Jim Ross recently commented on John Cena and his projects outside of WWE. J.R. compared Cena's career to that of The Rock and noted that Cena may never work a full-time WWE schedule again.

It seems that John Cena is traveling much the same road that Dwayne Johnson has taken in his post-WWE life which I applaud. Just like @therock, @JohnCena is and always will be a WWE guy who may never wrestle a full-time schedule again, likely not IMO, but will always be loyal to the company that helped launch his amazing career.

I know of no wrestler with reasonable sanity that is that would not trade the bumping and the road schedule, etc for the life of a TV or movie personality. Would you? I didn’t think so.

And Cena shouldn't be a full time wrestler again. Cena has earned the right to have any wwe schedule he wants to have. I say he will do this part time schedule for probably another 2-3 years then he will be a special attraction like Brock, HHH, Rock, Taker.

Well Cena can still turn heel like Rock did. Instead we get Hollywood Cena.

This is the moment when it all starts to go rapidly downhill for the WWE.

Their last remaining star going part time...and I don't blame him. Cena has been a colossal cunt on screen for many years, but he has put a shitload of work in, and he needs to calm it down at this stage in his life. He deserves a rest.

When Cena goes though, good lord...Vince, you brought it on yourself. Reigns ain't gonna be the answer. Stephanie, Hunter....good luck.

If I were him and in his position, I'd do the exact same thing. Don't blame him one bit. Wish him the best. He'll make it just fine doing something else.

That being said, and this has nothing to do with John himself, I do get a chuckle how newer fans act like he is the only one who's ever had a brutal schedule in this company. He's an extremely hard-worker in a company that has a long history of very hard workers, especially while being in that spot. The WWF 1980s and 1990's schedule was much more harsh than the past 10 years, which in part why so many wrestlers from that era have passed away, sadly.

WWE doesn't find someone to officially replace Cena soon, they are fucked.
