Namely Sasha Banks, Alexa Bliss, Carmella, Dana Brooke, etc.
Its extremely grating and cringeworthy to watch. All they do is shake their head from side to side with these weird hand motions. They look and sound like they just finished bitching at a hair salon and are ready to spread their bs to the rest of the world. It doesn't seem real at all, it just seems to be some weird front and its hard to buy in to.
Charlotte, Becky and Bayley are a lot better in that regard, they actually sound like normal people and can vary their tone, rather than delivering every single promo in the exact same way, no matter what it is they are saying.
Its not even the fact that they can't cut a promo but the ones they do cut are extremely cringeworthy. I rather someone be boring but watchable like Baron Corbin than boring but difficult to listen to, with their nail on the chalkboard voicing and annoying ghetto talk mannerisms.
Likely because they all have these, dare i say it... 'ratchet' esque characters.
The promo quality in the women's division isn't great, though i think out of the ones you listed, Bliss and Sasha are pretty good at them in general. I can't say how they talk bothers me personally, but to each their own.
I get what the OP is saying. It doesn't bother me a ton, but it does seem like an excessive amount of the women on the roster are attempting to sound like sassy black women.
I think that's why I like Becky so much, because of her accent you can't detect any of this entitled bullshit when she speaks, as she just comes across as energetic and real. Where the women fuck up, is trying to have too much attitude when they speak and they just come across sounding stupid and fake. Naomi and Sasha are great examples of that.
There have always been racial undertones with the complaints about Sasha and Naomi here, but good job throwing in names like Bliss to cushion the blow and throw 'em off the scent. :lol The problem is "over acting" a lot more than it is anyone trying to sound like a "ratchet" or "ghetto" black woman. A lot of males on the roster suffer from the same issue when they try to sound like a hard ass.

Yeah, the Smackdown segment really highlighted this. They really don't need to be so animated to try to get their point across. A bit more sobriety would go a long way in selling their characters better than it did with such monotonous mic work.
Yes, I see where you're coming from. Most of them overact and it's bad. I know wrestling is often cheesy but it's a bit much sometimes. I don't understand the praise for Sasha in particular, her delivery is unconvincing and plain bad most of the time. Bayley is even worse. I like her and everything but she is really bad at talking. She sounds and looks like she's struggling not to laugh or smile a lot. This was especially bad during that segment with Nia, Bliss and Carmella a while back on NXT.
Charlotte kind of frustrates me. Backstage she is a fairly decent actress and talks well but out in the ring she just falls to pieces. I think she must be scared of crowds or something because there's a really noticeable difference in how she acts while in front of them. Close to being good but can't quite get there is the story of her speaking ability.
Becky is normally good but she does have moments here and there that make me cringe. Emma is decent but can be a bit wooden sometimes.
Emma, Dana, Charlotte and occasionally Becky are the best female promos IMO. Alexa shows moment of greatness but then goes right back to cringe, I think with some experience she'll end up one of the best. Carmella, straight up makes me embarrassed to watch. She needs to drop the Enzo and Cass type gimmick because it's not natural at all. I can deal with Sasha and like Alexis I think will mature into her character on the main roster.
I know what the OP is talking about and it's been irritating me for years. I don't think it has anything to do with the type of character they're portraying, or what race they are, it's just what most of them do.
They put their finger in the air like they're pinching salt, speak really fast, and then go into slow motion at the last word. "Ifyouthinkyou'regonnabeatmethissundaythinkagain. Iamthe wooooomenschaaaampion"
Not all of them are guilty of this, though, but it is extremely common and I don't know why.
The sassy ghetto bitch thing works for Banks. In fact I think she needs to do it more, go full heal and hire big ass security guards. A dude like Big Rick (former Ezekiel Jackson) from Lucha Underground would work wonders in this department. She needs to go back to signing autographs and contracts with a stamp. The last time she actually played her "Boss" character was right before her Brooklyn match with Bayley, when she stepped out of the car during her entrance.
Speaking of heels, Carmella seriously needs to be a heel. Her whole shtick reminds me of somebody that thinks they are Sasha Bank's "Boss" gimmick, but really just live in a run down loft with 3 kids that she tries to raise by attempting to milk child support from a deadbeat babydaddy who left her to hustle.
I know, it sounds very trashy and bitchy, not sure if they're being taught to cut promos like that, I think they're trying to replicate what they seem on reality tv, it makes them look terrible.

He threw in Bliss, probably, because she is just as guilty as Naomi and Sasha. If you watched Smackdown this week or any of her NXT work, you'd see that.

Out of all the people you mentioned, Bayley and Becky are the only ones who don't sound like a bitch when they talk. Charlotte is more like the other women and she yells too damm much. Maybe that's what makes those two genuine babyfaces. I can't say I blame Vince for making the others act like that because we want our characters to be edgy and this is probably his idea of the word when it comes to women. Watching Alexa and Naomi act like a couple of bickering reality tramps was mute worthy. At least Eva just walk around and shows her cleavage.
It's a shame that Sasha does it because her voice is so hot out of character :banderas
