The whole thing is that they want him to be the guy that does charity work. So the new gimmick is that everyone loves to boo him, they really like him, but they love to boo him. I am not saying it is true, in fact this is absolutely not true, but that is how they are attempting to position the fact that people are booing him. The positioning is not that "oh, he didn't get over", the positioning is that "oh, everyone is having so much fun booing him", because we like to boo him. That is what they are trying to potray.
Found this on reddit. Thought I'd share.
I just boo him because he sucks monkey penis. What about you guys?
EDIT: Saw the pre-show and noticed that Lawler said that "he loves to boo Reigns just because." LOL
Booing Roman seems to be the cool thing to do, yes thus far he has been a failed experiment but he is not half as bad as people say he is. I'm waiting for Roman to embrace his heel side then we can talk..
Yeah we love to just boo because booing is fun. That's why we boo Sami Zayn, Kevin Owens, Cesaro and AJ Styles. We just love to boo. It's not because he sucks or anything.
First off using the worded "retarded" is not necessary and very disrespectful to people with special needs. With that being said these people pay their money to go to a show that they complain about this practice isn't very smart. Is WWE not smart for making money? or are the people who pay to boo not smart for giving WWE their money?
Goodness knows this has been done to death, but the one thought that crosses my mind is that there's a reason for everything -- if they're desperate to slot someone (Roman for instance, obviously) as "the guy who does charity work," it means they need a replacement for Cena in that role.
And why would that be? Why would WWE need a new "Mr. Make-a-Wish?"
Could there be plans for someone to turn heel? That's about the only card there is to play to try to turn things around ratings-wise, generate new widespread interest in the product, make wrestling "cool" again, whatever you want to call it.
I've long said Cena can never turn dastardly heel as long as he's doing the Make-a-Wish thing (in such a high-profile way). That was Hulk Hogan's biggest hangup before finally deciding to turn heel with the birth of the nWo, his "You have to walk a mile in these red and gold boots, Brother" answer to Bischoff the first time he turned it down. Free from that, Cena can go full heel.
Not saying it's going to happen, but that's the only logical reason I can think of for WWE to want to put someone else in that role.
WWE sees more money in a "booable" face because smarks get more serious about the product that way, and smarks are a majority nowadays, it's like Cena's run where everyone wanted him to get his ass served especially when he was the champion
If the smarks got it their way they'd stop watching two weeks in, however if you constantly piss them off the more they'll linger and watch the show just to keep the hope of them finally getting their comeuppance, it's the Joffrey effect
I honestly believe that's the psychology in WWE nowadays
At least when Batista was booed he would at least acknowledge the crowd and give it back to them, having Roman approach the fan booing the same way as Cena I don't get. Give Reigns an edge.
I don't know why they just won't officially turn him heel since he already acts like one. But for the sake of argument, some fans do treat booing Reigns like some sport; they cheer and then remember they're not supposed to like him for whatever reasons.
ROFL. Like...they had the opportunities to make a heel out of him. Instead they gave him the Cena treatment, they really truly want him to be discount Cena. This is almost like the modern day equivalent of the Shockmaster. Like hey, he fucked up and this is so awful that we're just going to make it his gimmick that he sucks and it's cool to boo him! Everyone loves it!!! You can tell by the way nobody gives a fucking shit about him!!!
It's all so fucking bad. In no other era would be seeing this nonsense. The guy would be in the midcard learning how to work, where he belongs.
I'm waiting for Vince to come out and announce the new fad like Fandangoing.
"You love Roman Reigns, you love him so much that you boo him for fun. A new trend has taken over the wrestling world these past 2 years. So without further ado, Roman Reigns to explain this new fad of REIGNBOO-ing!" :vince2
"Get it? Its like my last name, combined with boo, and it sounds like rainbow. Just remember, whenever life is tough, whenever a storm appears darkest, there's always light...at the end of the Reignboo." :reigns2
So apparently they think audiences actually like Reigns but like booing him even more. Yeah...that makes sense lol
