I asked this soon after he debuted, just because I was interested to see how people who had never seen him before were receiving him and the way WWE has been booking/presenting him.

Its 3 months later now, and AJ is about to fight for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship in an unprecedented match against "The Guy" at Payback. A lot of stuff has happened since I first made that thread. Im interested to see if you guys have changed your minds, or what you think about AJ now.

The exact same thing I thought when I heard that he signed with WWE.

He should've taken these steps to get into the Company a lot earlier, it's not like they would have turned him away. I just can't shake off the feeling that time just isn't on AJ's side.

I think he's nothing great, highly overrated . there is nothing in the ring already 100 other guys are doing. spams the same 3 boring moves every match, awful mic skills, fucking awful look! i know ll the AJ are creaming themselves. but i still have no idea why. yet to do anything great in the whole 3 months he's been here.

going to enjoy watching him get buried at payback.

Way to go mate. Making it very obvious you clearly don't watch AJ very often.

Show me the 100 guys who can pull this move off.

AJ Styles is everything Vince McMahon hates about wrestling, so it's pretty obvious I like this guy. :bayley2

I like him as a wrestler, but I'm not a fan of his character and promos. His moveset is still cool and he brings the intensity in the ring, but his personality is a bit watered down. He's too vanilla right now. He needs some of that edge he had in Japan and he'll be all set. It could be worse. He could be Finn :quimby

I'd say Cesaro is. AJ is that tolerable balance for Vince because he's marketable outside of the ring.

I never watched a AJ Styles match before he got to the WWE. The way people were talking about AJ Styles I thought he was this rare wrestler like a Bret Hart or Chris Benoit. Those 2 made everything look so real.

AJ Styles is good, but nothing special. Every time AJ as a Backstage segment 2 seconds later someone will come over to talk because AJ sucks on the Mic. He's nothing that special at all.

I miss Bullet Club AJ. He's still a great wrestler, even if he's had to adapt his style. Just feel that the WWE environment is so restrained on what AJ can do as a performer.

Wrestling aside, I'm happy that he's finding success in the top promotion. He deserves it.

Roman's has not outperformed him on the mic. Both are average, but AJ negates this with emotion and storytelling. Roman is one of the worst mic workers to ever be WWE champ. He looks lost in front of a live mic.

He's shit. LOL
This is the first time I'm watching him compete and I'm super disappointed. People praise the hell out of him for no reason at all. His wrestling looks forced as fuck, his mic skills are worse then Reigns' and has a really goofy look. It's a fucking disgrace that people hate Roman so much yet give guys like AJ a pass.

Very happy for him.

He's a fantastic performer and deserves every ounce of success that he has gotten so far. Sure, he's not great on the stick, but he makes up for it with his insane in-ring ability. He's consistently having some of the best matches of the night, and is sure to have some bonafide classics with the likes of Rollins and Nakamura going forward.

It's unfortunate he didn't sign earlier, tho. At this point, it seems as though he has a pretty small window to make significant impact in WWE.

I think Styles is in a good position right now in the E. Only 3 months with the company and he has a shot at the WWE WHC, he was impressive in his RR debut and faced Jericho at WM, even beat Y2J too although that was in another match, and he has won the majority of his matches so far. He is giving screen and mic time and while his promos can be better they are not bad and he is a good wrestler putting on good moves during matches. Sky is the limit for this dude and wouldn't be surprised to see him WHC by next year.

I like Styles a lot. Ace in the ring, nice look, charismatic.

With that said, I've got to be honest with my thoughts and say that he's really bad on the mic more often than not. He can sound believable sometimes, but it's rare. I even think Reigns has been slightly better in that department.

Now that I've watched him awhile I think the following.

1. He is VERY good in the ring. He is a bit on the small side, but you quickly forget about that when you see his ring work.
2. He does have a good dose of "it". You want to watch the guy. He is passable on the mic. Not great, but ok.
3. He evidently gets his hair done at the same place as my aunt Susan.
