Matt Hardy says his current ‘Broken’ character is an attempt to emphasize the entertainment element of sports entertainment, and WWE has been unable to successfully emulate his ‘Final Deletion.’

On episode 91 of the Sam Roberts Wrestling Podcast, Hardy spoke at-length about his character, and says WWE’s Wyatt Compound segment was “blasphemy.”

Hardy says that he feels pro wrestling has been stale for the last few years, and referred to internet wrestling fans as “arrogant ants” who are very opinionated. Hardy feels that online fans want “some kind of athletic contest full of spot monkeys,” and he’s bringing wrestling back to a “different universe” where it is more entertainment.

On the subject of The New Day and the Wyatt Family facing off in an empty field on RAW, Hardy feels it’s a direct copy of TNA’s Final Deletion segment. He says that WWE’s vast resources were unable to produce a segment with “heart and soul.”

“I saw that blasphemy, that sacrilege,” Hardy said of the Wyatt Family Compound segment. “Nero, Wyatts, I know what they’re doing. Oh, they are copying. They are mimicking. They saw the greatness of The Final Deletion. I went out and I deleted Brother Nero, the man who was a thorn in my side. They tried to jump on it, thinking they could use WWE and McMahon and his money to produce some masterpiece that could blow away what we put together as Final Deletion. That is not what is going to happen because ours was truly heart and soul.”

Hardy noted that Bobby Lashley is next on his list of people to “delete.”

Many of us felt the same way about that half-assed, bootleg mess. All of the money in the world can't recreate genuine passion. It was incredibly desperate of them to try to copy TNA; especially so soon after The Final Deletion aired.

What is with the actual hate towards The Compound segment?

Deletion was trash. And not in a funny way.

The Compound developed the story. Showed a serious New Day and a serious side to the feud. Biggest complaint I have is the camera work, but it was pretty cool. Felt like it came straight out of a Hills Have Eyes horror movie.

Claiming the Wyatt's stole the idea is kind of unfair. That segment was filmed before The Final Deletion, but that was aired first(and probably filmed first). The timing is too convenient to believe that it was straight up stolen. Also, they were quite different , one was a match that was completely over the top with drones, fireworks etc and the other was a beat down where everyone walked away. I understand why people would claim its a rip off, but the timing would indicate that they had a similar idea . Remember, the Wyatt's compound was an idea for a long time now

I don't tune in to see Matt Hardy do anything anymore (haven't ever since his never-ending obsession with Lita videos) so I can't comment on his so called Final Deletion that seems to have created a tiny buzz but I did see the Wyatt thing with the New Day and really just skipped around through it because it seemed so stupid.

I doubt the Final Deletion is as good as some would have you believe and is only rated that way because the general state of entertainment in the wrestling industry is at a pretty low point overall.

But this is just Matt being Matt and whining online on a regular basis to create some sort of attention for himself. He'll probably be back in a week or less with yet another internet video or comment that is intended to create controversy to get people talking about Matt Hardy some more like anyone really gives two shits.

Just goes to show these comments are nothing more than "Hey, look at me! Matt Hardy here! Memba Me!?"

i thought the 2 were different enough. final deletion was a match, didn't take itself seriously and was the ending of a story. the compound was a brawl, took itself much more seriously and was the middle of the story. i will say that all the quick cuts in the final deletion were too much for me and also jeff 'transforming' in the water took me out of it too. i'd have to say i preferred the compound

Lets be serious, The Final Deletion was a success because it's the stupidest fucking thing ever, and that makes it entertaining/funny because it's actually embracing the circus side of wrestling.

The Wyatts/New Day nonsense was meant to be serious, like every fucking thing in WWE. They basically took a half assed comedy skit, and turned it into a serious WWE production to try and capture what the internet was talking about that particular week. Real bad look on WWE's part.

People getting prissy about Matt's tweet... are you serious?

You guys do know that he's IN CHARACTER, right? Hell, he recently posted this on twitter in response to the Young Bucks saying they were "undeleteable".
YOU SPEAK SACRILEGE.

I will gnaw off both your feet & wear them around my neck as trophies..

My Lucky Bucks Feet.
Do you think he's being serious? Do people think he's going to cannibalize the Young Bucks? Are we now going to see a thread pop up saying Matt Hardy has beef with the Young Bucks?
