A lot can happen in a few days in the wrestling industry. A couple of totally different stories, from totally different sources, could form the early beginning of WWE Network becoming closer to being the Netflix of wrestling, if reports prove to be accurate (and one of them is 100%). Sinclair Broadcasting could soon be in the position to help WWE Network acquire the catalogues of both Ring of Honor and TNA for their Network. As of now, only one of these reports is confirmed true (more on that below). The rest is merely speculation and wishful thinking on my part. But follow with me. It might not be as crazy as it sound.

Always thought WWE network being the hub of pro wrestling is the way they should and will eventually go.

Got a great streaming service, especially by wrestling standards, sure there has been lag issues, but so does every other live stream service provider.

They could have cheap products to stream and take the load off their production teams and charge a flat rate for any company they would like to have a relationship with and the Indy product gets a mainstream(by wrestling standards) platform to try increase their brand awareness.

It's win/win.

I'd like to see Evolve run some of their shows on the WWE Network, especially with HHH and Gabe starting a partnership of sorts.

It'd be a win-win for both sides

I don't see wwe showing tna and/or roh. If they then $9.99 might turn into $12.99. May not be that but they would def raise their prices up.

Agreed. It'd be very interesting to see how it'd go down.

I wouldn't mind paying an extra few quid (not a huge increase in price) if they put RoH, TNA etc on the Network. I personally think that NJPW and WWE should link up, do a talent share and have the NJPW English commentary stuff on the Network too. WWE could pay for the rights of the shows at a minimal fee, keeping the fans happy - increasing revenue and allowing some of the smaller brands to flourish and create new talent. For me it's a win/win/win situation for all involved but I am sure someone will say that it couldn't work.

At the rate WWE is going they could create a stunning piece of work with other promotions with the Network as the platform.

I am looking forward to the Cruiserweight Tournament that is coming up...

I actually got really drunk one night and started to type into the WWE network search bar for something TNA related. And then it dawned on me, that having access to all of TNA's fucking backlog of pay per views on the network would be badass. Fuck it, might as well add all of their old impacts too.

A long, long time ago, Microsoft actually purchased non-voting shares in Apple to help keep them afloat during the dark times of 97. If those two companies, who at the time had completely separate idealogies could come together for the betterment of there industry, I don't understand why WWE, TNA, and ROH can't.

Imagine it. WWE, NXT, TNA, and ROH content all in one fucking spot? Plus all of the WCW, ECW and other regional shit they own? And all for $9.99 a month? Yeah sign me the fuck up for that.

It's something that I've been hoping would happen since the network was originally explained. Don't think it'll happen like this though. An amazing catalogue to keep fans busy for another month while until WWE can figure it the next big feature of the network.

Not that it'd be a legit reason to make such a huge purchase..... But the rights to the Bully Ray character wouldn't be too bad either.

Don't see it happening. If TNA and ROH are essentially bought out by WWE for their Network then that's it for the only "national" alternatives to WWE. Dixie is stubborn so I doubt she'll let WWE go anywhere near TNA and I don't even think Koff would necessarily allow ROH to be in that predicament unless they REALLY feel like it's beneficial to them.

Probably reading way too much into this report, to be honest.

There is no mention of WWE buying out anyone

Huge difference between selling content on s network and fully owning entities that produce content. Cbs, fox, nbc don't own every company that produces content for those networks

Lu already came to WWE in December attempting to get a spot on the network where WWE would pay them to air season 1

If this report is true, which I highly doubt and hope it isn't, I'm losing faith in the wrestling industry, If ROH and TNA start airing on the network and become reliant on WWE then that would be two major competitors gone. We all know this would just be a way for WWE to see who's popular and then sign them for their before kicking the companies to the curb. The short-term payday isn't worth it unless you're fine becoming a machine for WWE to produce talent. I hope the people at ROH and TNA have the sense to see this and from the way the article is worded, I think they are,

And buying ROH content isn't gonna make me buy the network, it's just going to strengthen my resentment against WWE. Seeing my favourite company since I was five years old sell out to the fucking monopoly would be so shit. It'd be even worse to see all the people who spent years refusing to give it a shot like it because it's on the Network. Like suddenly it's good enough for you to watch now because it's one click away from the shit WWE is producing, I would rather see ROH collaborate with New Japan and use their streaming service. Even if they boosted the price, I wouldn't mind because I'd save money if ROH's PPVs and live events got uploaded there. ROH and TNA don't need WWE enough to sell out their futures to them, I'd rather they just stayed away.

Lol while I find this utterly laughable, it is a good thing ROH has fans like you. Though I think they would benefit more from being on the network because clearly what they're doing alone and with NJPW isn't making them any bigger position wise. Its cool to see they do have some fans that care about them "not selling out" even if I dont agree with you.

There is a real apetite for a one stop shop for pro wrestling. The fight network and the fite app are working on building this at the moment and it makes good sense as that is the future of broadcasting.

Over the top viewing is how everyone will be getting the content they watch soon and to have something like the wrestling channel we had in the U.K. But available world wide and available in one place over multiple platforms would only be good for the industry.

The U.K. Wrestling boom that's happening at the moment is full of guys who watched TWc as kids and teens. Giving them a whole host of different flavours if wrestling which had previously not been seen.

i can't see the wwe given shine to other companies though the only way it would happen is if they feel these other over the top services are competition to the wwe network. Licensing original content is going to be expensive if there is any kind of exclusivity which I'm assuming vince would want.

Then you have to wonder what influence the wwe would have over these promotions been the official broadcaster

It does certainly open the doors to cross promotion. I mean if they have a big roh supercard there paying broadcast fees for. There going to want as many eye balls on the screen as possible so perhaps we will see big angles on raw etc

It's an interesting development but honestly it's more beneficial If all these promotions jumped aboard a seperate independent app. If this happens wwe will literally have influence over the whole of mainstream wrestling and things like roh will become glorified developmental

We are closer than you might think..if you told someone two years ago the following would happen they would laugh and tell you stop talking shit

1. Joe, Nakamura, styles, Anderson, Austin Aries and bobby roode have signed with WWE and kept their names
2. WWE have had the likes of johnny gargano and tommaso ciampa have appeared on wwe tv, beat WWE talent all the while not under full time contract to wwe
3. WWE have put over other promotions/titles and storylines on their flagship show. How many times have wwe namedropped new japan, iwgp and styles/bullet club past since January
4. WWE uploaded matches from progress wrestling to their youtube one step away from WWE network
