He never existed apparently. Stephanie said in her promo, "tonight we decide the first ever Universal champion"....Finn was the first ever..either that was an accident or they're just starting over again.

Finn just had a bad break working with Seth who doesn't try to hurt talent but to try and put on the best show he can with that person.

As for Stephanie her and that Family's ego has gotten out of hand. Are we dumb fans? Do we not know Finn was the first ever Universal Champion? Are we all 6 years old and can be fooled?

Just another in the myriad of incorrect "first time" references by any WWE on air personality. I mean the announcers sometimes do it 3 times in a match.. You're acting like they didn't have that video package showing everything that happened, in detail. Best part is, if they follow the Enzo head knock formula we could seeing that shoulder rip out of place for Many weeks to come. Many.

I think it was a honest to god mistake. You're looking way too into this if you think they are just forgetting about Balor. It's 2016 and nothing that has happen can be forgotten about in terms of history no matter how hard WWE tries. August 21st 2016 Finn Balor became the first Universal Champion by beating Seth Rollins.

Finn never should have been in that position in the first place tbh. Not to wish injury on anybody but ultimately him being removed from the picture seems to have turned out for the best. All 4 of the guys in that match last night felt more worthy of the belt than him.
lol wut?

You do realize Big Cass was in the match, not Triple H, right? :HHH2

Eh .. it wasn't a botch or misspoken if we're talking about the whole 'first' universal title match line.

She said it again & emphasised it when talking to Foley.

Which makes sense because she's trying to erase (e.g. aggravate the crowd) that Balor won it against Seth & it works because Finn isn't there to defend himself.

It makes total sense.

As Bryan said "wrestlers can only take a finite number of hits in a career". Getting dudes from the (unsafe) indys where they wrestle dangerously is not a good long term strategy

Nothing like rendering a Summerslam irrelevant within one week, by booking the Brock rematch for a House Show, and trying to erase Finn Balor from history.

She could also have been nervous for some reason and tried to remember her lines, but was afraid of forgetting them. She said: "First ever.... " and then: "but first we have to....". Maybe she got those two lines mixed up. Maybe she just meant to say: "Later we have a title match, but first we have to adress...." or something like that. Maybe she was also embarassed about saying: "welcome to..." when it was in the middle of the show.

Maybe she has just argued with her husband Triple H right before coming out to the ring. Then she mixed up two lines.

I thought that was so weird, considering the entire reason the fatal 4 way existed was cos of Finn having to vacate the title :lol Strange fuck up from Steph there.
