I don't think anyone knows what it is. The funny thing is, Waltman (pre X-Factor) was more over than most of the roster today, but everyone just focuses on the term "X-Pac heat" and thinks his whole career was like that.
"X-Pac heat", sometimes called "Go-away heat", refers to heat drawn by performers whom the fans simply do not want to watch. Heel characters are supposed to be booed, and a negative crowd reaction generally means that the fans care about the wrestler and will pay money to watch him out of hope he will lose or be humiliated by the babyfaces. However, in the case of X-Pac heat, the crowd ignores face or heel alignment and boos the wrestler because they are legitimately bored with or have disdain for the performer (not the character) and would rather watch someone or something else. The phrase "X-Pac heat" comes from the reaction that X-Pac's character received in WWF/WWE during his tenure with that company. Booing and loudly chanting "X-Pac sucks!" when X-Pac wrestled became something of a running joke for audiences who had no interest in seeing him in action.
As for the topic at hand. I'm sure Sean Waltman is probably aware of what the term means. Could've sworn he did a shoot interview where he addressed it.
On topic though...'X-Pac Heat' was derived from the fact that X-Pac won countless matches against better opponents while sticking to his stale gimmick from years prior. Nobody liked it. It's a shame because he was still a great wrestler but he acted like a right cock.
'X-Pac Heat' does exist and you're a fool for thinking otherwise. This is why people tune out for fuck sake.
"X-pac heat" is bullshit, thought up by fans that think they ought to cheer heels.
"I could never boo KO, he's just too good!"
"New Day are so funny, they'll be ruined if they turn them face!"
These people suck as heels if they can't get heat, everyone has to get over or there would be no such thing as "X-Pac Heat," that would be someone you wanted to see get beaten.
If people really wanted the guy to go away, there would be no noise at all.
Weird seeing X-Pac get this kind of hatred. There was never a moment when he was in WWE that he got Go Away Heat.
He was probably the most over guy in DX, and was the heart of that group. He was a huge babyface, and had a great tag team run with Kane. Only towards the end was he kinda just thrown out there.

That's what I thought, I was a huge X Pac fan during the AE, but people in the IWC swear he was some hated jabroni. I stopped watching in 02 so maybe things really turned for him after that but other than the term "X Pac heat" and a couple pictures of people with anti X Pac signs I've never seen any evidence of it.
Why are people talking about Roman Reigns heat? It's just the passionate wwe universe having fun booing who they'd normally cheer and cheer who they'd normally boo
DAE Roman goes home and kisses his kid, gets a blowy from his fine-as-hell wife, looks at his twitter, then looks at his bank statement and laughs his ass off?
How he got the term was a bit unfair, IWC was more aggressive and had highers standards back in the day, even Austin and The Rock were kinda hated, but whatever Reigns gonna take the term from him, since this year we can say X-Pac was getting Roman Reigns heat.
It's strange because even mates of mine who no longer watch it remember him and just didn't like him either. He's probably just unlikable or something?
I wonder what triggered the go away heat for X Pac. He was over but after he and Tori betrayed Kane, fans legitimately began to loathe his mere existence. He was legit the only WWF guy that was heavily booed when matched up against WCW talent during the Invasion angle and PPV. Homecourt advantage and yet the hometown fans are choosing to cheer the visitor. I guess it was the fact he heeled it up a little too well + the notion some felt he had been overexposed due to hom being in with the Kliq. I dunno.
He always reminded me of Benni from The Mummy for some reason.
And upon making that comparison, I believe I may have answered my own question. :lmao I was never bothered by X-Pac on a "go away" level, though.
Xpac was MEGA over when he was doing his thing with Kane. Mega over.
And he was mega hated a heel. Was it because people couldn't stand him?
Well:
1, Who cares
2, Nobody can know unless they happened to ask everyone who was booing him AS A HEEL 15 years ago. Which they DIDNT and which they couldnt now.
So its typical smarks to try and spin everything to make it seem like every wrestling fan has the same views as them because that makes them feel validated about themselves.
Sad but true.
So its all kind of an urban myth peddled by an internet community that just circlejerks and turns pure speculation into "fact"
Also people who get "go away" heat just get no reaction. See almost every divas match with everybody going to the bathroom. Yeh that is go-away heat.
