"Chris Jericho responded to a fan who claimed that he was burying AJ Styles and younger talent. Jericho, who beat Styles on Thursday’s episode of WWE SmackDown, wrote the following on Twitter:
Haha so if I win I’m burying young talent & if I lose I’m a jobber? Get a life. https://t.co/gOuUHxFpth
A shitty critique and an even shittier response by Jericho. The tweet got deleted now it seems.
Jericho should be proud that he has carried this nobody one dimensional bore to a pretty good feud, he doesn't need to be apologetic about anything, if there is any semblance of meritocracy left in the business then he should be winning the decider, unless Styles improves drastically in the mean time, which I doubt he will.
AJ didn't need to lose this soon. After AJ beat Jericho on Raw, I would have had them tag up together until Fastlane. Have them face New Day for the tag titles at Fastlane, Jericho takes the pin, he gets pissed off and turns on AJ. Boom: AJ vs Heel Jericho at Mania where AJ wins again. That's how you push new talent coming into the company. A best of 3 series isn't always the base solution especially when the talent is new.

How could Jericho possibly bury AJ Styles? And AJ Styles can't be considered as "young talent" anymore. AJ Styles has been a pro wrestler since 1998 (as long as Kurt Angle and longer than John Cena, CM Punk and Lita). Stupid fans.
He's not burying him. I did say on the SD! thread that beating Styles is not that bad because Styles is likely to win the feud at Fast Lane. I just hate the booking that sees two guys in a feud wrestle on free TV once or twice and then have a final decider on PPV.

I was hoping them to have the 2nd match at FastLane after Jericho would attack on Styles in a tag-team match. And then just continue to build up on the rubber match at mania where Styles would get the win.
Maybe this is why WWE doesn't want to build any feuds anymore.. because to make a feud wins need to be traded. This seems to be getting lost on a lot of people these days.
THANK YOU Chris Jericho for speaking up. Im glad that he said it. All of you in the IWC are the same way. Always complaining about some shit, Jericho is absolutely right for saying that. The only ones that are mad about this are the people that know he is right about their thought process.
"All"? Don't make stupid generalizations. The IWC is a COMMUNITY - the only thing you can say we all have in common is that we watch wrestling. Don't lump people together with generalizations you can't back up.
Jericho isn't to blame because I doubt he booked it, but he shouldn't have beaten Styles clean. Cheat to win, then sure. But a clean win doesn't make Styles look great.
Then again if Styles wins the decider at Fastlane, people will forget that this loss ever happened.
Jericho is right. He loses; he's a jobber. He wins one match; he's "burying" someone. It's ridiculous. And lol at AJ being someone that needs to improve. He's a midcarder. Not like he's getting some massive push and is sucking.

He should improve and get a character but like you said, he's in the fucking midcard. Even if you're not a fan of Styles, which I'm not, you shouldn't be this salty over a guy who's only been wrestling against Jericho, Miz, and the Social Outcasts and lost his first main event on Smackdown if all places.
Chris Jericho is completely right this time, people are crazy, when a veteran superstar beats new talent people complain because they're "burying" new talent, but when veterans lose to new guys people complain because they are "jobbers" and it's predictable that they're gonna lose.
This is ridiculous, people have to get a life and stop complaining about everything, people should enjoy wrestling instead of complaining all the time, this kind of people ho always complain are beyond me, this is horrendous
He's right. Poster was a fucking idiot. You can't "bury" Styles by having him lose to Y2J. Yet another stupid fan who needs to learn how to use the term properly.
jericho should've either ignored that or just worked it into the story. as if rivalries aren't short enough, some fans aren't even willing to let them build up which will include a lot of annoying stuff to make people favour styles, so that angry fan is really getting involved here lol.
He's right. Maybe this would help him get less troll tweet. I see that guy deleted his tweet I guess he scares or feel ashamed. If other trolls noticed too.
Focusing in on a midcarder having to improve but not main eventers.
