Yes, because nobody streamed 10 years ago, and in between the Last 18 months, Streaming picked up SO huge that the audience dropped by 30%.
Yeah, that's it.
Ratings are certainly down and will never reach the levels they were 10-15 years ago because there's several ways to watch the show now but they are also losing viewers because of the shitty product.
Just because some viewers are viewing on other platforms does not mean many, many others aren't tuning out because they are being presented steaming fecal matter on a plate. They aren't a hand in hand issue. Both can happen, neither can happen, or one or the other. It's all a matter of the rate of one versus the other.
"Ratings" are an estimate based on a sample of about 5,000 households in the US that have Nielsen boxes. I'd take any of these numbers with a large shovel of salt to be honest. It's certainly a guage but it's not an actual measurement of how many people tune in. I would imagine there are many people who DVR, or watch on delay and these are not counted either. I would imagine that WWE could care less about ratings these days. If there is a new TV contract up for renewal they will try to get the numbers as high as possible, otherwise I really don't think they care too much and why should they?
Yes TV ratings come and go etc but other platforms are monitored. I'm sure WWE can get information from search engines and youtube and other viewers on who is watching what. So really cannot blame that solely on people using the net.
Well yeah true streaming does take a share of the audience more then Tv tends to do these days. Ratings in all network tv has declined by about 13% over the past year alone. Tv is becoming more and more obsolute. Although tv well always guarantee quality and reliability. Streaming particularly Wwe network cannot promise that lol. Over here we have Sky Arena for wwe ppvs. Now majority of wwe fans here. Are on Wwe network. So they can pay 20 bucks a month. For essentially free ppvs. Opposed to paying 30 dollars more for a one off ppv. But like I said if your willing to pay more quality is better. I when I do watch Raw I stream or Yt. Point is format in tv hss changed. The pie slice is much larger. I don't think one mind individual well impact ratings. Just hope for bettrer quality.
I watch on tv, but I watch dvr the next day so I can skip all the shit segments and commercials. Tracking is still fucked as far as alternative means to watch content as far as I know.
You know even if your streaming doesn't suddenly gloss a shit product lol. Ratings dont matter tbh. The shareholders count more. Ad revenue. Wwe is still making money. Until Usa have a reason to not renew. Not an issue.
The overall TV ratings have been falling for years. Peoples habbits have changed to watch tv in their own time, rather than when it's on. People are watching their TV via Tivo, catch up, streaming services.
The whole WWE losing viewers, because of who's champion is a weak argument. So is blaming just the product, or viewing habbits. It's all three. WWE has failed to build stars, change the product in 15 years and people are bored of it as well as most TV. If a show is not a viral success nowadays then no one cares. No one is talking about WWE, so no one cares.
Pretty much sums up Wwe in a nutshell. Wwe needs to be edgy. But then ppl bitch wwe shouldn't be edgy lol. Until Wwe fundamentally change the product. Its not gonna matter if a Reigns is the man. Or David Arquette .
I stream from nz. Full.3 hrs. I have no idea lol. I guess I enjoy you lot more then the actual show.
