Does WWE currently have the most vocal loud crowds ever?

I've been going to WWE shows since probably 99 and while the attitude era had crazy loud crowds in cities that today have family crowds, I think the way the crowds in 2016 chant what they want and are outspoken and respond to what they see, is among the most vocal I've ever seen it.

No. Just go back and listen to some of the pops (and the demographic of the people cheering/age etc) in the AE to see how much more the general public was into the product back then compared to now.

The crowd these days are vocal and they complain far more but i think that's more a sign of the state of the product because, when a crowd is booing what they see and yet the in ring quality is improving (which imo is the case at the moment and the ring work is far better than the AE) its raises eyebrows.

When you look back at the AE you see that a huge majority of minor acts got huge pops because they were simply over. The story lines werent exactly perfect but if someone is organicly over people will cheer and cheer loud.

Again the big problem with the current product is that people get over and yet are booked badly and that illicit a bad response from the crowd of smart marks who now understand this makes no sense.

Anytime I watch AE content, the reaction completely obliterates anything today's crowd have, even their silly chants putting themselves over. I tend to disregard noise today when it's nothing to do with the product, because it's not a positive for WWE at all. Bryan breaking away from the Wyatts was probably the only comparable reaction.

Last night, I watched the Corporate Royal Rumble, DX vs. The Corporation. Several massive, massive pops throughout.

A fair point about the negativity of todays crowd.

Back in the AE and RA, crowds chanting were mostly positive because the product itself was over.

Today most of the crowd chanting is protest chants directed at the state of the product: CM PUNK, we want Sasha, Roman getting Boo's, you still suck, you cant wrestle, NXT, NAKAMURA! etc etc

I think the difference between attitude era crowds and today's crowds is the demographic. Monday night Raw used to be like a rock concert and a certain 18-25 - 21-35 demographic was into that and showed up in droves.

It was a more raucous environment and a sign of the times. Crowds backs then did chant things like boring but other than that they simply voiced their displeasure by booing. Loudly.

I feel like roman reigns gets booed like triple h did in 2000. The difference? Trips wanted the boos.

Fans in attendance these days either chant to get themselves over, chant for another superstar if they don't like what's going on, or they sit on their hands.

It's mostly wwe fault too. They've spent the last decade openly questioning if us, the fans have been "entertained" when they should be promoting fights between wrestlers who are fighting for something important.

But instead? Just abiut every current talent has made it abundantly clear that what they want most is to entertain you.

This is why characters like Lesnar get such a powerful response. He is there to kick ass. Whether you are entertained or not doesn't matter. He's there to whip some ass, which by effect is entertaining.

Attitude era was full of guys like Brock Lesnar. And the crowds responded accordingly.

Well what do you expect they have a mediocre awful guy like Reigns as the man. If he was in midcard, would have no problem with the guy. But face of the company no way. As for the crowd being more vocal. Well in terms of heat and negativity. But in terms of volume of the crowd being positive. Because the talent, writing, and product was organically over. It's like ECW One night stand. Ppl were vocal but not from a good place haha.

I think NXT has one of the most active crowds in wrestling history, they're willing to chant with anything presented to them and will even make up their own chants. On the main roster, it's really more about the crowd trying to get itself over, that's why every above average match is littered with "This is awesome" chants.

No there is too many lulls in todays proceedings.

That may be due to the overall time of the shows but the issue still remains a fact.

At times the crowd can go crazy but it just seemed more manic in the AE days.

Not even close.

That "monster" pop Rollins got was nothing compared to what The Rock, Austin, Lita, Sable, Chyna, etc. would get at their peaks. The fans are more likely to chant some douchey shit that's all about getting themselves over thesedays, but the crowds thesedays are much quieter.

Here you go. Here are ALL of the RAW intros from 2001. Generally considered the year the Attitude era ended.

Yet, these crowds are still fucking JACKED. Loud and proud and definitely an adult audience.

One thing you guys should notice about that video is how PACKED the houses are. There ain't no tarped off seats except behind the stage here.

No because even if there was a vocal crowd they would've gotten muted because 90% of the time it isn't the reaction Vince wants. Plus, the crowds of the PG era are nothing compared to what we have in the past. Just have a look at HHH's return, or HBK's heel promo in Canada. Those crowds were loud as fuck. Nowadays, the chants are sometimes quite weak, and the pops aren't as loud as they used to be. Hardcore chants also died down, all the 'Die X Die' or 'Fuck You X' chants are now all gone. So I would say no, the current WWE crowd isn't the most vocal, and even if they did they would've gotten muted by senile Vince because they are all 'Fuck you Roman' chants.

These days, Raw Starts this is awesome! :lol. Back in 1999-2001. The fans were generally more smarter. Their were alot more men in the crowd too. The volume of the crowd was much louder too. Fans these days are loud these days, to voice their negativity towards Roman. But generally the consistency of the crowds back then, were much louder. I mean even Rocks Return in 2011. Was one of the biggest pops of all time. And much louder then anything today.
