name. The Sami Zayn underdog babyface character has been great this current wrestling season.
I agree with this. Maybe Generico would have had a lot of success as well had they just kept the same character, but I think Zayn has been fantastic to this point. I think they've hit it out of the park so far with Sami.

If he does come to WWE he's an awful hypocrite. All that stuff he was saying a few weeks ago about WWE having a monopoly on the business, and wanting to stay with New Japan to help it grow or something. Turns out it was all just a lie, and he sold out for the money as well.
Let's pump the brakes a bit. Chances are he'll re-sign with NJPW. Unless you think he's a hypocrite just for even entertaining the WWE's offer. Kenny seems like a smart guy. It would be foolish to not at least see what they are offering before deciding to do anything, especially after the year he just had.

Re: Kenny Omega confirms that he is a free agent, and is considering WWE

Sounds like he's leveraging for more in New Japan, wants the IWGP some time in his next contract. No way he gets near the creative control/imput he desires in the WWE. If he did go to the wwe I think he'd want one year deals so he didn't get locked into a contract and wasted away. But I think he's the guy who wants to help build something against the wwe to give wrestlers a chance to be able to work elsewhere and the like. With New Japan trying to expand into America in the next year or so and with all the hype surrounding Omega right now, I don't think they can let him walk, nor does he really want to.

Also he doesn't say he's a free agent or not under contract. He said he had a unique contract and since BC isn't booked on the current tour it's allowed him to be free. Seems he could be tap dancing a bit to play the role of being without contract.

Money is a key. Money and the fact that he may not be a commodity next year. Shit happens. He can break his neck, pop an achilles, etc and be shit out of luck. His stock goes down, his body is hurt, and njpw has proven they don't take care of you if you can't work matches and are hurt. There is a practicality for thinking about defecting to Vinny Mac

WWE's schedule is the most grueling in all of pro wrestling. NJPW's schedule is much lighter and chance of injury is not as great or as often as we see it in WWE. Still, if New Japan matches WWE's offer, whatever they offered, he stays. McMahon has a major habit of lying to talent to get them...not just to have them but to hurt the promotion they came from.

Luger? The guy can't fucking walk, Heath is either ignorant or the most savage man alive.

Kenny is just working NJPW for more money. In the video above Anderson and Gallows name drop Tama Tonga and Bad Luck Fale too, but they aren't coming to WWE either. He won't leave until he gets the belt there, and even then I doubt he will go unless he gets the kind of creative freedom The New Day get. From various interviews he's done, the reason he left developmental was because he couldn't stand being overly scripted, and WWE hasn't changed at all in that regard, if anything it has gotten worse since he left.

In New Japan you can say whatever you want since the Japanese don't understand you. Foreigners swear all the fucking time in matches, Juice Robinson (CJ Parker) yells "MOTHER FUCKER" every damn match he is in.

Well, this definitely is interesting. Normally WWE wouldn't just go name dropping guys from other promotions like this.

WWE must be really desperate to get him in with his stock being so high.
