The majority if not all of us here already consider Jericho one of the greats all time, he's a first ballot who's just about done it all in his career.
Lets look at Chris in 2016 though because this year in particular just shows even more of his greatness. He's starts his year off returning for the Royal Rumble and 45 years old, he has the longest last time of anyone in that match at 51 minutes! Just think about that, 51 one minutes and looked good the entire match!
Then he goes onto have a few matches with AJ Styles, which we're alright but then they team up to have probably the best TV match of the year in Y2AJ v. New Day
I remember that match had the Raw thread buzzing and that match even got nominated in the MOTY thread a few times.
Now onto Y2J letting his greatness thrive, he turns heel on AJ.
And when I say the man has been killing it since his heel turn he has been killing it. He's consistently been one of the most entertaining characters on the show since his turn, you rarely see people talking bad about his character work. He never misses a beat on the mic. His sayings such as "Stupid Idiot" & "Drink it in" are absolute gold.
He's obviously a step slower in the ring but his match with AJ at WM and his match we're Ambrose at Payback we're both very solid.
Onto Extreme Rules say what you want about the match that's not my point here. When you think of Jericho and all the greatness he's achieved, he's one of the greats, one of the few known outside of Wrestling. Even with the legacy he's made
He still does everything he can to put young talent over, this man put his body through THUMBTACKS to put Ambrose over. How many greats would do that ? Very few. At 45 years old this man is going through thumbtacks to put a young guy over
That's the greatness of Y2J, with what he's done for the business he doesn't even have to comeback and wrestle and if he chose to he could just run through everyone that he pleased because he deserves it but no this guy goes out his way to put young guys over. What do you guys think ?
My Favorite guy. Can work the smarks and the marks. Jericho coming back and acting like a corny old dad was all part of the act and people still don't realize. That's the definition of the GOAT. Why should Jericho retire when he's still better than 97% of the roster? Huh huh? STUPID IDIOT!
Jericho is indeed a legend. A great talent, with a long, storied career, whose ability to constantly reinvent himself was amazing. He should also be lauded for his extreme willingness to put over new talent.
I don't know what the reaction was here, but when he first came back the guy got so much shit from "smart fans" who just knew he had no self-awareness about his stale babyface act, and was going to drag down the shows until he left right after Mania.
I love how he turned it around and now no one can do anything but admit his greatness.
Anyone who reads Jericho's history knows he is fucking awesome. I won't say his last couple years have been the greatest, but on top of his career, the 10's have been added bonus.
I got really into Jericho after watching the "Monday Night Wars Series" on WWE Network. Thats when I checked out Smokey Mountain Wrestling, and saw the Thrill Seekers, from there, I checked out all his major accomplishments, and he was a fucking boss at WCW.
Awhile ago, I did some major analysis, everything I know about wrestling, I made up 1 formula that WWE could use to fix this company:
"The Rock is not the formula WWE should follow to build new stars, Chris Jericho is the formula WWE should strive for in every wrestler".
-For one, Rock was a fluke. You can't just take every football player and teach him confidence on a mic
-Jericho had insane amount of charisma as far back as Smokey Mountain. Taking guys with that charsima, with "around the world experience" is who you should take to mold new super stars.
If anyone didn't notice, Roman Reigns is WWE following the "Rock Formula", and its a monster that is screaming for someone to kill it. I see Rollins as the prototype of the Jericho mold. WWE was smart to choose Rollins first. Side by side, I think its easy to say, my theory is correct, that Jericho clones are better than Rock clones.

That's because based on your theory, Jericho clones have to have talent while Rock clones don't actually have to have any of the things that made The Rock special outside of a good look and a football background. :shrug
I love Chris. He's easily one of my all time favourites.
He's sooooo excellent at being a heel. I absolutely hate his character, but I love him at the same time Plus, I don't care what people say, I love him as a face too, I find him hilarious.
Also, his books are brilliant and I own two of them. If I meet him someday, I'm gonna tell him how much I love them.
Jericho has become seriously underrated around these parts because of his sporadic appearances and agreeing to questionable booking like losing to Fandango etc. He's still fantastic. He's great in the ring, even now, and he's an utterly brilliant actor. Face or heel, he's just dripping in charisma and is definitely one of the all time greats. In my opinion, the last few years haven't tarnished his legacy one bit.
A Sellout because WWE is not the be end and end all. Rock was a fluke. But they diddn't teach Rock charisma and speaking. Rock was a natural. Jericho is the GOAT for me. Well one of haha. But I don't think WWE Should build stars on a Jericho type. Hate to say it but Vanilla Midget.
The way I see it. Jericho would become GOAT no matter what. Any number of changes could have completely derailed who the Rock became. Jericho would have rose to the top no matter what, there was large chance Rock didn't become who he was.
I still think Rock would have been a top guy but could have easily not became the mega star that passes torch to Cena. I don't feel WWE did much to help him. Like Jericho, Rock's greatness shined through the bullshit. Which is the odd part, cause with the Rock Formula, anyone you pick should shine through any bullshit you give them, yet Roman is given all the cool stuff that was previously tested to work great, yet he isn't wearing anything nearly as lame as Rock had, nor Rikishi, yet his bullshit is shining through the greatness of his pushes.
I agree. I love Jericho. He's always been one of my all time favourites because he's so versatile. He can do anything well. Heel, face, tag team competitor, singles competitor, he can wrestle big guys and small guys. Chris is a natural performer.
Jericho should have retired after his successful 2008 heel run.
He's just taking up TV time and not really helping anyone. That cage match was atrocious, spot or no spot.
Jericho's just coming back for ez paydays (though unlike Rock, he's been taking a few nasty bumps)
