There’s been a lot of recent talk within WWE about Michael Cole’s future on TV.

Cole is reportedly becoming more and more interested in moving to an off-camera role as he continues with behind-the-scenes duties. Cole handles some parts of WWE production and works to groom the up & coming WWE announcers, including Nigel McGuinness.

No word yet on when Cole might transition into a full-time backstage role but lately there’s been more talk of it happening.

Might explain why Phillipe is on SDLIVE, they could be grooming him to take Cole's job on Raw.

Is that why Todd Pettengill has been sitting in on the Smackdown table the last few weeks? To get a little on the job training?

Micheal Cole has been around a long time so it's not surprising he'd wantto move away from camera. Honestly I'm not going to miss him too much. Never really liked the sound of his voice and having Vince in his ear hasn't helped him either. I've heard Graves and Tom Phillips do commentary on NXT before, wouldn't mind them doing Raw. Go back to two man commentating teams.

Good for him if nothing else. Love him or hate him he's been pretty much on the booth for nearly 20 years and always worked hard. It's easy to forget that he's been with the company itself since he was in his 20s.

Interested to see who replaces him though. Can't say I have much hope for Tom Phillips right now but who knows.

Can he take JBL with him? :lol

It's gonna be odd not hearing Cole doing commentary considering he's been doing it for so long at this point.
