Good for HHH/NXT.

The ten most watched shows on the WWE Network [this week] were an interesting order courtesy of the Observer:

1. NXT Takeover Brooklyn;
2. SummerSlam;
3. NXT Takeover Brooklyn preview show;
4. An episode of Holy Foley;
5. SummerSlam kickoff show;
6. Another episode of Holy Foley;
7. Another episode of Holy Foley;
8. Ride Along with Enzo & Cass & Dudleys;
9. WWE 24: Women’s Revolution;
10. Another episode of Holy Foley

Re: More people watched NXT Takeover than Summerslam on the Network

I only watched the main event of NXT Takeover and Bobby Roode's entrance, and watched all of Summerslam (and outside of 2 matches I kinda wished that I didnt). Not surprised that NXt is getting viewed. I might not care for it but it obviously has a passionate audience

Japanese wrestling/puroresu has what 1 million casual fans (sumo is big so I doubt that number) and you bring just 25% of these to subscribe to the wwe network..

This is like what China brings to Nba, imagine Chinese Kung Fu integrate to the WWE (not Kung Funaki)

Re: More people watched NXT Takeover than Summerslam on the Network

If you separate all 3 brands, and look at the content, NXT clearly had better showing:

NXT: (watched 2 times)
Aires vs No Way Jose (Great Action, plus Hideo GTS)
Ember Moon vs Billie Kay (Top Rope Stunner)
Bobby Roode vs Andrade Almas (Glourious)
Revival vs Johnny Wrestling and Ciampa (best tag match all week)
Asuka vs Bayley (Asuka was a badass, and Bayley's last match)
Nakamura vs Joe (remarkable and outstanding, can you say 5*)

Smackdown: (watch whole Summerslam, but re-watched almost all the matches 2-3 times)
-(pre-show) 12 Man Tag (American Alpha, Hype Bros, Usos, Breezango, Ascension and Vaudevillians) (amazing)
-Miz vs Crews (not good, but not bad)
-Ambrose vs Ziggler (underwhelming, but not bad)
-Styles vs Cena (Stole the show, best of the week, can you say 5*)
-6 Woman Tag (Nikki, Bliss and Nattie vs Becky, Naomi and Carmella) (amazing)
-Orton (his spots got major pops)

RAW: (Watched whole Summerslam but only rewatched Charlottes, Seths and Brocks match)
-(pre-show) Zayn and Neville vs Dudley Boyz (This was Dudley Boyz last match, think about it)
-(pre-show) Sheamus vs Cesaro
-JeriKO vs Enzo and Cass (Owens and Zayn had a 4.5 star match a month ago)
-Charlotte vs Sasha (botch city)
-New Day vs Guns and Gallows (epic fail)
-Finn vs Seth (raw dropped ball)
-Rusev vs Roman (epic fail)
-Brock (open ending was fucking stupid shit, why no one came out (for Brock's next match) is beyond me, when Shane got knocked out, I was sure Taker would return, WWE fucked up hard not having someone attack Brock in ending, even if Goldberg did it for no reason. Way to show the RAW vs SDL rivalry by not having anyone save Orton, let alone entire roster watches their GM get punked, jesus christ. I loved the Brock beat down, but after it was the bullshit. Like watching RAW with Stephanie beating up Tom Phillips to not see him following weeks.)

^-NXT clearly top to bottom had an amazing show, don't need me to tell you the amazing things that happened.

RAW took up more space, and their people were focus especially in the Main Event, so I see this as a RAW failure, which was epic fail, and without Smackdown, this would have been consider one of the worst Summerslams, especially in terms of how please audience was. Dudley Boyz last match and they are on pre-show along with Neville randomly teamed with Zayn who had a 4.5 rated match from Meltzer without a title involved, on same subject Owens who got that 4.5 also, got put into a random tag to face RAW's most popular tag team Enzo and Cass and they were also on pre-show (fucking turrible). Charlotte and Sasha had a rough start and had many weird botches, I think Charlotte winning was a great thing, but she dropped Sasha on ropes, even worst Sasha fell on her own neck in other spots. New Day with John Stewart is worst thing in wrestling, they were literally champions the whole time Dudley Boyz were back, and Karl and Doc chose this, getting spanked by a man in lgbt bronie outfit, over being year long champions in NJPW. Continuing as if this whole card isn't a fucking travesty, Finn and Seth were best match for RAW, but WWE chose a stupid name for an ugly belt, and Seth put Finn into the hospital, so Dbry, Finn, and Seth all vacated championships (another vacate was turrible). Then we got US Title in what appears to be co-main event, and we don't even get a match, what they fucking did on biggest night of the year, is type of shit you do to hype a big fight, aka shit you do on RAW not on the PPV. Then there was Brock, assuming he was told to open up Randy's head, it was epic fail not setting up Brock's next match, whether Kane, Taker, Goldberg, or anyone but Shane comes out......RAW dropped the ball how many times in 1 night, and how many major mistakes they made, let alone all the missed opportunity.

Smackdown had that amazing 12 man tag match that showcased the division. Miz and Crews didn't have a bad match (which is clearly a good thing looking at RAW). Styles and Cena clearly stole the show, and probably one of best matches I've seen that didn't involve a title. Nikki's Pop, and even if she got the pin, it was a great match, plus pinning Carmella turned into a double turn and we got to see Nikki's new finisher, so all positives there. What can I say about Styles vs Cena that it didn't already say to you, could have stole the show with ease, but put on an exceptional performance and truly was a real dream match (orton vs lesnar was more like a nightmare, in every sense of the word). Ambrose and Ziggler under-performed, but they were put in middle of card over RAW's bullshit. Then Orton turned out to be the more entertaining part of Main Event.

There's your evidence 50/50 doesn't fucking work, Paul. :rolleyes:

That's very hard to believe, but I guess it speaks to the fact that WWE's casual audience is severely dwindling, and the hardcores that watch both products are more into a product that emphasizes more sport like presentation and making matches feel important.

Mick Foley is giving Dylon a run for his money. I'm glad to see the Women's Revolution special on that list.

So, thoughts on the small Irish guy getting the fastest title push of all time? I'm surprised that you ever questioned Vince's love for the Irish AND THE LOOK! :kobe9

I think as well as Asian viewers its UK viewers too as NXT was on Saturday which means they don't have to go to bed early for work the next day unlike Sunday which of course is the Summerslam was on and most people are in bed by 12am/1am

Not to mention that you'd only get to sleep like for an hour or two before you had to get up for work if you watched the entire Summerslam.

Re: More people watched NXT Takeover than Summerslam on the Network

There's still a large number of people who watch PPV's on cable etc, and Takeover can only be watched on the network.

Still neat though.
That is kind of dumb, cause constantly on WWE programming, mostly commentators, they say you can only get the PPV's at WWE Network. They say the same shit about NXT episodes, when clearly new episodes are on Hulu (non-takeovers).

I didn't bother looking, but apparently from what your saying you can still order WWE PPV's full price. The only people doing that is Bars, Billards, Restaurants and Clubs, assuming they don't want to buy a cheap little Roku, that would literally off-set cost in the first free month.

Re: More people watched NXT Takeover than Summerslam on the Network

I am surprised and amused by this, because the SS card was relatively stacked even though it didnt turn out as good.

Tell you what though - Joe/Nak is a more credible world title match than either of the ones at SS. The whole developmental aspect of NXT has gone out of the window at this point.
