Yeah i get it. He likes hip-hop, he wants a theme that fits him, but this lame ass song just doesn't help to get hyped.

Would it be that hard to start using this, even if it's more expensive?

Theme songs are important for wrestler's image, and this "they don't want none" shit is just too lame for me. Better pay some money, but have a great theme for Styles, insead of this ******* hip hop theme.

Thoughts?

What are you even talking about? You seem like a huge AJ mark, so I KNOW you've heard the reaction he got at the Royal Rumble when he debuted and at Payback....AJ gets HUGE pops, he's in the top 5 already for loudest reactions on the roster. His song is perfect for getting pops, it has that simple, yet really dope sounding organ melody that's instantly recognizable.

Just about any song can get a pop. Stone Cold Steve Austin could have come out to a fucking Muddy Waters Blue's track, or a Marvin Gaye R&B track and blow the roof off the place with his initial pop. The wrestlers get the pop, not the music.

For proof, watch every Mick Foley entrance in 1999, especially the one from the 1/2/99 Raw match with Rock when he won the title. Mick's entrance music as Mankind was about the most subdued and depressing sounding music imagineable, and he got pops louder than anyone on the roster today.

If Mick could blow the roof off with that depressing ballad, or Undertaker blowing the roof off with a fucking funeral dirge, then AJ's theme will not prevent or hurt the level of pop he gets when he makes his initial entrance.

PLUS, the most meaningful pop is never the initial one when the music hits, it's the second one when the wrestler actually walks out through the curtain. Fans will have a Pavlovian response and pop for sounds because they've been trained to, or because they like the sound, it takes guys actually being OVER and having the crowd really behind him to get a mammoth second pop. That first pop can simply be because the fans love the music and it makes them excited, not that they are excited about the wrestler. It's the second pop that's really telling about what kind of support the guy has, and how over he is. AJ's second pops are as loud as that initial one, showing he's actually over with the fans.

I think his theme's great :shrug
Me too lol. I LOVE AJ's theme, I think it might even be my favorite on the roster. Well, except for Nakamura's new theme. That's the best bar none. Amazing considering I thought nothing would ever live up to his original theme in NJPW, but this one does him justice even though it's not quite up to the level of the NJPW theme.

I like it so much if I had a phone it would be my ringtone.
:lmao so did I. I've only had 2 wrestlers themes as my ringtone, Kevin Owens ROH theme "Unsettling Differences" by Blue Smock Nancy. That's my fave entrance tune of all time, it's amazing.

It has more to do with the songs ability to get a reaction than the quality of the song.
Please stop perpetuating this nonsense. AJ gets GREAT pops, and guys with far, far more subdued themes have blown the roof off of places since the beginning of the entrance music era.

Randy Savage used to get monumental pops playing "Pomp and Circumstance" the fucking music people play during graduation from high school/college.

Ric Flair did the same with the theme from 2001: A Space Oddessey for goodness sake.

Eddie did the same with that original crummy "Lie Cheat Steal" theme (his later 2005 theme when they slowed it down was dope though).

John Cena's theme is very similar in tempo and style to AJ's and he's never had a problem with reactions.

Not everyone can have a Jericho, Austin, Rock, Ultimate Warrior type theme that instantly sends shockwaves of electricity through the crowd and causes instant pandemonium. If everyone's theme was like that, then those themes wouldn't be special and wouldn't cause an increased reaction.

That said, just because AJ's theme ALONE won't cause an instant reaction with a portion of the audience doesn't mean it PREVENTS or inhibits the level of pop he gets. I just gave you almost 10 examples of guys who had way more tame, mellow, subdued, and even flat out corny themes than AJ's who got some of the loudest reactions in the history of the business.

The performer is 99.5% responsible for the type of reaction he gets. The theme is .5%, at best, responsible. AJ has nothing to worry about.

Plus, AJ's theme is dope. The majority of fans think so, as it sold like crazy on ITunes when it was posted. Only Nakamura's theme outsold AJ's this year, that shows you are in the overwhelming minority of people who don't dig the theme.

It's a shame too, cause I think it fits AJ perfectly. He's a southern guy but he's always had some hip hop in his character and appearance. Hell even his name, AJ Styles, sounds like a rappers name. He wears gloves just like rappers Method Man, Redman, Ice Cube, Ghostface etc wore. AJ's theme fits him perfectly.

I like it and think it suits him but I agree that it doesn't get you hyped very much. Whenever AJ comes out he gets that initial pop then it tends to dissipate until he gets in the ring. The theme was absolutely perfect for his debut though. The long intro until "Phenomenal" finally popped up on the titantron. If only Dunn actually showed that for those watching the PPV from home.

Yep, the current theme music sucks and doesn't create a buzz when he comes out.

The TNA theme he had was great. I remember downloading it on iTunes. Most of you guys and current AJ fans won't know it though as that was when it was cool to trash TNA and it's top stars who "would never make it in WWE".

I think it would be great to at least add a intro of 10 seconds, have a compilation of his greatest moves with a sick sound, something that at least get everybody hyped. His current theme song puts me to sleep, even Cesaro have a theme that makes you stand up

I really like his theme personally, i think it's pretty awesome. I agree that it's not a theme that gets you pumped as such, but it sounds fine to me.
